The Requirement …..

• The site PAGA [Public Address and General Alarm] is one of the biggest systems within the entire Telecom package.

• The system is required to provide acoustic coverage to all potential listening positions on the site.

• Field cabling and associated field devices is a major installation overhead.

The Requirement …..

• By far the greatest overhead in setting the PAGA system to work is the commissioning of the field loudspeaker networks which account for 90% of the overall installation.

• Consequently the majority of site time is consumed in fault finding on loudspeaker installation wiring.

• This activity can only be executed upon completion of the entire PAGA installation works.

• Only when the loudspeaker networks and associated central equipment racks are commissioned satisfactorily can the acoustic performance of the PAGA system be verified.

• As a consequence verification and validation of the acoustic design is only usually possible at an advance stage in the project hand over plan.

ZTL350 Simple use

• The installer connects the speaker circuit cable pair to the Ziztel portable tester via a quick termination block.

• The installer can now switch on an alarm tone or make a speech announcement and verify operation of all the loudspeakers connected on the circuit under test.

• The installer can check the acoustic coverage of the system by switching on a selected alarm tone signal and then measuring broadcast Sound Pressure Level [SPL] with a sound pressure level meter.

• Speech intelligibility can also be checked by making live speech broadcasts and ensuring that speech is both audible, clear and intelligible.
