Comprehensive seatbelt system

When we say Zafira is passenger friendly we mean it! Proper

lap and diagonal inertia-reel seat belts for all seven occupants.

Front body-lock seatbelt pretensioners and front passenger

seatbelt force limiter. We take safety as seriously as you do.

Complete protection

Twin front airbags. Side-impact protection from high strength

beams, built into the doors. A patented pedal release system that

helps protect your legs and feet in the event of a severe frontal

impact. You may never need them but it’s still reassuring to know

they’re there, right? You can even specify a host of optional

safety features such as front seat side-impact and full-size

curtain airbags and active-safety front seat head restraints.

ABS, ESP and traction control

Standard on all models, ABS has been shown to reduce

stopping distances, especially in the wet and can even help

you to steer your way out of trouble. Traction control (also

widely available) helps prevent your wheels spinning under

heavy acceleration on slippery surfaces, while Electronic

Stability Programme (ESP) helps you maintain control of

the car in difficult situations. You’ll find it on GSi or as an

option on most other models.

ISOFIX child seat system

All Zafira models feature special ISOFIX mountings on the outer

second-row seats – allowing you to fit the new generation ISOFIX

child seats. You’ll find more on these and other Vauxhall

accessories in the Specification insert.

Spacetravel | Travelling in comfort to that important business appointment, it’s easy

to lose sight of the fact that your compact Zafira has the luggage capacity of a large

estate car! But when the pressure’s on to deliver, Zafira can swallow a heavy load

with ease. What’s more, it switches from seven-seater people carrier to two-seater

carry-all in just seconds. And the seats stay where they belong – inside the car. The

surprises don’t end there. With drinks holders, door pockets, even ‘secret’ lockers,

hidden away in the luggage compartment, this car’s like one big filing system on wheels!

Sitting pretty

There’s just something about sitting high above the traffic that

makes you feel good about life. ‘High’ is a whole lot safer, too:

you have a better view of the road ahead and other drivers can

see you coming! Zafira’s facia design is also a model of what

the engineers call ‘ergonomic efficiency’ (in other words, all

the important controls fall readily to hand!) Adjustable steering

on most models and a height adjustable driver’s seat add to

the feeling of being in control.

Hands off!

Wherever you’re heading, wherever you’re going to be parked

up, there’s no need to worry about security. That’s because

Zafira is protected by some of the toughest anti-theft devices

around. Remote central locking with deadlocks. An alarm

system on some models. Not to mention our most effective

immobiliser ever. Simply pull the key out of the ignition and

the car is effectively out of action.

Tune in and turn on!

With a fully-featured stereo radio/CD player – complete with

steering wheel mounted controls – on most models, Zafira makes

it easy to catch the coolest tracks or access 24hr news updates.

Our optional satellite navigation system takes the guesswork out

of unfamiliar journeys or choose the optional DVD system and

those in the back can watch a movie, connect to a games console

or even watch that favourite holiday clip through a camcorder!

Loads of sun and fresh air

Sunroofs are great for letting a little extra light in – or some

extra fresh air if you’re parked up for a while. Zafira drivers can

specify two – one at the front and one at the back – complete

with sliding sun blinds to keep the glare out. If you really want to

chill out, Zafira’s air-conditioning system is great at taking the

heat out of long journeys, Electronic Climate Control does much

the same job, but in a more controlled and sophisticated way.

Simply stylish | Whether you’re enjoying a fun night out with friends or simply

revisiting a favourite restaurant (without the children, naturally!) there’s something

about Zafira’s neat yet purposeful character that blends seamlessly into the smartest

background. Little things, like the sweep of the bonnet line, the chrome grille, the

discreet styling cues – even the colours we offer. And when you’re driving home, spare

a thought for those whose MPV may not be quite as stylish and compact as your model.

Come to think of it, they’re probably still struggling with that tricky parking space.

Great engines

Zafira’s engines score top marks for performance, economy

and sheer, unadulterated driveability. And we’re not just talking

about the awesome 200PS GSi Turbo unit. With petrol, diesel

and state-of-the-art dualfuel models, there’s a Zafira unit to

satisfy the hardened enthusiast. Even the entry-level 1.6i 16v

is no slouch! Indeed, with multi-valve cylinder heads, ‘drive by

wire’ throttle control and all the latest environmental goodies,

Zafira engines are ahead of the game in most areas.

Classy chassis

Zafira handles nothing like the way most people would expect

an MPV to handle. It’s all thanks to a brilliantly sorted chassis.

Specially tuned to give you the best possible combination of

agility, ride comfort and secure roadholding, Zafira sticks to the

road, even with seven on board. For a more detailed technical

Electro-hydraulic power steering

You’d expect a car like Zafira to come with power steering. What

you might not expect is the ‘electro-hydraulic’ bit. Essentially

this does everything you’d expect of power steering – lots of

assistance at low speeds, easier parking, that sort of thing –

but it uses less fuel into the bargain. It’s all down to an electric

motor which replaces the usual mechanical pump. So you get

maximum power assistance and lower fuel bills.

Slick transmissions

Every one of Zafira’s outstanding power units is matched with the

optimum choice of transmission. Choose from five-speed manual

and – with most engines – a four-speed electronically controlled

automatic unit, the latter complete with Economy, Sport and

Winter driving modes. It lets you vary your driving style to suit

your mood – or accommodate the Great British weather!
