Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I would just like to thank all families for their support of
the recent and upcoming events. It was so heart-
warming to see the mountains of grocery items that
have been donated for the Ronald McDonald House,
along with the bags and bags of toothbrushes,
toothpaste and soap for the YWAM medical ship to take
to Papua New Guinea. These charitable initiatives
develop compassion in our students and help them to
learn about the meaningfulness of helping others that
are less fortunate. Thank you to the families that have
begun their Colour Fun Run fundraising. The money
raised goes directly to the Student Council initiative of
fundraising for a new senior playground. Together with
a successful grant, this initiative can certainly be a
reality that the students have needed for a long time
now. We are all looking forward to a great Colour Fun
Run, which is also our Spirit of Railway Day for the term.

Have your say on NAPLAN Parents, caregivers and community members are
invited to provide their feedback on NAPLAN and its
role in meeting the needs of Queensland students and
schools. Led by independent reviewer Dr Gabrielle
Matters, the evaluation will involve state, Catholic and
independent schools to ensure a broad view of parent
opinions are captured. An online survey is currently
available to give as many people as possible the
opportunity to have their say. The link is available from
our school Facebook page or type

Good Shephard Home visit On Monday the 11th of June, the school captains visited the Good Shephard Home, which is where the retired people go to be taken care of. We played games, such as 4 in a row, and talked about their past and what life was like when they were younger. We had a great time talking to the retired people and it was very interesting learning about their past. Gracie School Captain

V8 Parking Yes, it’s that time of year again! The V8 parking provides us with our biggest fundraising opportunity of the year and all the money raised will go back into our school community in so many ways. But we can’t do it without an army of volunteers. If you are able to volunteer, even if it is only for an hour, please fill out the flyer sent home earlier this week and return to the school office.
School Uniform Sale The uniform shop is currently overstocked. To clear
some of this excess stock we will be selling Polo shirts
for the super low price of $19 per shirt until
the end of Term 2. Why not stock up for next year?
Available from the tuckshop before school.

School Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion The School Run4Fun Colour Explosion will be held on 29
th
June starting at 2pm. We do ask that you bring a spare
change of clothes to school, most importantly a plain white
shirt as the students will be covered in powder from head
to toe. The day’s focus is on fun and fitness with the added
benefit of raising funds for our school. The more money we
raise the more we can provide for the students through
vital school projects. Students have now received a
Sponsorship Form with instructions on how to raise money
and order prizes. Students obtain donations in cash using
the Sponsorship Form together with online fundraising.
Please note Fun Run books are due back by
the 22nd June.
Students who raise as little as $10 or more will receive
an incentive prize for their efforts. But why not aim
higher? You have the option to choose up to five (5)
prizes and this will set your fundraising goal. Family and
friends are your greatest supporters, so ask them first
for your support. You will reach your fundraising goal in
no time.
