ZoneDAS Quad-Band/Quad-Channel Active CAT5e DAS Benefits Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Zyxel’s ZoneDAS totally changes the economic equation of DAS deployment— while improving everything else. Eschewing costly yet cumbersome coaxial cabling, ZoneDAS is a unique product that enables the deployment of easy-to- use CAT-5 cables. These inexpensive twisted-pair cables can be installed by networking novices, saving the cost of hiring licensed electricians—a necessity in traditional DAS deployment. CAT-5 also allows ZoneDAS to power the entire system using just one power supply via PoE. These features significantly shorten ZoneDAS deployment time and greatly simplify management. In addition, through bringing the amplifier straight to the antenna, ZoneDAS delivers the best possible signal-to-noise ratio—with no signal strength degradation. Finally, its low 0~24 dBm base station input requirement helps system integrators lower overall deployment CAPEX. Benefits

Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)Zyxel’s ZoneDAS totally changes the economic equation of DAS deployment—while improving everything else. Eschewing costly yet cumbersome coaxialcabling, ZoneDAS is a unique product that enables the deployment of easy-to-use CAT-5 cables. These inexpensive twisted-pair cables can be installed bynetworking novices, saving the cost of hiring licensed electricians—a necessityin traditional DAS deployment. CAT-5 also allows ZoneDAS to power the entiresystem using just one power supply via PoE. These features significantly shortenZoneDAS deployment time and greatly simplify management. In addition, through bringing the amplifier straight to the antenna, ZoneDAS delivers thebest possible signal-to-noise ratio—with no signal strength degradation. Finally, its low 0~24 dBm base station input requirement helps system integrators loweroverall deployment CAPEX.

Ensure high flexibility and performanceWith ZoneDAS, output power level for each RF module oneach RU (Remote Unit) can be individually adjusted.Upgrading to MIMO service or additional carrier support isalso easily achieved through RF module additions. ZoneDASremote units feature built-in pattern-configurable antennaein each module, through which users can choosedirectional or omni output and optimize coverage.ZoneDAS also features input auto-levelling algorithms thatadaptively optimize system gain to ensure optimal overallperformance. For GSM900 systems, ZoneDAS's Uplink-Time-Slot-Mutely mechanism serves to avoid adjacent channelrejection and far-close effects for phones close to remoteunits.

Source-independent BTSBusiness models for in-building wireless services typically relyon carrier, neutral-host, or enterprise-pays-for-DAS scenarios.Since Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) are the only wiredsignal sources and must be carrier-provided, compatibilitywith various BTS systems becomes key when adopting DASsystems. Zyxel's ZoneDAS is BTS source independent andaccepts the low 0 to 24 dBm input power range providedby macro, micro, and picocell stations. It carries RF signals

from up to four individual BTS cells while offeringversatile input combinations such as 2 x MIMO, 4 xSISO, or 1 x MIMO + 2 X SISO from 2G, 3G and 4G LTEsystems. In addition, it can pipe RF signals from Zyxel'sSymmRepeater to communicate entirely over-the-air.By simplifying technical maintenance, ZoneDAS helpsoperators refocus on device capacity expansion andsystem upgrades, both essential to achieving higherROI and making investments count.
