• Increases State highway & bridge funding by $1.2 Billion
• Uncaps Oil Company Franchise Tax in 5 years
• Ends contributions from the PA Turnpike in 10 years

various states policies

• Other Department efforts and efficiencies include:– Milk Permit– Traffic Signals– Oversize loads on the weekends– Local Bridge Bundling– Risk Based Posting Removal– Multi Modal Fund– Dirt / Gravel Road– 70 MPH speed limit
Automated Permitting (APRAS)
• PennDOT was one of the first automated permit systems and went live in December of 1998
• Future Plans for APRAS include:– Add visual online mapping with integrated restriction
information so haulers can see the physical barriers to their requested route before submitting the application.
– Improve the route generation feature to create safer more efficient routes
– Increase the volume of auto-issued permits– Compatibility with surrounding states for more fluid
movement beyond Commonwealth borders
