Zina Juma was born September 10, 1927 in Ponteix Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Alex and Karia (Lanidean) Hattum. Zina met Hamed Juma at a funeral while she was still in Canada. They started writing to each other for four years before they got married. Zina and Hamed married on November 10, 1950 in Regina, SK. After their marriage, Zina moved to North Dakota and became a US citizen. They began their life together working for various farmers until buying their own farm on March 1, 1969 near Ross, ND where they raised their three sons. She was a very good gardener and known for her great baking, cooking, and canning. Zina was a hard working farm wife and mother, whose years of hard work slowly took their toll on her health. As she grew tired in her late years, she required special care by a special person, Maria Morales. Maria went over and above her “daily” duties to ensure Zina was cared for. Zina is survived by her husband, Hamed, Ross; three sons, Sam (Beverly), Ross, Mike (Judy), Williston, and Hamed Jr., Stanley; grandchildren, Jeanine (Jeremy) Saeman, Wing, Raylan (Jessica), Bismarck, David (Marie), Powers Lake, Scott (Brandi), Surrey, Mark (Dakota), Williston, Christine, Stanley; great grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Honrud, Peyton and Nora Saeman, Khloe Juma, Jason, Joe, Alexandra, Benjamin, Cara, Mason, Abigail, Jaxon, Hannah, and Karly Juma; siblings, Kadasie, Kate, and Omar. No Other Love Like Mother’s LoveA Mother’s love is something that no

one can explain,It is made of deep devotion and of

sacrifice and pain,It is endless and unselfish and enduring

come what mayFor nothing can destroy it or take

that love away…It is patient and forgiving when all

others are forsaking,And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest,

brightest gems…It is far beyond defining, it defies

all explanation,And it still remains a secret like the

mysteries of creation…A many splendored miracle man

cannot understandAnd another wondrous evidence of God’s tender,

guiding hand.
