The OceanapoembyAedanCoger,Grade5
I bent down and with my hands grasped the cool sand on my feet.
The wind blows the sand around me like a ring of fire.
I breathe heavily and stand up slowly.
I feel the gentle wind softly blows at my face.
I feel relaxed and happy.
The ocean makes a soft sound that reminds me of fragile shells clashing in a melody.
The waves rub against my feet and I feel the cool, salty water lightly spray my
legs. The dim sky and the white, white clouds move ever so slightly.
I walk slowly into the water.
I run my fingers through the blue and green water.
I see the sunset as I walk closer and closer, soon the water is up to my knees.
I look up at the lovely sky and stay there for a moment.
I realize that I belong and I am meant to be here.

Nature Walk apoembyKimberlyCummings,Grade2
One good early morning I was walking on the beach, and I saw a dried up fish. It smelled gross.
I saw water splashing onto the sand. It was pretty hot when I was there.
I saw seagulls were flying above the water. I enjoy walking on the beach.

The dog had a furry look and the smelliest breath in town. And barked so loud he scared a cat right off the ground. Then a little boy patted him on the head. The boy took him home and kept him under his bed.Forever!

The Robot Invader: Part 1a story by Jonah Caum, Grade 5
Hi, my name is Unit 245. Our mission is to take
over the world. The way we will do that is take
over an intelligent baby’s brain right when it is
born. Then we will send signals to our home planet,
Mars. Wait! A baby has just been born, time to go
tell Master...
TRANSMISSION ENDED.
Back on Earth.“Look at him. Isn’t he beautiful?” says Mandy, holding her new baby.
“Yeah, what should we name him?” asked Bill.
“Jack, Jack MacPie”
“I love it.” Bill and Mandy MacPie lived in Springfield, Vermont. Little did they know, that their baby was about to be taken over by unknown lifeforms.
Back on Mars.“HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,” laughs the Master. “Soon we
will rule the world!” yells Master.
“Uh...Master, who will take over Jack’s brain?”
“You, Unit 245. You....”

From an Owl’s Point of View…Viewpoint 1 byBellaGrisczenkow,Grade2
When it was winter night when I was trying to sleep these two people came with a very bright light. I felt like people were entering my forest. I was soooo angry! But then they turned off the very bright light. I didn’t know what they were doing. I flew over to a different tree. They saw my shadow. Then they went out of my forest.
Viewpoint 2 byEverettMosher,Grade2
I’m an owl. When people came into the woods I heard nothing but saw them. I’m sure they were people. I couldn’t have been mistaken. I felt angry when they intruded and came into my territory.

No Enda story by Nadya Grisczenkow, Grade 6
I couldn’t believe it happened. No one knew. No one was prepared. No one had thought about the end. It was supposed to be a day that never happened. A huge mistake that no one had ever thought about. People didn’t even know it could happen. But that’s not what they said. They walked with a stride that left me with no words. “Your life is being shut down.” We had no other choice. We were done. The end is here.
