start smit (system management interface tool)
Click on Print Spooling
Click on Add a Print Queue
Click on Remote
Click on Local filtering before sending to print server
Click on Other
Click on Generic

This screen indicates that thenew printer was successfully added
Test a sample print job by sendinga file (in this case /etc/hosts)
Printer Setup Changesrun smitclick on
Change / Show Print Queue Characteristics
Enter printer queuename
Click on Default Print Job Attributes
Typestyle and Pitch size can be changed(scroll down)
Carriage Return is added to Line Feed by Default which fixes stair-stepping
(scroll down)
Page OrientationTray Call (simulates HPlj4)
Paper SizeDuplexing
click ok to save changes
To include additional PCL escape sequencesinto the print queue filter
enter the command lsvirprt
Type the number corresponding to the desired print queue
To edit with ed type ~vTo edit with vi type ci~v
This is vi launched with ci~vAdd a line prior to <END>
