American Healthcare Services, LLC, is cel-ebrating this year’s National Nurses Week byrecognizing the contributions its current RNsmake and looking for new staff members to joinits dedicated team. The Troy-based providerof health care staffing will hold a family eventto honor its nurses during the week, celebratedannually May 6 through May 12 by theAmerican Nurses Association to honornurses and all they do.“We at American Healthcare Services thank

our nurses every chance we get, but NursesWeek is a special occasion, and we take timeout to acknowledge and celebrate what they doevery day,” says Clare Lirio, recruiting man-ager. “We do have out-of-state travel nurses,and we make it a point to let them know that weappreciate what they do.”The theme for this year’s Nurses Week is

“Nurses – Delivering Quality & Innovationin Patient Care.” According to Lirio, puttingpatients first is the most important skill foragency nurses.“Our nurses are very versatile; most of them

can work from one unit to another and functionas well as a staff nurse on the unit can,” shesays. “They are flexible and fill in when theyare needed. We have gotten numerous acco-lades from patients and hospital clients for ournurses.”

Help WantedThe agency, which also has an office in

Irving, Texas, has approximately 110 employeesand currently is recruiting RNs. “We can easilydouble our size, given the right candidates,”Lirio says. In addition to versatility, candidatesalso should be professional, knowledgeable andskilled, and have an open mind and a caring,positive attitude, according to Lirio.“Dedicated nurses mean better care, not just
