RegistraBon Process
1. Pre-‐RegistraBon: Students will review the course catalog (Mead HS Counseling Website), their transcript and all registra7on materials. Students will completely fill out all registra7on forms.
2. Online RegistraBon (Infinite Campus): Students will log into their Infinite Campus
account and enter their course requests for the classes listed on their registra7on form.
3. RegistraBon Review Session: Students will meet with their counselor to discuss
and finalize their course requests. All registra7on materials need to be completed and submiDed to your counselor. (Feb 9 & 10 – Gov’t classes)

What are you doing to prepare?
• College admission factors: – GPA: Core GPA is Important
• Colleges will look through your transcript to see what your grades are in core classes.
– Rigor: Honors and AP classes. • College bound students should plan on taking:
• 1-‐2 AP classes during 11th grade • 2-‐3 AP classes during 12th grade
– Test Scores: ACT, SAT and SAT Subject Tests • Retake the ACT and/or SAT. Prepare for the ACT/SAT. • All juniors will take the ACT on April 28th at Mead HS
COLLEGE BOUND STUDENTS • 4 years of English • 4 years of Math • 3 to 4 years of Science • 3 to 4 years of Social Studies • 2 to 3 years of World Language • AP – Advanced Placement classes
NCAA Do you want to play sports in college? • Make sure you are taking enough NCAA approved classes throughout high school – For Example:
• CP English 11/12 and AP Lit/Lang are NCAA approved
• Register with the NCAA during your junior year at www.eligibilitycenter.org
• No7fy your counselor about your intent to play sports in college during Registra7on.
11th to 12th RegistraBon Tips • Refer to the Junior Checklist (Mead HS Counseling Website) for specific informa7on to prepare for your senior year.
• Check with your counselor to make sure you’re on track for gradua7on. Review your transcript on Infinite Campus. Discuss with your counselor a plan to retake any failed courses.
• Do not register for Teacher Aide or Work Study at this Bme. Students can add these classes to their schedule in August.
Time Releases • Seniors can have up to 2 Time Releases each semester.
• Must complete a Time Release Form (parent signature) • Must be on track for gradua7on • Administra7on can deny Time Releases based on aDendance and/or disciplinary history.
• Time Releases are randomly scheduled by Infinite Campus, so you cannot pick which blocks you want to have a Time Release.
• List your Time Releases on your Course Selec7on Sheet. • One Time Release each semester enter:
– MS191 A and MS191 B • Two Time Releases each semester enter:
• MS191 A, MS191 B, MS192 A, and MS192 B
CDC classes • Agriscience, Automo7ve, Cosmetology, Culinary, Dental, Emergency Response, Engineering, Floral, Greenhouse, Mul7media, Nursing, Sports Medicine & Welding
• Complete the CDC Applica7on and turn it in with your registra7on forms. Separate applica7on for the Cosmetology Program.
• Do not list CDC classes on your Course SelecBon Sheet or on your online registraBon
• CDC acceptance decisions will be made in April • Counselors will no7fy students and add CDC classes to their schedules acer they’ve been accepted
Concurrent Enrollment • Students can take 2 college classes each semester of their junior and senior years at Front Range Community College, Aims Community College, or CU-‐Boulder
• SVVSD will pay for the full tui7on (FRCC/Aims) or par7al tui7on (CU-‐Boulder)
• Students must aDend a Concurrent Enrollment mee7ng in April to register for these classes.
• DO NOT list Concurrent Enrollment classes on your Course Selec7on Sheet • Counselors will add these classes to your schedule acer they have been approved by the district in May.
AP Classes & ApplicaBon
• The AP Applica7on is required for students to enroll in AP classes at Mead High School.
• Students must complete the AP Applica7on and obtain all necessary signatures to register for AP classes.
• The teacher signatures on the AP Applica7on indicate that you have had conversa7ons with your current teachers and the AP teacher about the expecta7ons and rigor of the AP classes your interested in taking.
• Depending on student requests, some AP classes may not be offered or may be limited to seniors only.
• AP Chemistry and AP Biology are 1.5 credits, which will take up three spots on your registra7on form.
• AP Applica7ons must be submiDed with all registra7on forms to your counselor during your Registra7on Review Session.
• College bound students are STRONGLY encouraged to take AP classes.

RegistraBon Review Session • Every student will meet with their counselor to discuss
their course requests and finalize their registra7on. • All course requests must have been entered into Infinite
Campus prior to the Review Session. • Students must bring ALL completed registra7on forms to
the Review Session with their counselor. • Your registra7on will not be complete un7l you’ve met
with your counselor. • Review Sessions for juniors will occur on February 9th and
10th during Government classes.
RegistraBon Review Session Dates Remember the date below! You will need to have completed your online registration by this date. Make sure to bring all of your completed and signed registration forms for your Review Session.
Review Session InstrucBons Students will be sent to the counseling office (6 at a 7me – 3 per counselor) to meet with their counselor, turn in their registra7on forms and finalize their registra7on requests.
• Once a student returns to class with their pass, they will then give the pass to the next student un7l all students have met with their counselor.
