Where a Great Picture is Always Moving.

Zotfest is an annual student film festival presented by FADA (Film Arts Drama Alliance), a college organization committed to bringing a life to the film community at the University of California, Irvine, Through a committee of students with various backgrounds and specialties, the event aims to showcase the talent of UC Irvine filmmakers, as well as provide an opportunity to connect with peers, faculty, alumni, and invited guests through a shared passion for film. We hope to establish what is now just a small community of artists into a successful network of filmmakers, bringing recognition to an unrepresented university.

This year, Zotfest is specifically committed to uniting several generations of filmmakers from UC Irvine by honoring the success of UC Irvine’s alumni while simultaneously encouraging the great potential of achievement in future classes. By doing so, we hope to create a collaborative and interactive community of filmmakers and film lovers that hold the departments of Arts and Humanities legacy in high esteem. We are proud to work with supportive faculty members, other on-campus organizations, and outside sponsors who are also enthusiastic about our mission. Through Zotfest, FADA will strive to not only celebrate the accomplishments of our peers, but also expose their talents to the rest of the film industry.

UC Irvine itself is located in the city of Irvine, amidst the energetic lifestyles of Southern California. The university accommodates over 84 undergraduate majors, 64 minors, and over 550 organizations on campus. Zotfest has been the principal forum for uniting this diverse community around a love and appreciation for film. Supporting our film festival is having direct access to its audience and participants, as well as supporters from the broader Irvine community at the event. Any contribution to Zotfest is vital to maintaining the heart of the film community and the legacy of film culture in high esteem at the University of California, Irvine.
