1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Intended AudienceThe intended audience of this document is all persons involved in the specification, architecture anddesign of the network configuration management system and also marketing people in order tounderstand how to operate the system.
It is assumed that the reader has the following background:
Knowledge of UML notation
Knowledge of network management concept
1.2 Scope
1.2.1 Document ScopeThe aim of this document is to describe the graphical user interface features for the domainviewer domain in MUSEAnalysis Desktop:
Description of Viewer Use Cases from a users point of view
Display the related GUI.
Show how to perform the functions.
1.2.2 Edition ScopeThe Edition 1 describes the Analysis Desktop impacts of the featuresviewer features for M0Step 1. The scope of this edition is MUSE M0 Step1. The followings are some restrictions on the usecases that are included in this document but not part of the MUSE Step1:
Sub Use Case AD003-04 Copy View Template (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-06 Copy Executed View (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-07 Rename Executed View (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-08 Copy/Paste to System Clipboard (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-14 Save View as Template (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-22 Filtering in View (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-23 Spatial Roll-up / Drill-down in view (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-24 Temporal Roll-up / Drill-down in view (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD003-25 Export Views (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD006-01 Configuring User Preferences (not in M0 Step1)
Sub Use Case AD006-02 Saving User Preferences (not in M0 Step1)
The windows shown in this document are not the actual windows of the application. The windowsshown in this document gives the conceptualization of the window and UIS developer can considerthese windows as basis of the development but the actual windows may give different look and feel.

Note:1. Function is the generic term used in this document to refer to individual objects of a Data
group or Analysis Service class. So, depending on the considered domain, a function is acounter, an indicator or a view template.
2. If there is any conflict between the table displayed and figure shown, then the table is to beused as reference.
3. There are formatting checks based on the format of the editable fields described in the GUIlayout tables. These checks are made on the fly. These checks are not mentioned in the statechart diagrams.
4. There are dropping checks based on drop target information described in GUI layout tables. These checks are made on the fly (while dragging) and the cursor is updated. These checksare not mentioned in the state chart diagrams.
5. The dialog boxes should appear at their preferred size such that all is visible. They should beresizable. When being resized to a smaller size that would hide certain elements, scrollbars
are not added and the buttons like OK, Cancel should remain visible with interior data beingmade smaller.
OPEN POINTS
Open Point 1: Here is an example open point. This document is based on MUSE M0 SSRSViewers. This document will need to be updated when SSRS Viewers documentchanges.
Open Point 2: All the windows will have product icon on the upper left corner. Presentlythe icon is not decided, so none of the windows shown here have the product icon. Butactual windows will have the product icon.
Open Point 3: Microsoft visio has been used for development of these screens. The actualwindowswill be developed using Java Swing.
Open Point 4: The dockable and undockable views are not part of M0 Step1.Open Point 5: Error messages will be updated in Edition 2.Open Point 6: The correct size of text strings in dialog boxes will be in Edition 2.

2 MAIN WINDOW
2.1 GeneralViewer domain is a part of GUI client in MUSE Analysis Desktop application. This domain allows theuser to display the results coming from analysis services in the tabular/graphical type.format. The viewcan be createdas templates and executed by selecting network objects and functionsview templates. The view can also be created interactively by selecting network object and indicators / counters. Thisinformation comes from any optimization service. The table mode displaysa viewer that contains exactvalues of analysis services outputs in a table. The graphic mode displays analysis outputs with curves, histograms with scales and legends.
The main window contains menu bar, toolbar, Mode Browser and an Executed View Browser at thebottom.
2.2 GUI LayoutThe following is the main window of Analysis Desktop:

The Main Window displays the network objects in topology trees and Analysis Services and Data inother trees grouped by their type of data. Only one topology tree and one Analysis Services and Datatree is visible at a time. Here in every subpart (both tree and Executed View Browser) is resizable, operator can expand or reduce the size of tree or Executed View Browser by just stretchingboundaries inside and outside.Mode selects both the classification and analysis services. But there are multiple views that are nottied to the modes, classification and functions. The Executed View Browser part in the main window is shown as below:

3 VIEW TEMPLATE MANAGEMENT
3.1 GeneralEach view template defines the representation of a group of QoS Indicators, which can be displayedas:
1. Tabular Form2. Graphical Form
Each view template has a default matrix and graphtable defined for displaying QoS data. Graphrepresentations are used when generating a QoS report.for displaying QoS data.defined in the viewtemplate are optional. The view templates can be private or public, when user tries to create publicview template then notification is sent to all other active Analysis Desktop users.Selecting the network objects and giving the execution context as input can execute these viewtemplates as view in tabular/graphical viewer. The view template can be saved in the system and laterit can be used for creating an executed view by selecting the network object.
Note: When a view has been created interactively counters can be used. So when a view has beencreated using counters it will show counters otherwise not.
3.2 Use CasesSub Use Case AD003-01 Create View TemplateSub Use Case AD003-02 Edit View TemplateSub Use Case AD003-03 Delete View TemplateSub Use Case AD003-04 Copy View Template

3.4 GUI Layout
Figure 5: View Template Editor
Note: QoS Counter tab displayed on the view template editor will be shown only when the viewdisplayed contains the counter. The views, which are having QoS Indicators, will not have counters.Similarly the views, which are having QoS Counters, will not have QoS Indicators. The horizontal and vertical scrollbar shown in the view template editor will be active only when thedata is beyond the display area, otherwise it will be hidden. In the window shown above, the data isnot shown in property editor and the QoS Indicators, QoS Counters. This is just the layout of the viewtemplate editor. The view template editor has splitter after View Template Tree and after Properties windows. User canuse the splitter to adjust the display area. The splitter position is saved in the user preference. Whenthe same user launches the view template editor next time, it reads the previous configuration of thewindow.A user can launch only once instance of the View Template Editor.
View Template Editor consists of four parts:1. View Template Tree: The View Template Tree displays the list of View Templates just as
displayed in the Function Browser. When view templates are selected, available commandsare updated according to their state and to user rights. The user can see the properties of anyview template.
2. Commands: The list of commands is automatically updated based on selected view template.A user can edit and delete a view only when the user is the owner of the view. If there is apublic view template not owned by the current owner, then the user can see the propertiesand copy the view template if desired.
