Components
The components of the fan filter unit are as follows:
l Control board: The control board uses the DC power to drive two centrifugal fans and
collects the temperature inside the cabinet to adjust the running status of the fans. The
control board reports the board information through the RS485 port and the Boolean signal.
l
Fan filter: The fan filter is made up of expanded PolyTetraFluoroEthylene. The fan filterfeatures the ventilation capability with dustproof and waterproof capabilities.

l Fan: Two centrifugal fans vertically arranged inside the fan filter are used to accelerate the
ventilation. The fan filter unit must use the fans with DC pulse-width modulation (PWM)
speed control.
PrinciplesThe fan filter unit absorbs and filters the airflow from the environment through the fan filter,
uses the centrifugal fans to accelerate the ventilation and cool down the airflow inside the cabinet,
as shown in Figure 2-8. The control board uses the sensors to collect environment parameters,
controls the running status of the fans in real time, and reports the board information.

2.6 BTS3012AE Batteries
When the external power supply for the BTS fails, batteries are used to sustain the running of
the BTS for a period of time. The BTS3012AE provides a built-in battery cabin and an external
battery cabinet.
Built-In Battery Cabin
The BTS3012AE cabinet has a 48 V DC 150 AH battery cabin and a 48 V DC 50 AH battery
cabin. The maximum configuration of the batteries is 200 AH. In S4/4/4 configuration mode,
the built-in 200 AH battery can provide power for four hours when the traffic volume is normal.
The built-in storage battery of the BTS3012AE has three configuration modes: 100 AH, 150
AH, and 200 AH. The use of built-in storage battery depends on your decision.
The 100 AH and 150 AH configuration modes are designed for Cabinet (A). The 200 AH
configuration mode is designed for Cabinet (B).
The 100 AH and 150 AH configuration mode uses four 100 AH/12 V or 150 AH/12 V storage
batteries in serial connection. The 200 AH configuration mode uses eight 100 AH/12 V storagebatteries. The eight batteries are divided into two groups and each group is composed of four
batteries. The four batteries in each group is in serial connection and the two groups are in parallel
connection.
External Battery Cabinet
The external battery cabinet can provide up to 600 AH power. In S4/4/4 configuration mode,
the external battery cabinet can provide power for more than four hours when the traffic volume
is normal.
NOTE
The external battery cabinet is optional.
2.7 Cable Distribution at the Front of the BTS3012AECabinet (for FFU)
The cables at the front of the BTS3012AE cabinet are RF cables, monitoring signal cables, signal
transfer cables, E1 cables, power cables, and PGND cables.

the power detection cables and sector 2 provides the connections of only the RF cables. Actually, power
detection cables and RF cables must be connected in all the sectors.
