POKER
The biggest event in our calendar happens every
Queen’s birthday weekend, the Club NZ North Island Champs. This
year 19 of us went down to Hamilton to compete in a field with 200
other players. It’s a full on poker playing weekend with little time
for much else. Luckily Team Rewa lover their poker!
Saturday is qualifying day and 8 Manurewa players achieved that.
Sunday is the main game and Plate Tournament for those that
didn’t make the main one. Despite Manurewa having won this event
three other times, this year was not our year but our one success
story is Doc winning the Plate game.
Taradale took away the first prize money and trophy.
Everyone had a great weekend away and big news is that Manurewa
will be hosting the 2020 game so we get to do it all over again at
home. If you want to get involved with that now is the time to get
some practice in. Come and play Tuesday 7pm. We are getting good
numbers and always welcome new faces. All levels welcome.
