Where do we go from here?

We want to keep growing personally and we want to make others’ lives better too
Goals for this year• Increase from 36% to 70% of all 4th graders scoring
satisfactory or higher on the composition portion of the STAAR writing test
• Increase from 44% to 75% of special populations passing all subjects on STAAR
• 95% of RTI students showing growth on data charts

Drop-Off and Pick-Up• Remember safety is the priority! – Drive slowly (20 mph)– NO cell phone usage at all – Do NOT pass
• Keep the car sign up on the driver’s side until the child is loaded
• Please don’t line up too early
Attendance – pgs 12-16 For absences: must send a signed note within 3 days to determine if it
is excused (phone calls don’t count, emails can)K-5 attendance is taken once in the morningMS attendance is taken every period
For tardies: 1 = warning, 2 = call from teacher, 3 = 15 minute after school detention (restarts each 9 weeks)
Automated School Messenger system – will call you even if you have contacted us– Please listen to messages before calling back
Attendance cont.Truancy: will be filed if a student is (unexcused) absent for 3 or
more days or parts of days within a 4 week period, oris (unexcused) absent for 10 or more days or parts of days within a 6 month period
Regardless of excused or unexcused, students must be in attendance for 90% of the year to receive credit
If students are not in attendance by the 2nd day of school they will vacate their space

• must be fever free without meds for 24 hours
Make sure the office has your current information at all times – allergy/asthma form, permission to give medicine and contact information
Any medicine sent with the child should be in the original container

For Emergencies:If your child ever doesn’t have a lunch, they can get food from the
caterer and Signature Services will bill you.
Paperwork and Fees
Please make sure you have turned everything in to the office and paid your school supply fee; the fee is due by October 31st

Ask every parent to earn 10 punches/semester
• Bring to school events to get punched
– 1 punch for tonight• Child turns in when complete to get a reward and you can get another
