• WNP is comprised of 27 port and 548.2-kilometer shoreline resources of the four cities of Wuhan, Huanggang, Ezhou and Xianning with a planning area of 9,300 k ㎡ .

• In 2010, the throughput capacity of WNP has reached beyond 100 million tons. • In January 2011, the State Council issued a documents emphasizing the

requirement of accelerating the development of Wuhan into a shipping center in the midstream along the Yangtze River

In May 2008, the Provincial Party Committee of Hubei and the People’s Government of Hubei Province have initiated a major strategy of integration of a new area called Wuhan New Port (WNP in the spirit of expanding the functions of Wuhan as a major city and leading the way in the development of Central China.
