B Okayama Korakuen Garden 300 KORAKUEN Garden is the principal japanese style garden, who is representative of the culture of GENROKU era. Build on the early time of EDO period, by the second owner of OKAYAMA-HAN (HAN is old administrative divition), IKEDA TSUNAMASA, more than 300 years ago. Now, KORAKUEN Garden is recognized as one of three most beautiful garden in Japan.

2 (1597 ) 400 OKAYAMA Castle, who was build in 1597, has more than 400 years of history. It was the main castle of UKITAclan, in the SENGOKU period. After clan UKITA, clan KOBAYAKAWA and IKEDA owned too that castle about 300 years. This black castle is called also "U-jo" ("U" is a cormorant).

2000YUMEJI TAKEHISA, who come from OKAYAMA, is artist, poet, and was flourished in MEIJI and TAISHO era. YUMEJI Art Museum collects about 2,000 works created by YUMEJI. You can see the KAKEJIKU (hanging picture), BYOBU (folding screen), woodcut, sketch, or books designed by YUMEJI. In the SETOUCHI City, the house where YUMEJI was born is preserved and exposed.
