Dear Young LeadersGreetings and hearty wishes from your National

President for a great year of 2011. Well begin is half done isthe proverb which I love most. You executed this by theunmatched work or releasing Zone Directory. I am very muchglad in presenting preface for the Zone Directory.

“The Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions aremade from something they have deep inside them, a de-sire, a dream , a vision. They have to have the skill and thewill. But the will must be stronger than the skill.” I think the team 2011 of your Zonehas got these qualities so they deserve to be the champions in this year.

“There are those who work all day. There are those who dream all day. And thethird category is those, who spend an hour dreaming before setting to work to fulfillthose dreams. Areas of Opportunities

In realising each individual's personal potential, JCI offers nu-merous individual training programs for its members. Some ofJCI own personal development courses includes aleadership training course enitled Vanguard Leaders and theJCI Training Institute which includes high-power trainingcourses for experienced and inexperienced members. TheTraining Institute also includes a progressive certificationprogramme for members to develop their potential further.In 1992, JCI launched JCI Net, a new electronic mail facilitythat allows individual members to communicate with eachother to realise and augment there personal' potential.

INDIVIDUAL

MANAGMENT

Thousands of communities benefit each year from thecommunity projects conducted by JCI members who learn todevelop an interest in finding solutions to communityproblems. Through active participation, JCI members developo sensitivity to social problems and help find solutions tocommunity issues. For the past twelve years. Junior Chambermembers have conducted program mes under the aegis ofthe major emphasis theme (MET) from 1992 and through 1996.

The JCI MET is: "The Age of Global Citizenship" whichfocuses on three sub-themes relating to safeguarding theEnvironment, the Future of the Children and EconomicDevelopment.

COMMUNITY

JCI offers many opportunities for management training andexperience from which members can learn and developmanagement skills and techniques. Such opportunities in-clude holding an office at local, state, regional, national andinternation level of the organisation. These opportunitiesprovide members with the chance to acquire practical onthe job training. Junior Chamber International also offersacademic classroom assistance in this area. NationalOrganisation Convention, JCI Area Conferences and theJCI World Congress offer many advanced managementtraining area and courses for members.

Areas of Opportunities

As the Jaycees believe in Economic Ju: iicr, the greateropportunities are offered to members to improve upontheir enterpreneural skills through sustained trainedactivities, to involve in shaping the future economicpolicies of democratic Government, to promulgateeconomic policies that foster more privatization, free worldtrade without notional protectionism. Internation BusinessNetwork (IBN) tabs initiation in bringing the Jaycees on acommon forum to enhance mutually beneficial businessactivities in the "Age of Global Citizenship".

RECOGNITION : Appreciation Certificate and Rs.2000/- will be credited to Chapter

ACTIVITY PERIOD : -1st January to 30th November of the year

CRITERIA : Any Chapter getting 100 points from the criteria below will be

eligible.

1. Sending JCI INDIA Membership dues

a. I half on or before February 10th or with penalty on or before

March 10th (5Points)

b. It half on or before August 10th, or with penalty on or before

September 10th (5 Points)

c. Sending both half together (5 Points)

1. Sending JCI India Foundation membership fees of Rs. 100/- on or before

31st March. ( 5 Points)

2. Sending Specimen Signature Card to NHQ before 15th June. (5 Points)

PROTOCOLCHECK LIST

01 Member should wear their organisation Pin at all formal meetings.

02. Chairman should use the gavel & bell to make the meeting formal.

03. Medallion or the collar should be worn by the president only and not by acting

Chairman.

04. The chairman of the meeting should always be at the Centre.

05. Speaker should hand over the floor, back to the chairman I and not request

others to speak without the permission of the chair.

06. Master of ceremony (in any) should not master the dutiesd of chairman.

07. Husband and wife should be called together to the dais but should not be seated

together.

08. A Lady (even if it's the wife) should be offered the seat of shown the way first.

09. VIPs should also be welcomed at the entrance by president/senior members

and should also be seen of till the main entrance after meeting.

10. When presenting mementos member should do it from the front to the table.

11. Call to dais: call as priority and seat them accordingly.

It is suggested that persons occupying the seats on the dais should not

be recongnised as they have already been recognised and honoured while

occupying the dais.

01. See that the Agenda and Circular are sent in advance.

02. Arrange mock session / rehearsal one day earlier (preferably for important meet-

ings only.) Ask the members to do their part. Like reciting the Creed, Introduc-

tion of Chief Guest, Vote of thanks etc.

03. Display of banner at all General Body Meetings is a must.

04. See that minimum number of persons occupy the seat.

05. An Organised Chairman would always use type copied of Agenda's for Circula-

tion on dais.

06. Whenever an IJC Officer vTSifs your chapter, display a "WELCOME" banner. It

speaks your love for him.

07. President should chair all the meeting, in his absence, Vice President can chair

the meeting.

08. Gavel and minutes book should be brought to every meeting.

09. The General meeting shall preferably be of one & half hours to two hours of

maximum duration.

Who can become an HGF ?

Any person who is member of- JCI organisation can be nominated.

Why be HGF title holder?

By becoming an HGF you are contributing to a collective fund which is not used forany other purpose, but for providing scholarships of Rs. 2000- each are given awayeach year. These Scholarships are given on the basis of recommendations receivedfrom various chapters from all over India.

When can an Individual be nominated for an HGF title ?

Even a past Jaycee who has crossed 40 years of age or any associated member ofa chapter can also be nominated for HGF title.

How does one become an HGF ?

i The formalities are simple. Fill in the form available in the LOM management kitwhich is available with your chapter president. The completed form has to be signedby the chapter president. Along with the form you have to send a demand draft forRs.2000/- in favour of Indian Jaycees Charitable Trust, payable at Mumbai.

The benefit s available to an HGF member of JCI India

An HGF member is life member of JCI India. He/She regularly receives "Challenge",a quarterly news magazine of Indian JCI India along with a Life Member Council'sNews Letter.

He/She is held in High esteem in JCI India for the valuable contribution done forfurthering the Junior Chamber International movement and the satisfaction of serv-ing humanity. Take the initiative, help a needy child and always be proud of yourvaluable contribution to hetp build India.

1910 The organisation began in St.Louis, Missouri, USA. Tlie founder, HenryGiessenbier had formed the HERCULANEUM DANCE CLUB, with thepurpose of bringing about the social elevation of its members.

1915 The first step towards the creation of the Jaycee movement was takenwhen 32 young men met at the Mission Inn in St.Louis on October 13th,to form the YOUNG MEN'S PROGRESSIVE CIVIC ASSOCIATION WITHGiessenbier as its President.

1916 In August, the organisations' name was changed to JUNIOR CITIZENS,and it was at this time that the initials X were first utilised.

1918 An affiliation with the St.Louis Chamber of Commerce developed, and thename JUNIOR CHAMBER was adopted.

1920 On January 21 & 22, the first national organisation, the United StatesJunior Chamber of Commerce, was formed. Twenty Nine Clubs aroundthe nations were in attendance and elected Henry Giessenbier as thefirst National President.

1920 1944 - The Jaycee Movement crossed international borders. Organisationswere formed in many countries including Canada, England, Mexico, NewZealand, Australia and Colombia. Many actions were taken to form aJunior Chamber International, including the creation of the InternationalExecutive Council of Junior Chambers of Commerce formed at the Olym-pic Games in 1932.

1944 The Junior Chamber International was born in Mexico City, Mexico, dur-ing December 7 to 11. Witness to the birth of the organisation were 30delegates from North and Central America. Raul Garcia Vidas was electedthe first world president.

1946 In Febrauary, the first JCI World Congress was held in Panama City, withan attendemeo, 14 delegates from 16 countries. At this time, a constitu-tion was dra'/ed.

1946 At the 1946 Notional Convention of Jnited States Junior Chamber, theneed to have a creed was felt by C.William Brownfield who authored theCreed. In its original text, the creed had only FIVE tenets without the firsttenet 'Faith in god gives meaning and purpose to human life". It was onlyin the year 1950 that this tenet was added to make it a SIX TENET CREED.

SENATORS OF JUNIOR CHAMBER INTERNATIONAL

Foundation Patron is a Title of Honour awarded to any Jaycee member of

any individual or organisation who believes the principles and policies of Junior

Chamber International movement and who donates an amount not less then

Rs.25,000/-. Foundation Patron is not a category of membership. Always National

Governing Board reserves the right of denying or awarding such honour and changing

the privileges.

(i) A specially designed Pin & Name Badge

(ii) Specially designed Identification Card with Photo

(iii) An Executive Kit with Tie, Tie pin and a purse (iv) A certificate of honour.

(iv) The name and address of the FPs will be printed in the IJC directory with

Photographs

(v) One HGF Scholarship will be named after this JFP every year.

(vi) JFP will be awarded before Awards night in NATCON every year.

JAYCEE FOUNDATION MEMBER

Foundation member is a title of honour awarded to any jaycee member or any

individual or organisation who believes the principles and policies of Junior Cham-

ber International movement and who donates an amount not less than Rs.5,000/-.

Always NGB reserves the might of denying or awarding such honour and changing

the privileges. This is not a type of membership to JCI foundation member will be

called as JFM in the abbreviated form. Foundation members will get the following

privileges.

(i) A pin of honour

(ii) A Executive Special foundation member kit which will contain a photo embossed

plastic identification card, Tie, Tie pin and a purse or a better kit.

(iii) A certificate of honour

(iv) The name and address will be printed in JCI India Directory.

(v) JFM will be awarded in General Assembly of Natcon.
