The property consists of five lots on a shallow cove of PowersLake, with only one of the lots being buildable; the other lots aredesignated conservation lots. Lat Abee Leed is the Scottish termfor “leave alone channel,” which the client gave to the project onday one. The remaining buildable lot was a sloped, long-narrowparcel, allowing the house’s integration into the site.
The house design is a combination of post-modern Scottish andski-lodge influence. The northelevation facing the lake con-sists of irregular shaped roomsin order to take advantage ofdiffering views of the lakeand conservation lots. The
observation tower on thenortheast ends gives the bestviews of the lake. Theapproach to the home alongthe south side of the housebegins with a timber “bridge,”

giving the visitor the senseof “crossing over” a stream. The combination of pre-fin-ished dark bronze metal sid-ing, metal roof, stucco, andbattered wall stone veneeranchors the building intothe site.
The interior of the home fea-tures a two-story GreatRoom with a three-storystone fireplace, surrounded
with an exposed archi-tectural steel struc-ture. The home has anelevator, making itcompletely accessibleinside, and also hasaccess to the pier onthe lake.

prefabricated vulcanized rubber surfaces’ dynamicresponse and complete control for the desired use. Itincludes opti-mal perform-ance regardlessof climate andenvironmentalc o n d i t i o n s .
Rubber floor performance is vital when unexpectedweather issues occur.
Virgin rubber material is derived from the Hevea treeand it is an environmentally friendly, sustainablebuilding material. The manufacturing process alsohas low impact on the environment, as no toxic gases
are released, all trimmings andwaste are recycled withinMondo’s facility, and the water
used for cooling the industrial equipment is suppliedby a closed-loop system, contributing to water conser-vation and recycling.
Please reach out to Scott Maher with any questionsregarding this presentation. He can be reached [email protected].
