HELLO FROM MRS DICKINSON, MRSARMSTRONG AND MRS DENNIS

• We hope you are all ok. We miss you all lots but we are glad you are safe in their own homes.

The book of the week this week is ‘Snail Trail’ which links to our

topic ‘Creepy Crawlies’.

Orange activities are the easiest ones to do and then the Green activities are slightly harder.

The Blue activities are then extra challenge for their children. Start on the orange ones and

work their way through to their child's own ability.

• Friday- Breathing Hands: Try this to help your child to calm down. Spread one hand out like a star. Use the index finger on their other hand to trace the outline of their star hand. Now encourage them to take a deep breath in as they move to the top of their thumb. Breathe out as they move down between their thumb and first finger and take another breath in as you move to the top of their first finger. Repeat until you have taken five slow, deep breaths.

DAY 5: R.E• Ramadan is an important event for Muslim people.

It takes place in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This calendar is based on the moon.

• During the month of Ramadan, Muslim people will fast. This means that they cannot eat or drink

anything between sunrise and sunset. Muslims believe that fasting allows them to think about other

people and their actions. Young children and older people are not expected to fast, although

sometimes, they do. Iftar is a very important meal during Ramadan. This is the time when Muslims will

break their fast and are able to eat again.

• Eid al-Fitr is the festival that marks the end of Ramadan and the fast. It lasts for three days. The

festival starts when the new moon is seen in the sky. Saying prayers is an important part of both

Ramadan and Eid. During Eid, Muslims thank Allah for the help and strength he gave them when they

fasted.

• Muslims take part in many activities to celebrate Eid like speaking to their family, buying new clothes

and decorate their hands with henna designs.

Can you make a Eid card for a friend who

may celebrate Eid in your class?

Muslim people will say ‘Eid

Mubarak!’, which means

‘Have a blessed Eid!’.
