A brand new show will be going to the Edin-burgh Festival Fringe this year that focuses on everyone’s favourite subject Zombies and more importantly how to survive when the undead rise. ‘How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse’ is an inspiring and enlightening seminar that will teach you all the rudimentary skills required to get you through those tough times without fo-cusing on firearms and explosives. ‘In our research into Zombie survival we’ve found a lot of people focus on the use of heavy artillery in their contingency plans,’ says Dr Dale Seslick the self professed survival guru ‘But in the UK guns are quite difficult to come by and even if you have one at home you just don’t know where you’ll be when the outbreak begins – you could be in Tesco or at the gym or attend-ing your weekly acupuncture appointment so you’ll just have to make do with what you can get your hands on – which is what our seminar focuses on – How To Survive using everyday items and of course your own wit and wisdom.’ There are already preview videos of the good Doctors teachings at youtube channel drdaleses-lick but for more helpful hints and tips (ever wondered how to kill a zombie with a spatula or cure mental health problems with a stuffed toy) then get yourselves to Edinburgh in August..

Hope all is good; just thought I would give you a bit of an update on the films, as many of you aren't on Facebook Group yet and don't receive the bulletins. The final short film in 'The San Gwyn City Tril-ogy,' entitled 'Howling Brat,' is now complete, and due to be entered into festivals at the start of 2009. The first two films - 'Gasoline Blood' and 'Creeping Thirst' have been screened at over 20 international festivals now. After taking them to Cannes over the last couple of years, they have screened in Rio De Janeiro, Italy, San Jose, California, St.Petersberg, Frightfest Odeon Leciester Square and many more. The stage we are at now is that we are seeking investment opportunities for the feature film version of 'Gasoline Blood.' We've been in talks with a couple of Producers and identifying the next stage in getting the project off the ground. I would ideally love to shoot it Summer 2009, but obviously it all depends on the financial side of things!

Zombies of the Night is a gripping British Indie Grindhouse flick. It was shot in Devon in the UK over 14 days and can best be described as a rural 28 days later, with a psychological and grindhouse twist. It's a very tense film, very intimate, following one young man as the world around him starts falling to pieces. Foot and Mouth has broken out in epidemic pro-portions and suddenly people are being turned in to zombies! It's not a scientific, discover a cure movie - it's a how the hell am I going to survive this adventure. The idea for the film was very simple. If I literally woke up to discover my parents had become zom-bies - what the hell would I do? Would I believe it?

Would I survive it? Who would believe me? We shot on 35mm lenses with the HVX200, our DOP Robbie Bryant really worked with the cam-era, trying to achieve some 'in-camera' grindhouse effects, as well as some beautiful shots, to give the film a truly layered visual style. Post production

is currently underway with Maniac Films and Burn Hand Film Productions both giving us use of their edit, sfx and grading suites, whilst the score is com-posed and sound design created by the award win-ning Alan Deacon.

If you want to survive a zombie apocalypse, it's essential viewing.

Lost Zombies is a social network whose goal is to document the zombie apocalypse and create the world’s first community generated zombie documentary.

February 2007 - The Super Flu The Super Flu pandemic begins in February of 2007 as common, seasonal influenza. By March the number of cases reported has quadrupled and the Flu strain is dubbed “The Super Flu”. It proves resilient against in-fluenza vaccines. On April 1st 2007 the World Health Organization announces that the Super Flu meets the three criteria of a Pandemic. There are protests in major cities, as the public demands healthcare for the uninsured. May 2007 – Camp Saint Teresa On May 1st the US Govern-ment working with FEMA and the CDC sets up a camp in the Nevada desert with the purpose of treating the uninsured sick. The US Gov-ernment issues St. Teresa Passports to Hospitals across the country who are instructed to give the passports to uninsured patients in need. By June 1st all the passports have been issued. By mid June additional camps are set up in every state across the US. July 2007 – The Campion Virus In July the Super Flu mutates and the total death toll doubles in just a few weeks. The CDC dubs Super Flu, the Campion Virus. Reports of cases are coming in from every country on the globe. The United Nations declares a global state of emergency. September 2007 – Dead and Attacking On September 8th 2007 a 911 call is placed from some-

where in Northern California. The caller claims that he’s at a pharmaceutical testing facility where they’re testing Campion Virus treatments. The caller claims that some of the patients have died and are attacking people. The 911 operator asks if the patients are dead or are attacking to which the caller responds, “both.” This is the first re-corded case of zombie behavior resulting from the Cam-pion Virus.

November 19th 2007 – Zombies By November 2nd 2007 the infected reach Las Vegas. The city falls by the 3rd. The in-fected spread from there. The west coast is hit on the 5th by the 7th the east coast is in-fected. Estimates are that 75% of the population is dead or undead by the 19th of November. Survivors are on their own. The US Govern-ment and all it’s agencies cease to function (As far as we know).

Present Day The Campion Virus has reached its final mutation. The positive is that the virus is only transferable by bite, it is no longer an airborne virus. The negative is that the vi-rus will , inevitably, take over the body and cause zom-bism. Present day survivors have spread out across the globe. You are one of them. Tell us your story.

Bizarre, surreal and down right different, Dr Chopper pulls out all the stops to de-liver an original zombie flick and delivers every time. May 22nd holds another late night terror fest for you, this time at 02:40 we dare you to tune in for Zombie Flesh Eaters 2. Also known as Zombi 3 this one involves pesky terrorists who inadvertently release a chemical that turns those exposed into cannibalistic zombies facing scant resistance from soldiers and teenagers. Fulci suffered a stroke near

the end of production and writer Claudio Fragasso took over directing duties. Fragasso actually helmed the next movie in this franchise that goes under a raft of titles including After Death and Zombi 4 which can be seen the following night at 02:40. Also known as Hell of the Living Dead, Zombie Creeping Flesh on the 24th is a classic Italian gut-cruncher from Bruno Mattei and is one of those zombie movies that everyone needs to catch once in a lifetime. A centre dedicated to feeding the 3rd world suffers a chemical calamity turning their staff into zombies with a hankering for munching on mankind. Gruesome and shocking this is one of the zombie movies of the month. The flesh starts to creep at 02:30. When I was asked to say a few things for this e-zine, I thought about what it was that got me doing what I am right now. Growing up where I did in a Northern Ontario town, in Canada, there was a serious lack of art at my disposal. Short of visits to one of the few comic or book stores in this small city,

there wasn’t much available. I craved to sink my teeth into sci-fi and horror images. Tired of waiting for the next Bernie Wrightson or William Stout, I started to draw and create my own monster uni-verse. That was decades ago. Not much has changed for me artistically. I still draw every day, only now I get to share my art with the world, instead of the handful of friends who used to dig my stuff. Gong on three years ago, I decided to use my portraiture skills in a more gory way, and zombiefied myself and my wife for fun. Within weeks www.zombieportraits.com was up and the zom-bie portraits virus started to spread.

With hundreds of my army of undead paintings done, I still was searching for another creative out-let for all things zombie. And so I launched www.zombiedaily.com . This site allowed me to give something to horror/art fans for free… a new image illustrated and posted every single day! Where else could you get that? After posting hun-dreds of images, I took a few months off to finish my book, “The Zombie Handbook” due out this July. Well, the book is done, and zombiedaily.com is back with its official relaunch, May 18th. With daily illos posted and weekly podcasts done by yours truly and guests, this online sketchbook of quick sketches to full blown paint-ings, is my gift to all art fans out there, horror and otherwise. On the night of April 4th, the pavements of Holloway Road were splattered with blood. Thankfully in this instance it was fake, and dripping from the attendees of our Valentine's Zombie Prom! The night and its multitude of organisers, helpers, donators and guests managed to raise over two thousand pounds for the homeless charity St Mungo's. More than 200 zom-bies in prom attire shambled

on down to The Gaff (www.thegaffclub.com) and had a whole heap of bloody fun. Zombie Cupid was also in attendance. He ended the night having lost his bow and ar-rows, minus a sandal and covered in gore after starting a blood fight in the crowd. The symbol of love and romance has never looked bet-ter! The bands of the evening were 100 Robots, Tits of Death and Dirty Wee Middens. Every act blew the cobwebs away from what was left of our brains throughout the night - they too dressing to impress in formalwear smeared with guts. In between band sets DJs played tunes good enough to raise the dead, including

chucklesome hits such as 'Stayin' Alive'. Prom King and Queen Mister Andy Beard and Miss Alexys Bercerra were crowned at midnight, after ad-mitting they were on their second date. It was a beau-tiful scene and those of us with eyes still in our sockets shed a little zombie tear of happiness... The organisers and members of WZD London would like to take this opportunity to again thank everyone who made the night possible. From bands who put on such an amazing

show, to the extremely generous souls who donated to the raffle, to those who bought a ticket and made such an amazing effort with their costumes - and every-one in between! We could not have done it without you and we amazed ourselves at how well the night went. The zombie film now called “Dead Uprising” is our first major production, and hopefully our best. Although scripting has been complete for some time now, production was confirmed on world zombie day, when we saw how many people would willingly get involved in the event. Al-though the majority of our main cast is complete, we are in need of extra’s and makeup artists to assist. We will be taking a new look on the un-dead, being the swift killing machines of the re-makes at first, then the Romero spawn that we love as rigor-mortis kicks in. On to the plot out-

line. As five friends reach their final year of edu-cation, they notice something is amiss in the world. Frenzied radio signals come over from Europe, dead bodies are turning up on the street and rioting is reported in London. Before long, the dead begin to rise in Southampton, adding to their ranks with each new victim. With nowhere else to go, the friends head to the safest place they know, their school. There’s just one problem. Despite be-ing only a few blocks away, there is 10,000 dead in the way.
