2 PROCEDURE FOR SP3D PIPE MODELING
2.1 Creating Pipeline System
To route pipes, it is necessary to prepare Pipeline System in Workspace Explorer in advance.
JGC uses Pipeline System as Line ID.
For this training, use Copy & Paste command under Unit System“041”for Pipeline Systems “041-DG-1001”and“041-DG-1002”.
(1) From File > Define Workspace, select the filter “2.1 Route Pipe”
(2) Select Piping for the Active Permission and WBS_Project for Active WBS.
(3) From the menu, select Tasks> Piping.
(4) Change the Locate Filter to Pipelines.
(5) From Workspace Explorer, select a Pipeline System under Unit 041.

(6) Left-click Copy Command from Common Toolbar.
(7) Left-click Paste Command from Common Toolbar.
(8) Paste dialog box will be displayed, in which Unit 041 has been selected for Paste. Click OK.
(9) Select the copied Pipeline System and change the name to“041-DG-1001”.

2.2 Pipe Routing
2.2.1 Modeling of Pipeline ①
From Page.4[Figure – 1], model Pipeline ① from Tower 041-D-001 (N3) Nozzle to the middle of Pump 041-P-1001A/B then stop.
The reason why the routing is cut is because the distance from Pump Suction to the Pipe is not yet determined and the connection of this piperun is the 3rd port of Tee branch.

(3) New Pipe Run dialog box will be displayed. Set the following items:
(4) Route the pipe according to required length, then left-click to place.
(5) Continue routing in vertical orientation. Middle-click to lock the orientation.

(7) Set Coordinate System to Global.
(8) Left-click on the Set Target to Origin to make the coordinate absolute.
(9) In PinPoint’s ribbon bar, enter 19000 mm in the El: field and press enter. Pressing enter key after
key in of El: 19000 mm will lock the field.
(10) After keying in the coordinate and lock the key, what has already been locked by center-clicking will be unlocked. Left-click to fix it.
After the pipe is routed, right click to finish Route Pipe command.
(11) To move Piping Feature, set the Locate Filter to Piping Features.

(1) Select feature to be moved by left-clicking.
(2) Left-click Move To command from ribbon bar.

(1) Left-click Route Pipe Command and left-click on the existing Pipe End to be connected.

(3) Select Set Offset Reference from Offset combo box.
(4) Select Cardinal Point on Offset Reference Type.

(6) Enter 2000 mm for Length in the ribbon bar and lock the key.
(By key in entry, the key is locked automatically)
(7) After keying in, what has already been locked by center-click will be unlocked. Left-click once again to determine the direction or orientation.
(8) Set the Offset back to <Disabled> and continue routing in the East direction. Middle-click to lock the direction.
(9) With the Pipe provided with an appropriate length, left-click.
(10) Using the Pin Point tool, fix Line length.

(6) Select the Component (Strainer) to be edited by left-clicking and open Properties for editing.

(7) Left-click on OK button to finish the editing of properties. When the shape of the edited Strainer changed because the Strainer Origin becomes the point of origin, extra pipe is generated.
(8) The Strainer should be moved beside the Reducer, and the extra pipe must be deleted.
(9) On the Locate Filter, select Piping Features.
(10) Left-click on the Strainer and left-click on Move To command from the ribbon bar to move the Strainer.
(11) Left-click on the Pipe and delete it by pressing Delete key in the keyboard.
