Background Zar Spring Manufacturing Company was established in 1964, starting its operation under the license of Bruninghaus, a famous German firm.Zar began Manufacturing leaf springs for heavy and light duty vehicles with an annual capacity of 15000 tons.Since 1998 Zar has been producing parabolic spring in the fully-automated production lines. The corresponding know-how was acquired from famous German companies. Currently Zar pro-duces various types of parabolic springs with the annual capac-ity of 3000 tons.At present, Zar Spring Mfg Co. is highly graded among the few top spring manufacturers of the Middle East.

The company’s products are used in many types of vehicles , including passenger cars, vans, pickups, buses, trucks and trailers. At present, Zar is a member of SAIPA Automo-tive MFG. Group and supplies its products to about fifteen leading automotive manufactur-ers which are under license of Kia Mortors, Volvo, Iveco, Nissan, Peugeot, Mazda, etc.Additionally, Zar exports its products to more than 20 countries around the world. (more than 2000 tons per year)

Customers’ orders are transferred to the Engineering Department, where the optimum production proce-dures are decided upon based on the results derived from careful study and analysis of the ordered items. Manufacturing drawings are prepared by means of ad-vanced designing software and then sent to the corre-sponding departments namely Production Department.

Design, Engineering and Construction

According to the specifications being raised by the clients, the sample products are manufactured and sent to the customer for final approval; in case the customers’ criteria are met the item shall be produced in quantity. To guarantee the high quality of the products, careful studies are carried out to assure supplying the raw material from the most qualified steel manufacturers of the world.

Stabilizer BarThe manufacturing process for stabilizer bars includes cutting steel bars, ma-chining, heating, forming, and cooling by oil bath then the parts are conveyed to tempering furnaces for adjusting hardness.After tempering the process includes shot peening, straightening,crack test by mag-netic particle method washing then they will be painted by paint powder technique.

Leaf spring preparing sectionBeing approved by the Quality Control Dept. the raw material will be conveyed to the production lines to be cut into the right shapes and siz-es utilizing different cutting, forming, taper rolling, punching, trimming.

Heat treatment sectionAt this stage the spring leaves are heated up to 900 heat treatment and then pressed to the required forms and curves. The springs thus formed are then cooled down in an oil bath, then they will be conveyed to the tempering furnace for adjusting their hardness. The produced leaves are then shot blasted prior to be transferred to the assembly lines.

Assembly sectionThe leaf spring stes are assembled at assembly tables and sent for the final operation. The products are then tested according to the required specifications, and after obtaining the final approval of Quality Control Dept. single leaf and parabolic springs painted and dispatched to the warehouses.

Torsion Bar The process for manufacturing torsion bars includes cutting, heating, upsetting, machining, rack rolling, induction hardening, presetting, shot peening, and washing, then they will be painted by paint powder tech-nique.
