Zen Tangles: Harmony/Unity of Line- Criteria & Objectives Students will draw a zen tangle. Students will use a felt tip marker, a sheet of 9 x 12 in. paper with a 1 in. border, a ruler, and graphite for the border and some under-drawing. Students will draw a 1 in. border around the edge of their paper using a straight edge, the border should be in pencil. Follow the template on the next two slides. Students can draw anything (keep it school appropriate), and should not hesitate to include doodles of any kind. Students may draw outside of their 7 x 10 in. border to make the edges of their composition vibrate. The objective of this lesson is to doodle, explore simple prior knowledge of designs and patterns. The secondary objective is to measure and create a border for an artwork. Taijitu
