Tool, SolidWorks FEA tool or any other FE software. The meshed solid shaft in ANSYS is depicted

In total, 13860 solid elements are utilized in simulations. You can determine the number of

elements in FE analysis considering mesh independence study as mentioned in the FEA Tutorial.

Von-Mises stress results are found as 164.8 MPa in maximum. Maximum von-Mises stress locates

at the upper surface of the fixed end.

Factor of safety for the shaft is found around 1.5 as depicted below. Factor of safety for the interior

locations are greater than 1.5 as expected since outer surface is more critical for failure due to

torsion.
