THIS FRIDAY AT THE STEEPLEGATE
Literacy. One of our favorite Literacy projects is presenting dictionaries to all of the 4th graders at the schools in North Scott Rotary’s physical area.
November Birthdays
Were honored with a Marble cake.
Not one piece was left over.
Message from Bill Tubbs to North Scott Ro-tarians: As you can see from the picture from last Friday’s (Nov. 2) meeting, the Ro-tary Wheel of Fortune, which mysteriously disappeared after I took my turn as sergeant-at-arms this fall, has been found and is now in the safe keeping of its new custodian, Jim Smith, who, along with Carolyn Scheibe (aka Vanna White) entertained us. If any-body would like to use the Rotary Wheel of Fortune, contact Jim. If Jim cannot produce it or does not have it, I recommend the de-tective firm, Duck and Run, or the law firm, Dewey, Cheetum and Howe.
This years District Governor Tom Narak and his wife Carol, made the Governor’s yearly visit to North Scott Rotary. Tom and Carol held a 90 minute Board meeting prior to our regular club meeting.
Tom and Carol stated that they were very impressed with the work undertaken by our Club.
North Scott Rotary is very active in all areas of Literacy that are the backbone of Tom and Carol’s Governorship.
Who are the important individuals in Our Literacy and Dictionary projects?

NEW THIS YEAR! The Rallies for Youth Committee is excited to announce a new feature that will enhance your auction experience. We have partnered with QTEGO, an online bidding company, to help ease the registration process, allow you to enjoy the night without needing to check your item every few minutes, help you be with your guests and friends, and making check-out a breeze. We will soon have a dedicated Rallies for Youth website which will feature our club’s infor-mation and showcase our sponsors. All auction items will be listed on the website and will be easily accessed from your mobile device or computer. This should make the silent auction pro-cess easy, entertaining and fun! What if you didn’t win an item but want to donate? With the simple click of a button, your do-nation will be received! Can’t make the event but want to participate? No problem, we can register you as a guest and you can bid on silent auction items or make donations right from your mobile device. Tired of waiting in line to look at all the items? We have you covered. All of the items will be listed on the site and you can peruse them from your table or next to the bar! Tired of losing a silent auction item at the last minute? No worries, QTEGO allows you to set a bid maximum on items that will automatically outbid someone until you reach your max-imum bid! Somebody out bid you? You will receive an alert telling you to check your item. Live auction bid paddles, remembering your bid number, missing something to make sure you are still in the lead, not anymore! Your bid number is your phone number! Checking out with QTEGO is easy too because you check out on your phone! We are very excited about this new feature! We have received some questions regarding mobile devices. What if you are not a fan of using your mobile device? No problem! QTEGO will send a dedicated team to our event to help make sure you can bid on the items you want. For more information on QTEGO, we encourage you to visit: www.qtego.com. We will communicate the website for our event as soon as it is up and running! A few weeks before our event we will demonstrate how to use your mobile device to bid, check out, and do-nate! Thinking of being a sponsor now? Let us know and we can share the sponsorship levels and show you how QTEGO will help promote your business at the event!

LAST WEEK – November 2, 2018 – Mary Beth and Lindsey with Genesis Pediatric Therapy Unit
Mary Beth and Lindsey are SO passionate and proud of the work they do with children that need some “extra” help in numerous areas. They service children in the entire QC area, some even drive an hour for their ser-vices. Their unit employs 30 therapists. They started out with only 6 therapists. Some of the services they offer are family follow-ups with NICU babies, children on the autism spectrum, youth that have had concus-sions, eating disorders, speech therapy and many other problems.
They also have two therapists that are dance teachers and lead a “chance to dance” therapy. They strongly recommend no screen time, not even television, for children under 2 years old. They also have a cage full of bungee cords. There is no need for hands on the patient from the therapist. Children as well as stroke patients use it.
Sixty attended on Friday. Guests included Marina Snopova, guest of Katelyn Darling and Annulka Shipp, guest of Marcia Brandt. Jim Smith was the sergeant and collected $61 in fines. Marcia Brandt won the 50/50 drawing of $100.50. November birthdays were celebrated. John Maxwell sold 6 baked items for $580. Those who baked were: Linda Paustian, Tracy Lindaman, Mary Ann DeLuca, Joan Maxwell, Marcia Brandt and Paul Holzworth’s Barber Lady. The members who bought items were: Dr. Fred Mulch, Eric Langan, Marcia Brandt, Loren Rickard, Rich Golinghorst and Miles Thompson. THANKS TO ALL!!
The 4 Way Test Of the things we THINK SAY or DO
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
