London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. The population of the city is
about 9 mln people. London is situated on the zero meridian, who also often called
Greenwich. There are many world famous sights: Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Westminster
Palace complex with a Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, and others.

Buckingham Palace has the “Changing of the Guard” in front of
the palace every morning at 11 o’clock.
The Houses of Parliament in London, known also as the Palace of Westminster is the place where members of Parliament
gather to make laws.

them.

The Clock Tower with the biggest bell is
known as Big Ben. The tower is 96.3 meters high. It weights 13
tons.

mass meetings and demonstrations are held.
