Fellowship
A Rousing Good Time!
A group of Act II members had a great timedancing and sharing fellowship on Oct. 22 at theSouth Street facility. Members of the Whirl &Twirl Square & Round Dance Club helped our
group learn how to dance.
ACT II Mission Statement
Act II is an inter-generational group on the moveto model intentional discipleship through prayer,
study, fellowship and service.

First UMC, Winter Park (FUMCWP) is known for its wonderfulchildren's and student ministries as well as being a church that reachesbeyond its walls in service to the local community and worldwide. But Iwas imagining "Wouldn't it be great if this church was also known as theplace where people age well and live gracefully, where the church canmake a statement that people beyond the age of 50 can look forward tothe best years of their lives as active and passionate Christians asopposed to "getting older?" That is the inspiration for my accepting theresponsibility for the 50+ Adult Ministry for which Act II is the majorfocus. Read more

As the parish nurse, I try to take advantage of every opportunity toincrease awareness of ways to enhance personal health as a way
of increasing our ability to witness with others. I will provideinformation in each newsletter that I hope will support your health
endeavors.Nationally those who are now over age 50 have expressed interest
in maintaining brain function and avoiding memory problems.Numerous studies show that the activities of ACT II will contribute to
brain health. Positive actions include regular social interaction,regular physical activity, mental stimulation, a diet with nutrientdense foods, stress management and a restful night's sleep.

Do you want to know how to journey with and support someone who has a chronic illness such asdiabetes, fibromyalgia, or Parkinson's? There is a great need in our church community to provide
love, support, and care for those who struggle with such chronic illnesses. Or you may have a familymember with a chronic disease. Through a special partnership with Orlando Health and the WP
Health Foundation, an educational opportunity will be offered here at our church. Participants willlearn how to help such individuals by using the Connection, Awareness, Resources, and Education(C.A.R.E) model. Register at www.fumcwp.org or contact Betsy McKeeby at the church 407-644-
