We will celebrate All Saints Day on Sunday, November 7. This is when we will pay special
recognition to our fellow members who have been called to their heavenly home over the past year.
We will be doing something a little different this year to recognize and remember other family and
friends who have been called home, whether it was this year or previous and whether they were members of St.
Peter’s or not. This year we will be honoring members of our Congregation that have found their way up to
heaven with our Lord.

If you have a photo of someone you would like to remember, bring it to the office to be included in the
display on November 7. This could be a photo of a family member, a dear friend, or a fellow member of St.
Peter’s. Photos will be displayed on a foam board, or if the photo is in a frame it will be placed on a table in the
Narthex. Photos will be placed on display for the November 7 worship service and can be removed and taken
home anytime after that worship service or left for display until November 21. This allows us to remember our
saints throughout the month of November, up until the beginning of Advent.

Mission Sunday – November 14th
Thank you St Peter’s..
Dear Pastor Miller, A sincere thank you to you and the members of your congregation who sponsored our Open Table Community Meal in September. The help from Shirley, Marion, Rachel, Dale, Carolyn, Myrt, Ruth, Estrella, Arold, Hannah, Jess, Tom and so many others was also greatly appreciated. The desserts were also delicious! God Bless each of you! Bunny Frank & Mike and Sue Johnson
Kathy Roberg, from Plain, has been doing Medical work in the country of Haiti. She will be speaking to the KFC as well as telling about her mission work at the 10:00a service.
I don‟t know about that program – but it sounds great. It also sounds like something that we, here, might benefit hearing more about on our MISSION SUNDAY. Each fall for decades, St Peter‟s has had a Mission Sunday. Several years ago we were our own “program” – talking about our Mission Trips to the Gulf Coast helping Katrina victims. We‟ve had other speakers during my last 5 years here – some international missionaries (ordained), and others lay-people.
During Worship services on November 6th
& 7th
, we will be
honoring our Service People of all our branches of service to our
country and to our God.
If you have served or are currently serving our
country and are in the area, we would be privileged to honor
you during our service. We would like to have you
participate in a procession at the start of the service. Meet
at the back of the church. Feel free to wear your uniform or hat
that represents the branch of service you were a part of.
May God Bless You
God Bless you all.
Service projects for the youth – Confirmation & LL
Helping with the opening of a new Shelter for Domestic Violence in Baraboo (HOPE HOUSE). Ron Kruse is our “coordinator” for this site. It will be BOTH menial, manual labor things AS WELL AS more „reconstruction‟ stuff (LATER date – LIKE we do on Mission Trips).
Ron writes: Work varies from raking leaves to demolition to construction to painting. Are YOU interested in doing this? We need to identify the “workers” AND set a date to work. See below for more details about these Hope House projects.
The other is from Marge Schmidt having to do with Cheer Pails and creating Christmas cards – they are distributed to Church Shut-Ins around November 28
th this year. Marge asks me = Please talk to the Luther
League to see if they want to write cards for the shut-ins for the Cheer Pails... Carol Myers has list of names.
If YOU are interested in this, tell ME, or Carol Myers or Marge Schmidt. We‟ll get you started
Won’t Somebody please make the pizza!!!
Opportunities for our High School Students
I want to direct your attention to two exceptional upcoming opportunities for senior high youth in our synod. The first is the Senior High Youth Gathering taking place the first weekend in December at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. This has been a positive experience for the youth in our synod and the adults that accompany them. Please do consider how your congregation can get involved. The early bird registration deadline is coming up at the end of this week, so make your plans to register soon! The second opportunity is the Lutheran College Tour. This trip is intended for students who otherwise would not be able to visit college campuses or students interested in experiencing a Lutheran college campus. The college tour, in the past, has really energized students about taking their next step in college education and listening to their vocational call. The cost is a minimal $25 and includes visiting four colleges, tons of good information about scholarships and applications, and fellowship with other high school youth plus a fun concert! For students who are not able to afford the $25, scholarships are available. Money should not be a factor for students that would benefit from attending. Information and registration materials on both of these events can be found on the synod website (www.scsw-elca.org) or by contacting Cory Hamilton at the synod office: [email protected] or 608-270-0201.

KFC News Our second rotation lesson is “Noah and the Flood” which started October 24, 2010 and will end November 21, 2010 with the children singing in church. The concepts we hope to cover are that God communicates with his people, that Noah obeys God, that God is amazing and that God makes and keeps his promises. We have a great group of children this year. They are eager to learn and it always amazes me the questions and comments they have. Also we have a great bunch of adults who continue to support KFC. Whether they are shepherds or leading our workshops, KFC wouldn‟t continue without their support. If anyone is interested in leading a workshop, please contact I or Pastor.
October 31st – the 2nd grade students will be receiving their “Good News” Bibles (the names will
be published next month) Advent will start November 28, 2010. It is very important for your children to attend KFC during this time.
We will be devoting the month of December towards the Christmas Eve Program. Vicky has had this picked out since last year. The program is called “Twas the Night Before a Christmas Musical”. A letter will be sent to the families outlining practice dates (Saturday am & dress rehearsal, as well as items we may need for the program). This way you can arrange your family get togethers over the Christmas Season. Many speaking & singing parts available, please let Vicky know / 727-4141 if your child would like to do something extra. She will be asking many of them but, a little hint never hurts.
Also we would love to have special music by the children before the program on Christmas Eve. If your child loves to sing or dance or play a musical instrument, we would love to showcase their talents.
