Joseph“Jody”Adams

Joseph “Jody” IngramAdams, 37 of Nicholasville,went to be with the Lord onFriday, August 16, 2013 atRockcastle Regional Hospi-tal in Mount Vernon, aftera long battle with MuscularDystrophy.

He was born on Septem-ber 9, 1975 in Lexington.He was a resident ofRockcastle Regional Hospi-tal for the past 16 years. Hewas an avid published car-toonist, sculptor, illustrator,clown and politician. In ad-dition, he was an advocatefor people with disabilities.Through his courage, inspi-ration and humor hetouched many lives alonghis way, and will be dearlymissed by all who knewhim. He was a member ofthe Nicholasville BaptistChurch, and had been bap-tized at Southland ChristianChurch.

He is survived by: hisparents, Glenn and Betty(Kirby) Williams ofNicholasville and Tim andJackie Adams of Pewee Val-ley; two sisters, Yvette Wil-liams (fiance’ DustinGibson) of Nicholasville,and Kesha Williams Kemp(Dean) of Nicholasville;two nephews, Colton Kempand Kiptyn Kemp; and ahost of family, friends andneighbors.

He is preceded in deathby: his paternal grandpar-ents, Chub and RubyAdams; his maternal grand-parents, John “Ing” andFlonnie Kirby; paternalgrandparents, Glenn andMurrel “Jean” Williams;and his brother, TimothyWinford Adams.

Funeral services wereconducted Wednesday, Au-gust 21, 2013 at PoplarGrove Baptist Church withRev. Rodney Murphy andBro. Harold Harris officiat-ing. Burial was in the Pop-lar Grove Cemetery.

Casketbearers were:Mike Adams, Nelson Bond,Mike Carpenter, MikeMcFerron, Mike McGuireand Brandon Rogers.

Honorary casketbearerswere: Dustin Gibson, DeanKemp, Colton Kemp,Kiptyn Kemp, David Parkerand Johnna Rose.

Cinda MinkCinda Mink, 93, of Mt.

Vernon, died Friday, August16, 2013 at the RockcastleHealth & RehabilitationCenter in Brodhead. Shewas born in Laurel Countyon May 23, 1920 the daugh-ter of William and MaryGumm McWhorter. Shewas a homemaker and amember of the ProvidenceChurch of Christ.

She is survived by twosisters, Mildred Day andEllen Kidd, both of Ohio, aswell as several nieces andnephews. She was precededin death by her husband, EdMink.

She is survived by: herdaughter, Marsha Brown(David) Parsons of Wildie;two brothers, Alfred(Vivian) Cummins of Berea,and Jimmy (Midge)Cummins of Corbin; fourgrandchildren, Christian(Tiffany) Parsons ofVersailles, and Amy K. Par-sons (Aaron) Caldwell,Joliann Parsons, and JackRyan Parsons, all of Wildie;and four great grandchil-dren, Eden, Isla, Conrad,and Millie. She was pre-ceded in death by her hus-band, Lonnie Brown, and ason, Mark Brown.

Marie Burton, 86, ofBrodhead, died Wednesday,August 14, 2013 atSomerset Nursing and Re-habilitation in Somerset.

She was born March 11,1927 in Preachersville, adaughter of the late Owenand Hettie Rigsby Duvall.She had been a dedicated 18year employee of CowdenManufacturing in Stanford.She was a member of theFairview Church of Christ,enjoyed collecting antiques,attending auction sales,quilting, sewing and garden-ing. In July of 1950 she wasunited in matrimony toOwen Burton, and from thatunion came two daughters.

She is survived by: herhusband of 63 years, OwenBurton of Brodhead; twodaughters, Gail BurtonLedford (Garry) Keith ofSomerset, and Janet Burton(Randy) Parsons ofBronston; two grandchil-dren, Michele (Bruce)Blanton of Bagdad, Kristal(Matthew) Mattingly ofShelbyville; five greatgrandchildren, Trenton Tay-lor, Bailey Mattingly, KadenMattingly, April Blantonand Abigail Blanton; onesister, Dorothy Jane Duvallof Somerset; and a host ofnieces, nephews, friends andneighbors.

Besides her parents, sheis preceded in death by fivebrothers, Raymond,Clarence, Henry, Bobby andSammy Duvall.
