These one-hour orientation classes are required in order to checkout motor-
driven ORC boats. Advance classregistration required. Cost is $5. Before attending class, boater must take a free
on-line boater safety course at www.boatus.org and pass with a
minimum score of 80%. Call the ORC after testing to schedule an orientation
class.
The Air Base Outdoor Recreation Center now has specially-discounted, four-day Park Hopper passes, that include the
Water Park, for the astounding price of only $194.50 each! This is nearly a $200 savings over the gate price. Sales are limited to six passes per eligible person or spouse (but, not both) and
must be purchased at the same time. The ORC has only a limited number of these passes on hand at any one time, so
plan ahead and purchase them at least four weeks in advance of going to Orlando. Eligibility to purchase is limited and some
restrictions apply. Call or stop by for more details.

Adventure Events
Tandem Skydiving - June 11. Walterboro, S.C. Jump out of a perfectly good airplane and �y like an eagle. The $100 cost covers transportation, instruction and jump. Bring money for dinner. Trip leaves the Bowman quarterdeck at 7:15 a.m., and returns around 6 p.m.
Horseback Riding - June 18. Seabrook Island, S.C. Join the Air Base Outdoor Rec Center for a trail ride on Seabrook Island. Ride lasts about 1 ½ hour and meanders through scenic woods, marshes and tidal creeks. Must be at least 12 years old and under 240 lbs. Closed toe shoes required. $25 (RecOn) $95 (reg. price) Departs the Air Base ORC at 9:30 a.m., and returns around 1 p.m.
Jet Ski Safari - June 19. Isle of Palms, S.C. – Join the Air Base ORC on a wild ride up the Intercoastal Waterway and into the Barrier Islands o� Charleston. This high speed adventure is a must. $40 (RecOn) $140 (reg. price). Departs the Air Base at 8:45 a.m., and returns at approximately 1 p.m.
Tubing/Kneeboarding - June 15. Ashley River, S.C. Join the the Air Base Outdoor Rec Center on an exciting kneeboard/tubing trip. Don’t know how to kneeboard? We will teach you to do both! - $15 (RecOn) $30 (reg. price). Departs the ORC at 4:45 p.m., returning around 8 p.m.
Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) - June 19. Shem Creek, S.C. Enjoy the scenery on a stand-up paddleboard and get the chance to paddle with the local dolphins in the creek along with much more wildlife! $20. Price includes transportation, instruction, guide, and boards. Bring money for dinner. Departs from the Bowman quarterdeck at 2 p.m., and returns around 8:30 p.m.
Boat Fishing - June 11. Local waters. Join the Outdoor Rec Center on the Air Base for an exciting a �shing trip. Not sure where we going yet, but whatever is hitting best, that’s what we are going after. Fresh or salt, shark to cat�sh. Cost: $30 (RecOn) $130 (reg. price). Current SC �shing license is required (fresh or salt, you will �nd out at sign-up). Departs the ORC at 9 a.m., returning at approximately 3 p.m.
Congaree Kayaking - June 25. Columbia, S.C. Come paddle the scenic Congaree River in Columbia. We will paddle through miles of the Congaree Forest and possibly some rapids! $30. Departs the Bowman quarterdeck at 7 a.m., returning around 9 p.m.
Surf Fishing - June 26. Isle of Palms, S.C. – Join the Air Base Outdoor Rec Center on a surf �shing trip. No telling what we are going to catch... sharks, stingrays, red�sh, blue�sh! Cost: $20 (RecOn) $50 (reg. price). All �shing gear and tackle, bait and rod holders are provided. Must have a current S.C. salt water �shing license. Departs the ORC at 9 a.m., returning at approximately 2 p.m.
Learn to Surf - June 26. Local beach. Ever wished you could ride the waves like a pro? Join the Air Base Outdoor Rec Center as we head to the beach and our instructor will show you how. Cost: $20 (RecOn) $40 (reg. price). Price includes transportation, instruction, surfboards and lots of practice and fun. Must be at least age 16, have basic swimming skill and can tolerate moderate physical activity. Bring your own lunch and drinks. Departs the ORC at 8 a.m., returning at approximately 4 p.m.

Little Tybee Island - June 3-5. Little Tybee Island, Ga. - Come kayak to the uninhabited Little Tybee Island in Georgia. We will paddle out Friday night to setup camp and not return to society until Sunday afternoon! $40. Departs the Bowman quarterdeck at 5 p.m. Friday, returns at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.
Nolichucky Whitewater Rafting - June 10-12. Irwin, Tenn. Spend the weekend riding the torrential rapids of the Nolichucky Gorge, caving (spelunking) and hiking the Appalachian Trail while sleeping in cabins 30 feet from the rushing river! The $100 cost includes all your gear, transportation, �ve delicious meals, rafting trip and hiking. Departs the Bowman quarterdeck on Friday at 5 p.m., and returns Sunday around 11 a.m.
RecOn prices are for active duty military and their families. Active duty member must participate in the program with the family member(s).

Registration for JB Charleston youth summer weekday camps on the Air Base and Weapons Station are now open. The first day of camp isJune 6. Full-day camp at the Air Base is for
kindergarten through 6th grade and 1st through 6th grade (ages 5-12) at the Weapons Station.
Youth ages 12-15 can participate in exciting part-day, morning camps. Adults can register youth for the entire summer program or just certain weeks. Fees are based on total family income. To begin
