National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is a Deemed to-beuniversity under De-novo category. It is an Autonomous Institution set up by the Ministry of FoodProcessing Industries, Government of India as a Rs. 500 crore (US $125 million) project in a sprawlingcampus of 100 acres located near Delhi NCR at Kundli, Sonepat, Haryana as an apex world-class institute of global standards in Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management. The institute will cater to the needs of various stake holders, entrepreneurs, industry, exporters, policy makers, the government and the existing institutions. NIFTEM's mandate is to work as “Sector Promotion Organization” & “Business Promotion Organization” of the food processing sector.

Inauguration of 1st Drying Workshop in March 2014
stThe 1 National workshop on “Dehydration of Food and Agricultural Products: Principles, Practices and
thProspects” was organized on 25-26 March 2014 at NIFTEM campus. Based on the overwhelming response of
the participants and their feedback, it is planned to hold the next workshop on drying in February 2015.
The main objective of this workshop is to stimulate discussion on problems of industrial drying and
demonstrate the need to increase the awareness in the Indian industry as well as academia of the
importance of drying as a unit operation. This workshop will provide a platform to researchers,
academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results
and development activities in Drying and Food Security Sector and will broadly cover the following

The participants may submit papers both for oral and poster but only best five papers will be selected fororal presentation. Selected papers will also be considered for publication in edited book form.
