From the Pastor
Peace be with you. Here we are, it is summer, and we are s ll wearing masks and prac cing social distancing. It is discouraging a bit, but we all need to stay vigilant helping each other stay safe as long as we need to. Let us make sure we do not get complacent but keep our high standards up so that all may feel safe in our Church. Last weekend was Confirma on and I am so grateful to Laura Bowers and Amanda Heffernan who planned a service with reverence and dignity. I was pleased that our young people came and were eager to be Confirmed. May they listen now to the Holy Spirit within them to guide them in this complicated world. This weekend (6/27) we are holding our two First Communion Masses at Aus n Prep. I could not imagine holding mul ple First Communions in the summer heat in our Church, so I asked Brenda Terranova to come up with an alterna ve. I was so pleased that she was able to do so and I am very grateful to the administra on of Aus n Prep who opened their doors to us. In this way we can do it all in one morning in air condi oning before our young communicants grow out of their dresses and suits. As I write this it hasn’t happened yet, but knowing Brenda, I am sure it will be very well organized and go just fine. Our 75th Anniversary Commi ee has not abandoned the year (although certainly we are making altera ons to our plans). One thing that we decided to do is have a Summer BBQ, albeit one with pandemic considera ons. On July 12, at the Horseshoe Grille, you will have a choice of three op ons to par cipate: Dine-in under the tent or in the dining room at the Horseshoe; take-out food already prepared; or, preorder a “grill-at-home” dinner package you can pick up either July 11 and 12. Part of the proceeds of this event will go to Saint Theresa Parish. See the flyer on page eight of this bulle n for details. At the same event, there will be a box to drop off non-perishable food for the North Reading Food Pantry. July is our Parish month to help them. A list of needed items will be in next week’s bulle n. Let us be as generous as we can to help our neighbors in need during this difficult me. Summer 2020 - Let’s do what we can to make it memorable. Blessings on you and your families, Bishop Mark

Volunteers Needed To Operate Camera We are looking for volunteers to run the live streaming camera during the weekend Masses. This user -friendly system is run thru an app on an iPad. Contact Mary Ann Thomas if you interest in helping: www.mthomas@s heresanreading.org . Training will be provided.
Prayer for Voca ons to the Religious Life
Our Father, you call some of your children to band together in community for the public service of your Church and to live the life of voluntary poverty, chas ty and obedience. You need them to remind all of us of our eternal life with you, to show us the goodness of living together in love, and to do spe-cial work in your Church. May this witness be strong and in-spiring. Give many men and women the grace to follow this path in generous sharing, open love for all and faithful service of your Church, for your honor and glory. Amen

RESPECT LIFE
Saint Pope John Paul II
“You are called to stand up for life! To respect and defend the mystery of life always and everywhere, including the lives of unborn babies, giving real help and encouragement to mothers in difficult situa ons. You are called to work and pray against abor on.”
PRAYER: Lord, reach into the darkness brought on by abor on, and enable Your people to bring the light of Jesus’ presence to wounded hearts.
As we slowly return to normalcy at Mass, we are asking parishioners to pray the Rosary from home for the sanc ty of Human Life, from concep on to natural death. Our Blessed Mother Mary has said that the one true weapon against all evil, especially abor on, is the Rosary.
Thank you for your prayers.
