A SPECIAL MESSAGEFROM THE CONVENTION COMMITTEE
We would like to warmly welcome you to Agudath Israel of
America’s 95th National Convention. Your participation in this
Kinus L’shem Shomayim speaks loudly and clearly of your
commitment to Torah ideals, and carries a deep responsibility
to reflect them throughout every aspect of this special
gathering.
One of the most important of those ideals, we have been
taught by our leaders, is tznius, in all of the word’s senses. It
must be part and parcel of not only how we dress, of course,
but of how we act.
Our language, no less than our clothing, our moderation in
adornments and our interactions with each other require
sensitivity to tznius. And because of the sheer number of
people present and the understandable joy of seeing old friends
and of making new ones, our gathering will present not only
wonderful opportunities but also special challenges.
In preparation for the convention, Agudath Israel has taken a
number of steps to help promote an atmosphere of tznius. But
we need your understanding and cooperation.
It is important that congestion in hotel hallways and walkways
be avoided so that people who are moving from one area to
another will be able to do so unimpeded. And it is equally
important that the separation of men and women in
designated areas be respected.
In the merit of our maintenance of a special spirit of tznius and
kedusha, may we be zocheh throughout the convention and
throughout the course of our lives to serve as vehicles for
Kiddush Shem Shomayim.
Respectfully,
The Convention Committee
