andpersonallives.Projectsincludeanon-campusgrowers’

aheritagefarmingcurriculum,photo-voltaicdemonstrations,
developmentofcampussustainabilitypolicies,planningto
reducecampuscarbonemissions,andcoordinationwithlocal
communitysupportedagricultureprojects.Introductorycourses
helpstudentsreducetheirecologicalfootprintsby20percent,

CharitableFoundation,becauseoftheirexpressedneedtofind
solutionsforpovertyandstructuralracismthathinderthe

homestateNewMexicoranks49or50intheUnionon
measuresofeducation,well-being,health-outcomes,safety,etc.,
yetfordecadesnopolicyorprogramattemptedbygovernment,
religion,business,oreducationhaschangedthestatusquo.
Indeed,rankingsonlytellpartofthestorybyignoringbothhow
faroffapopulationisfromthemarkandhowmuchthepotential
forchangelagsbehind.Inthefaceofgrandchallengesweare
leftwiththeassumptionthatreal,lastingchangehastocome
frominsideeachperson,developedwithintheinter-generational
contextoffamiliesandcommunities.Eachpersonhasthepower
