The everlasting truth from the Shaswat Pragya of Shredhyey Yogrishi Param Pujya Swamiji Maharaj

Th e formula of completeness and success of life

Eternal wisdom

1. Th ere should be no alternative to the pledge and to fulfi ll the sacred oath taken by us, every eff ort should be made. Physically, mentally, psychologically and spiritually, we are independent though we depend on others in view of economical, social, family and political aspects. But this is little trouble, which could be overcome though, it gives little pain. Th e completeness of the life is in the manhood. Th e external manhood eff ort (purushurth) takes up to prosperity while internal manhood takes us to the extreme of `Samadhi` (trance).

2. When we perform service and meditation, without any selfi shness we receive three gift s from the almighty. First one is the best, refi ned, positive and complete judicious intelligence, the second one is the best powerful and completely healthy body and the third one is patronage of the best and competent parents and most intelligent and effi cient teachers. Enjoying the worldly pleasures will not give us good fortune and more we enjoy the pleasures, more the blessings of the god for our good work decays. Hence, a complete pious and rational person has the duty that he starts the public service form 10 per cent and later extend it to 100 per cent. Th us, service to the mankind is the platonic service. Th is service has been named as `brahma karma`, `akam`, `aapt kam`, or divine duty in Vedas, philosophy, Gita or Upnishads. We shall get rid of our inconsiderate wishes and live life, in accordance to the `Vedas`, teachers, `Shastras` and the soul. We shall not dis-honour or violate the wish, order, inspiration or the direction of the almighty in the soul.

3. In the life, we shall take some decisions very fi rmly and live life with authority. Such tendency gives divinity, greatness, sage ship, divinity and completeness. We could easily remove macro-defects from the life immediately like non-vegetarianism, intoxication, anger, revenge, reaction, violence, falsehood or if we say in proper words, any action against the `yama-niyam`. Dilute the macro defects of the life slowly with fi rmness and one day, you will succeed.

Social, economical, practical, family and other mutual relationship should be maintained on the principle of generosity, co-existence and reciprocity but we should be fi rm and committed completely, while following Vedic principles preached by the seers, our conduct, guru and the organization and there shall be no compromise or wavering attitude. Firmness and generosity should be two guiding forces or models for us, which we shall follow with commitment, which are of much importance in the life. If we don’t follow these two principles, pain, injustice, non-religion and disorder are bound to happen. I myself live on the same principle and people, who have aff ection to me; I pray all of them to live on this formula. We will have to be fi rm towards self, look as god in every individual and should be generous towards the humanity. We all will have to move towards complete truth with complete divinity.

`Kapalbhati Pranayam`

n Acharya Balkrishna

Editorial

In the fi eld of yoga diff erent discussions are being held on the word `Kapal bhati`. Some people opined that it is an action or `karma` but no Pranayam while in the Patanjali Yogpeeth and the literature been published from here, it is placed under the category of Pranayam. Th us, some sort

of confusion has been created, so I am presenting some facts here.First-of-all, we will have to decide as what is the defi nition of `Pranayam` and whether Kapalbhati

falls under its ambit? As Kapalbhati is identifi ed as `karma` or `kriya` i.e. action in `shatkarma`, no objection can be raised that Pranayam is a kind of `karma` or `kriya`. Th us, Kapalbhati is a Pranayam, it has been also placed in the category of `karma` in `shatkarma`. Th us, it is specifi c quality or magnifi cence that `Kapalbhati` is a `Pranayam` and also included in the refi ning activity under `Shatkarma`.

Otherwise also, Bhrastika, Suryabhedam, Ujjaiyi, Seetakari, Sheetali, Anulom-vilom and Bhramari and other Pranayams refi ne impurities and frailty of the body, mind and organs. Th us, if we accept all Pranayams as refi nery process, there should be no objection as every Pranayam is a `karma`. `Hathpradipika` says that some `acharyas` accept purifi cation of all impurities and frailty with Pranayam. Th ey do not consider `Shatkarma` process important for it. Pranayamairaive Sarve Sushyanti Bhala Iti,Acharyaknantu Keshanchidnayam Karma na Samtam. (Hath – 2/38). Pranayam purifi es all impurities and hence, many `yogis` or `acharyas` do not fi nd other refi nery processes important. As in Yoga Darshan, `tapa, `swadhyay` and `ishwar pranidhan` all are `kriya yog`, rule and `ashtang yoga` too. First-of-all, I try to speak out the explanation of Pranayam in the `Shastra` tradition and in context of the core Pranayam. Th e word Pranayam has found reference in Manu Smriti, Gita, Yoga Darshan, Hathyoga and Purans. In Sanskrit language, meaning of any word depends on root and suffi x. Pranayam is a derivative word, which has been made by two words `Prana` and `Ayam`. `Ayam` means dimensions, extensions, control, defi ciency, prohibition or perception. Th e meaning of word `ayam` in context of `Pranayam` is discontinuance of `prana` i.e. the normal breathing, defi ciency, prohibition and control.Maharshi Patanjali and Vyas Muni have given the same defi nition.Tasminsati shwas prashwasyagartiviched Pranayam (Yoga Darshan 2/49)Satyasanjaye Bahasya Vayorachmanam shvasam, koshthayasya vayodnisaranam prashyas.Tayogartiviccheda ubhaya Pranayam. (Yoga Darshan- Vyas Bhashya 1/49)Pranayam Tridhaprokta: Purak kumbhk rechkah. (Hath 2/71)In this connection, it is written in Yogavashishtha – Trayana paurvaparyene prathmabhumikaya sadhyanushthanniyamadektva vyawaharoppatte,Na tu tadrashvakyeshu militanamev pranayamtatva vivkshitam (Yo Va)Vkshyaman chaturvidh pranayamsyey samanaylakshnam gativicchedam,Shostrokatritya swabhavikgate pratishedh-ityartha.

5 Ð SeptemberU 2015

Sach rechkpurakkumbhkeshvnugatah (Yo Va page 268)So, the conclusion can be drawn that it is the refusal of the normal pace of Pranayam, its discontinuance, defi ciency or control. In Gita also, the explanation of Pranayam is the same. Apanejuhatiprana pranepanah tathaspare,Apnespanvritto juhati prakshipanti prana pranavranti purkasya pranayam kuvantityartha. Pranepanam tathaspare johati rechkakhyam cha pranayam kurvantityete.Pranapangati mukhnasikabhya vayornigamanah pranasya gatistdiparyayena dhogmana mpanasya te pranapanmati ete rudhva, nirudhya pranayamparayana pranayam tatpara kumbhkavyam pranayam kurvantivarthyam. (Shankarbhashyam).Th e derivation from Gita also makes it clear that to hold the normal speed of prana is `purak`, `rechak` or `kumbhak` pranayam. Now we come to Kapalbhati. Why it has been named as Pranayam or why it has been kept it in the category of `Pranayam` and even the bigger question is that whether it is in accordance with the `shastra`. So, fi rst we see the Yoga Darshan as preached by Maharshi Patanjali. Pacchardanvidharanabhya va pranasya (Yoga Darshan 1/34)Koshthaysa Vyornasikaputabhya prayatna visheshadwavamanam pracchardanam.Vidharanam Pranayam. Tabhya va manasa sthithi sampadyate.Th e `Vyas Bhashya` of Yoga Darshan says `eff ortful expulsion of breath from both the nostrils and its hold is the process of Pranayam. In Yoga Darshan, the process of Pranayam has been explained but it has not been given proper noun. We should have given a proper noun means relevant name to it and hence this Pranayam of Yoga Darshan has been given as Kapalbhati. Th e logic behind is that in `Hatha Pradipika`, this process has been mentioned as Kapalbhati. Th is is our logic, in accordance with the `Shastras`.Atha Kapalbhati:Bhastravllohkarasya Rechpuro SasambhramoKapalbhatirvikhyata Kaphadosha Vishoshani. (Hath – 3/36).Pushing the breath out like bellows of blacksmith forcefully means laxative and hold it normally or supplement it is called Kapalbhati.

Kapalbhati falls in the category of Pranayam a wherever there will be the process of laxative, factitive or `kumbhak` will be held, at all the place Pranayam will come into practice. Th is is the tradition of `gurus` and shastras. Th e meaning of Kapalbhati in words is it is the union of `Kapal`, means the forehead and ̀ bhati` comes from the ̀ mastiksha` i.e. brain and bha-dipto, which means enlightened, shining, aura or vigour. Th is is Kapalbhati Pranayam. Not thousands but crores of people have performed Pranayam and it is our experience that it treats many diseases, including incurable one, supplies hemoglobin and other nutritious elements, it awakens `ashata chakra`, treats sexual diseases, controls sexual desires and gives aura and brightness on the face. People, who perform Kapalbhati gets brightness on the face and if, Kapalbhati is performed for nine months, the person gets extremely glorious. So, the denomination is extreme correct and relevant.

Patanjali Ayurved is conducting a widespread research to stop the oppression of this body endowed by

almighty. In Indian Ayurveda, a medicine is that which gives a person the sense of being healthy and make him free from diseases. Since our body is directly connected with the nature, therefore a disease is also born due to natural imbalance. In this situation, a medicine has to be made from natural ingredients. Moreover, if we will use any chemical as a medicine for treatment of diseases, it will sooner or later defi nitely show its adverse impact on our health. For eternally good health, it is necessary to fi nd a medicine for mental or physical problems from the nature itself.Patanjali Yogpeeth has conducted intense research on herbs and their prescribed dose and has come up with this series of "Health in Herbs". Th is time here is the description of the properties of eagle wood. Th ese description can be found in detain in the book named- Jadi Buti Rahasya.

(Ahead of last issue)

We are trying to spot problems in the fields like medical science, agriculture, industries, art, culture, music, literature, government, administration, management and media. The problems faced by the country are - poverty, lack of knowledge, lack of education , deprivation, injustice, exploitation, inequality, violence, falsehood, greed, corruption , blackmoney, scams and scandals, adulteration, war mentality, religious bigotry, etc . Its reason is the lack of the kind of education which a child should get in his childhood.Vedic knowledge and modern science will help the world to produce divine leadership, divine characters and divine activities and this kind of education can be provided through our humble services. We are confident that our service will help India to emerge as World Leader in the field of economy, defence, spiritualism, etc and our nation will get rid of deprivation. We are in fact sons and daughters of sages. Therefore, there has to be divinity in our behaviour. This has to be our main identity. Divinity lies in our gens. This has to be

developed fully. We have to keep ourselves away from three things: One is that we should not let ourselves deteriorate our moral values, while living in the world of morality, we have the duty to lead all on the path of Yoga and Dharma.Second thing is previous birth's destiny , this birth's wrong habits, nature and sanskar etc, despite experiencing such things around us, we should not allow them happen in our lives. Reverence to almighty, is to see his existence in all the things found around us in the world , inspiration of almighty in our soul, knowledge in our brain, sensitivity in the heart, and in the whole body presence of almighty as the essence is the real reverence to almighty. Worshiping almighty is viewing him in idol form and expressing full gratitude towards him is the real worshiping of almighty.Meditation is to focus on the fact that almighty is the source of all our activities and functions , he is the source of the peace which we experience, etc .Lets come and realise this form of almighty in our heart and be a part of a new beginning. To continue...

is very important for life long good health. According to National Sleep Institute, sleep is necessary for proper function of a person's body.Sleep

Sleeplessness and its natural-yogic treatment

l Sleep keeps our heart healthy.l Reduces tension.l Controls the body's excitements.l Keeps us active.l Improves our memory.l Controls our weight.l Improves immune system of the body.l Controls the danger from depression.l Rejuvenates our body.

There are fi ve stages of sleep. Th e fi rst two stages are called NREM (Non-rapid eye movement) and REM (Rapid eye

movement). Four stages are concerned to NREM stage and fi ft h one comes under REM.

a. First stage: It is the primary stage of sleep. In this stage, a bit light sleep happens, and it is the stage between sleep and wake up. Th e span of this stage happens to be 5-10 minutes.

b. Second stage: In this stage of sleep, the body temperature begins to go down, heart beat also declines, span of this stage is 20 minutes.

c. Th ird stage: Th is is the stage when a person moves from light sleep to deem sleep stage.

d. Fourth stage: Th is is the stage when a person is in

deep sleep. Its span is 30 minutes. It is this stage when a person urinates on the bed or walks while in the stage of sleeping.

e. REM (Rapid Eye Movement) : Th is is the fi ft h stage of sleep, most of dreams come in this stage. During this stage, breathing and activities of mind increases while the muscles become very calm.

In the situation of sleeplessness: Many people complain about their sleeplessness. Due to lack of sleep your whole day's activities , hunger, balance and your immune system are badly hit. It increases the chances of being caught by the diseases. Excess of sleep causes heart related diseases, diabetes, obesity, and

also on immune system. It also increases chances of many other diseases. Excess sleep is also bad for heart, may lead to diseases like diabetes, obesity and can also cause memory related problems. Th erefore, for good health we should take suffi cient sleep. Here we have a chart which presents age-wise sleeping hours.

Age limit Sleeping hours 2 month old child - 12-18 hours

3 months to 1 year - 14-15 hours1 year to three years- 12-14 years3-5 years - 11-13 hours5-12 years- 10-11 hours12-18 hours- 85-10 hoursAbove 18- 7.5-9 hours

If suffi cient sleep is not taken, the chances of early aging grows and a person feels anxiety while sleep repairs the cells of our body and brings the toxicants out of our body. Th erefore we must take at least 6-8 hours sleep regularly.

Yoga is a solutionIf you are suff ering from the problem of sleeplessness

or insomnia, yoga can be a best solution. Yoga

improves blood circulation in the body. It balances our nervous system, brings out toxic substances out of our body and rejuvenates it.

Regular yoga is eff ective to cure many diseases like sleeplessness, irregular sleep, reduces tension of whole day and helps us to take sound sleep in the night. Th e yoga which is done with awareness they help to restore chemicals of the brain and keeps it in balanced state. It is a must that a person should maintain the

Complex carbohydrates: Whole grain fl our's chapaties- Brownrice, avoid carbohydrates like cake, cookies, pastries and other sugar rich food which reduce the level of serotorin level which has a bad impact on sleep.

Heart healthy food: Unsaturated fats, like Alsi oil, soya oil, walnut oil and sunfl ower oil maintain good health of heart and increases the level of serotorim.

l One should also avoid watching exciting TV programmes or fi lms in the night as they can disturb your sleep. Instead, it will be better to listen soft music, mantras, reading books etc.

l We need to develop our own sleeping style as it is never advisable to sleep in day time. It disturbs our biological clock. Ideally, it is better to sleep for half an hour in the day and eight hours in the night.

l Before going to bed in the night one should review his whole day's activities and his bed should be cleaned till the level of satisfaction.

Spiritualism

Mind is full of amazing miraculous capabilities

Acharya Pradyumna ji

By keeping mind in view, a very high song has been sung in Yajush Mantras- Such a mind of mine be

full of Shiva Sankalpa, as auspicious can be produce only auspicious things with Shiva Sankalpa. If it does not happen, it will be like an inapt charioteer who either lands him master's chariot in trouble or fails to take him to his destination. Mind is also like a charioteer and it can also do the same.

Th e sadhaks who see mind as an enemy, they say that it is the mind which gives birth to all sorts of wrong things. All pranks, mischiefs, all wickedness , all deceits are fi lled in the mind. In the condition of lures, troubles, it is the mind which fi rst leaves a person in trouble. It is fully ruthless, cruel, sensual, greedy, selfi sh, lustful, sinner, envious. Th e mind full of arrogance, don't know what makes a person to do. It puts Sadhaks in big troubles and itself steps back. It is the genesis of sin. It is friend of sin. It has got nothing to do with Satya, Shiv and Sundar. It has just only to do with its lustful tendency. Ahead of all, if the whole world goes in the well, it does not care.

Maharaj ji is of the view that a Sadhak is required to be careful from their it by considering it as biggest enemy. It is so treacherous that it suddenly strikes and get back,

it will take away all your prosperity therefore Sadhaks should not rely

on it even a bit. Its cruelty cannot be defi ned in words.

It you trust on it even a bit, it is such an enemy

which will one day on getting a right opportunity it gets inside the body and d e s t r o y s intestines. He oft en cautions the

Sadhaks- O my dear Sadhaks, there

is a cobra in you home, it is so poisonous that its

bite will cause your immediate death.

It is such a hidden fi re which simmers from inside and on getting the

opportunity, it destroys your whole property. It is that crocodile to which you have mistakenly considered a wooden piece which is to be used to get across the river. Th ough you are at fault by doing so. It will engulf you very soon.

Tendencies of mind:Kaam-Chikitsa-Vichikitsa-Shraddha-Ashraddha-

Page 19: ys-sep-2015-eng

Dhritih-Adhritih- Hrih-Dhih-Bhih are the various forms of mind. Without mind, there is no existence of sex, resolution, etc. Deep sleep is never meant for the mind. Th erefore the two do not exist there.

Th e various forms of desire in a person, it happens according to a person's Gyan-Sanskar. Sanskar is the best, the level of knowledge is high, in this situation, a person's desires are also to be the best, based on Karma. Otherwise, ominous things and such Karmas strike back. Rise and decline of Gyan and Sanskar is based on Tatsajatiya Gyan and Karma and similarly by going ahead it gets associated with the mind and it forms an endless series. Auspicious or ominous desires make a person to make eff orts to achieve them. Th is is called the pledge.

Similarly, on any issue, doubt is called Vichikitsa. When it is done to clear the doubt, then it is good but when it is done for wrong purpose it gives you massive loss. Whatever it might be the forms of doubt or Vichikitsa, it is the mind which is their medium. God, truth, dharma, oneself, result and in the previous births, etc, deep belief is called Shraddha. Injustice, partiality, etc are ominous qualities toward which there happen to be lack of respect. And a Sadhak's great welfare is ensured. But when the truth and dharma, almighty, etc are not trusted then it invites great destruction.

Sorrow and joy, profi t and loss, etc how so much they mighty be, the almighty, truth, dharma, etc are to be trusted and respected one should not give up. It is called Dhriti. Adhriti and Ashraddha have two diff erent forms. Being not fi rm in wrong activities and in this form, Adhriti is useful but in Sukarma or in one's resolution of life if there is Adhriti then it is destructive. Hesitant tendency of mind is called Hrih (shyness) which is born in two forms - one in doing false things and second in

experiencing one's incapabilities in doing true works. Th e tendency of doing best works is called Dhih or Dharanavati Buddhi or wisdom. If this mind acquires wrong

tendencies then it can prove to be destructive. Th e tendency

which is called fear is called bhih. For good life and thinking, fear is

must. But sometimes, a person feels fear on following an unknown path. It is no way a

right thing to do.

When our mind becomes a friendWith regard to mind, Maharaj ji has advised that mind

should be considered as a friend. He is of the view that the way a friend does not do any harm to his friend the same way if our mind become our friend, it always involves itself to ensure our well being.

Methods to make the mind a friend, it is required to pray before it in the following way:

"O my dear mind, you are my brilliant and dearest friend. I under you leadership have been sailing my ship under your guidance successfully. I have full faith on you. You will never stab in my back.If any obstacle of this world or that world creates any hinderance in my ways then it is only you on whom infi nite power can be trusted by me. I have trust that you will destroy such powers. Who other is there to bear your power. In front of your immense power, all the enemies are destroyed in the way as a Vajraa does. I have experienced your power."

"You are stable and engrossed in yourself like a sage. Th ere you are full of intense power like a brave soldier. Th e work which you decide to do , even Triloki cannot stop you. You are my eternal power and most worshiped deity of my heart , you are the best friend, you are like Indra, you are like Kuber, troubles are like garlands of your neck. O my mind you are my true friend. You are

Page 20: ys-sep-2015-eng

similar feeling as one feels in normal situation on being touched by others, the same thing is felt when we are sleeping and no body is there.

It is also possible through mind:

Th rough mental power, the skin is not in only sensory

organs but the feelings can be found in all sensory nerves. Th e way there is no smell, but the nostrils start sensing the smell, ears start listening,

eyes see the face, though they seem to be simple phenomenon

but it should be noted that how our mind fi lls us with the same kind

of sensation as which we sense in wake up state. It is possible only due to concentration

of mind. Our purpose to cite the aforementioned incidents is

not to promote superstition but if our mind gets to be fully trustworthy then in that special condition it is full of enormous power. Th e whole body system starts to follow the command of the mind. Is it a small thing? Whoever teaches us whatever, our mind learns them quickly and it shows a tendency to work accordingly. When it is taught to our mind that material things give pleasure, it has tendency towards that. And when it is taught to it that material things are bad then again it shows tendency the same way.

Similarly, when it comes to the mind that I am in peace, the whole body system comes into harmony. When it comes to the mind that I my mind is disturbed, the whole body system is disturbed. When we fi ll in the mind that mind is the biggest enemy, then we start considering it our biggest enemy. When we have a tendency to consider the mind as the best friend it appears the same way.

an incarnation of a mother's love, and you are an ocean of eternal patience like a Guru. I cannot describe your greatness in words. Th e only thing that I want from you is that you always pour your like like a dearest friend. May I also always be full of pure love for you. In the journey of life I need your cooperation to move ahead in life."

Mind is ready to learn

Whatever is told to mind it learns them quickly. It was proved in a news story published in Navbharat Times' August 1989 issue. It was said in the story that a person by changing his way of thinking and shunning negativity and relying on self-confi dence, can accomplish everything which has been impossible in the eyes of people. Th is was proved when a Dutch national Emil Stilband walked on amber. With the help of mental strength , he successfully enthused all the 104 viewers thronged there to do the same what he had done. All of those who were present there were full of great enthusiasm.

US' Robin's Research Institute's European region director Mister Stilband fi rst delivered his speech on Mind's Enormous Power and inspired people to rely on it and then suddenly started walking on the amber by calling it cold grass.

During this a fi ve years old girl Surabhi too walk on them with great joy, Mr Kulkarni of Birla Planetarium, and his kids besides others also enjoyed walking on the ambers. In his speech, Mr Kulkarni described that human mind has infi nite strength and stressed on the need to protect it.

In this practical example , we have known about enormous strength of mind. Many a times, while sleeping, it is felt that someone is touching us, it is like

Cow milk full of omega - 3 and Swarnarasn Dr. D N, Retd. Senior Medical Offi cer

is considered to be the best in the world, she is considered in Indian culture as sacred as Kaamdhenu. Cow is also being a

symbol of our devotion. In India's every walk of life, whether it be agriculture, trade, literature, science or religion, cow has a special place. From birth to death, cow is considered to be very sacred. Every body organ of cow is be-lieved to be places of deities. Th e idea that a cow's body is home to all the four Vedas is based on science. When a cow shows aff ection to her calf the foam which comes out of her mouth makes the place sacred. In every cow product, there works a special kind of science. Now it is time to have a scientifi c out-look towards cow which has to be beyond religion .

Cow

Cow has a beautiful co-exist-ence with the nature. Th is is the reason why a change in

her nature is observed prior to every earthquake, though we fail to under-stand the signals and fall victim to the natural calamity. Cow is the founda-tion of sensitivity and literature, there-fore there is a rule not to feed her stale and rotten food.

21 day colustrumFresh cow milk till 21 days is consid-

ered to be colustrum. It is like nectar and is full of divine properties. It im-proves our immune power and can cure many incurable diseases. Our ancient medical experts have called it Piyush or colustrum and many vital medicines have been prepared aft er long research by the US scientists. Some of these medicines are- Lactopherine, With co-lustrum, bobin colustrum, etc. Indian scientists too should conduct similar research to develop such eff ective medi-cines out of cow milk.

Th ere have come some scientifi c facts to the fore that where a cow drinks water, there fl ows sacred water. Place where cows breath in group, it becomes sacred.

Th e areas where there is large popula-tion of cows, they are largely free from diseases. Cow dung is used a fertiliser and it is good for fertility of soil.

Cow's anatomyTh ere are four chambers in a cow's

rays of atom bombs. All nutrients for mental and physical vitality are found in Desi cow milk. Similarly, we can preserve our natural resources by using cow dung for making biogas.

Th e smoke produced from burning of cow dung cake destroys harmful germs and insects in the ambiance. Cow dung is eff ective in destroying ra-diation from atomic reactors.

Laborious animal:Cow milk is considered as nectar in Indian tradition. In ancient time,

there was no system of tying her at one place and feeding it this way. Th ere was also no dairy industry those days. Th e environment in which cows were kept was free from harmful chemicals and pollution. However, it has been scientifi cally proved that products of a cow which is fed on fresh food and water are capable in curing many diseases. In Ayurveda, there is extensive description of feeding a cow in fresh environment and fresh food.

Cow has a nature to graze while walking and wandering. She is most hap-py when she is allowed to wander from one place to another. Unfortunately, due to dairy culture, the cows are not allowed to wander and hence her milk is become harmful.

Source of Omega- 3Importance of Omega- 3 is now being recognised since 2000 due to its

eff ect on a person's mind and mental abilities. Today people are so conscious about using unsaturated fats in their meal that Omega- 3 has started to be sold in the market as a cure to all major diseases and its trade is of billions of rupees. Th ough this vital nutrient is available in abundance in cow milk. In fact, the cows which are kept at one place and not allowed to wander in search of food, have saturated fats in their milk which cause obesity and bad for our health. On the contrary, wandering cows' milk contains unsatu-rated fats in abundance like Omega - 3 and Omega -6 and they are called EFA necessary fats. It is this fat which is vital for human body. If cows are fed with Khalli, Binaula and dana, their milk will contain saturated and unhealthy fats while green food for her will increase the level of healthy unsaturated fats and consumption of this kind of milk will keep us healthy. Modern science too is also of the view that presence of omega - 3 increases the quantity of DHA (Dehydrogenated Acid) and with this element hu-man brain and eye power develop well and presence of the two is vital for mental growth. Hence cow milk is deemed as nectar.

body-First chamber is called rumen, sec-

ond one is called reticulum, third one is called omasum, fourth one is called abomasum.

Chewing the cud makes her products like milk, dung, urine, etc. pure.

Cow and gold ele-ment:

Th ere is a Suryaketu named nerve in a cow's body which produces gold in her body when her body is exposed to sun rays. Th is is the reason why her milk is yellowish. Cow is the only animal of which spine has Suryaketu. It attracts sun rays towards it. Th e gold produced this way makes all the cow products like butter, milk, ghee, etc yellowish. When consumed, they make our body disease-free. Th e nutrients of cow milk are not destroyed even aft er boiling.

Cow ghee is very eff ective in de-stroying toxic substances in the body. It is also capable in curing insect bite, wound, etc. Russian scientists conclud-ed that the ground which is coated with cow dung can reduce the eff ect of the

Bharat is front-runner in various fi elds

is still front runner in diff erent aspects. Th e former Congress Government was atheist and materialistic and had vex with the tradition of knowledge and education, which was but natural for a political outfi t like his. Albeit, they tried

to keep people and the nation attentive only on economical issue but they miserably failed on that front too. It is not a secret that till a few years back, the Congress and its associates were making hue and cry, saying that the main issue is to remove poverty from the country. Th ey also claimed that the people are deprived of their rights and solving these problems is their basic motto of politics. None of their leader had the farsightedness that Bharat itself is a super power, which will emerge as a strong nation in the years to come. Th ey always talked of the depravity. But despite all such adverse circumstances, the people of the country remained active in such adverse and negative circumstances and now, it is being discussed as the future super economical power at the global scenario. Th ough, none, who were the part of the ruling system, could predict this to happen. Th us, the Government, which was striving hard in the fi eld of economics, could not predict that Bharat will be future global power. Th us, the icons of the previous Government were exposed as they could not predict what is going to happen, in the fi eld in which they claimed to be the master leave apart, other aspects of the governance. And despite what has been said and stated, Bharat is on the driving seat in many of the fi elds. Here is the article.

Bharat

1. Agriculture fi eld – Bharat has always been at the top in the agriculture fi eld and is intense rich in the traditional agriculture related information and knowledge. We have in-depth knowledge of diff erent crops, seeds, varieties of soil, diff erent irrigation systems, fertilizers, process of collection and storage of grains, knowledge of asterism (nakshatra) and sky, climate and atmosphere, the infrastructure and geographical knowledge. In fact, we produce maximum variety of grains in the world with the maximum variation of farming.

2. Forest produce and Forest management area – Bharat is, since decades following the glorious tradition of protecting and conserving forests. We are immensely knowledgeable as far as forest produces are concerned. None of the country has such variety of forest produces.

3. Area of medicine and Ayurveda: Ayurveda has been popular in India since ancient period. Such elaborated and descriptive information on food, diet, eatery habits is not available anywhere in the world. Even the inhabitants of the small villages or heads of small

residential groups are aware of the medicinal plants, which are available in the nearby regions besides the forest produces. Th e knowledge of Ayurveda has been much advance in Bharat and now, it is attaining new horizons under the leadership of Pujya Swami Ramdevji and Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj. It is known to the entire world that in the fi eld of Ayurveda, Bharat is much knowledgeable and ahead as compared to any other nation.

4. Area of spices: Th e varieties of spices and knowledge of their produce and use has utmost variations in our country. Earlier, the traders from England, Spain and Portugal traded in black pepper, which made them wealthy. Later, they got involved in other spices trade, which turned their fortune. Indian spices were demonstrated in the countries like England, France, Sweden and Germany by the rich and wealthy people in small cans in their houses, which was a prestige issue. Th is situation prevailed till 19th Century. Bharat is rich in the use of spices in the food, where maximum

numbers of diff erent recipes are known and used. Th us India has been an uncrowned leader in the fi eld of spices.

5. In food area: Bharat is the leader in the food. None of the country in the world has such diff erent varieties of food, which is tasteful, nutritious and healthy. Even the preparation process and recipes are the best. Th e nutritious food, taken with the meals i.e. pickles, `papad`, and other such items are helpful in digestion and health. Th us, Bharat is ahead in the food area. In many countries, Indian food is in high demand and Indian dishes are much popular.

6. Area of digestive powders (churna): Since ancient period society in Bharat is using digestive powders. From the top layer of the society i.e. ruler to down the line, a common man were using the digestive powders and thousands of varieties of such powders were prepared in our country. In none of the country, such digestive powders were prepared. It is the specialized area of Bharat.

7. Area of hair-style: Since ancient period, hundreds of hair-styles were popular in Bharat. It is clearly visible, when we see age-old idols of monuments. Some fools made hue and cry on the veil (ghunghat) system, which prevailed in a small portion of the country, that too for short span. And due to such chest-beating, this fact disappeared that Bharat is immensely rich in the hair style, pattern, which were widely used by the queens, wives of wealthy people and even a common woman. When we see old idols, it is clearly visible that attractive hair style is one point of attraction among the woman. Th e Indian woman used diff erent fl owers plucked in their hair; festoon and our literature and history have hundreds of such examples. Th e hair style bore importance from the marital life to public life.

8. Area of cosmetics and decoration: Bharat is immensely rich in cosmetics and beauty products. Empasm and scent coating has been part of our beauty eff orts. None of the country has much information in this connection but we are rich since years.

9. Area of perfumes and fragrance: In the region of perfumes and fragrances, Bharat has been the leader since decades. A few of the nations have, though, gained some information of late but still, whatever information

we have, none could reach such level. In any of the society of the world, such prevalence of perfumes and fragrance has been observed. In marriage, worship, public programmes and other ceremonies, fragrance is an essential ingredient and millions of the people are using it.

10. Textiles preparation area: Be it any variety of cloth, cotton, woolen or silk, since decades, we are preparing it, may be at small scale production in domestic industries or at a large scale in big industries. Even `Vedas` found mention of it. In fact, it is said that Bharat was the bird of gold (some ki chidiya) and we have mines of gold and silver was nothing but what we received in exchange of sale of beautiful and excellent quality of cloths. Till 19th Century, Before Christ, diff erent countries did not have any currency, which could be given in exchange of the purchase of diff erent produces, which come from India, including cloths. Th us, they pay gold and silver in exchange. India is still top in the fi eld of textiles and garments business.

11. Architectural and building design technology: It is a well-known fact that Bharat has always remained ahead in the fi eld of architecture and building craft . Bharat has taught the world, the process of steel preparation. We have taught the world, how to make strong buildings as we knew the art since decades.

12. Sculpture preparation: Th ough, sculpture and idol preparation has been prevalent in various countries but we have the most advance art in this connection. Th e idol and sculpture preparation has been popular in India since thousands of years and the beautiful, attractive, grand and magnifi cent temples in diff erent parts and their artistic decoration are testimony to it.

13. Trade and Commerce: Ancient books are enough to prove that Bharat had been the global leader in trade and commerce. Th e traders from our country used to travel long distances through sea route or land route. Th ey used bullock-carts and even ships to travel within the country or even abroad. Th e evidences show that Bharatiya traders visited African countries to Rome. To travel such a long distance, thus security measures were necessary and hence Bhartiya traders and rulers were ahead in making security arrangements of the navigators, traders and coachman. And Bharat was

Page 26: ys-sep-2015-eng

26 Ð SeptemberU 2015

ahead in evolving the best procedure of trade and commerce and to distribute the profi t among diff erent cross-sections of the society. Due to transformation of power, some people made eff orts to publicise some groups of leaders and offi cers as the trade expert but failed miserably in the eff orts. Th ey tried to push public sector as a trade, which is completely false and misleading. And fi nally, their eff orts proved non-profi table and failure. Th ey continued the rules of trade, framed by the British people. It is a point of common sense that a society, which has rich experience of trade of millions of years, is being governed by the rules and laws framed by another society, which sparkled for a while and then extinguished. It is ridiculous and laughable. Despite all the adverse circumstances, our traders have shown that Bharat is moving ahead on the route of becoming economical global world power. Th is, again proves that how intelligent, talented and effi cient are the people of India in the fi eld of trade and commerce.

14. Bravery and Army area: In the area of bravery and gallantry, Bharat is way ahead since decades. Th e people of Bharat have been a brave tribe, who were always rated as great warriors. In villages, the tradition of bravery and courage is a part of their life. Indian army has been one of the oldest forces of the world. Documents are available describing their courage since Mahabharata era to this century. In the fi rst and second world war, only Indian forces saved British and French forces or else Germany would have dismantled their entire generation. It is a fact widely admitted by the historians that it was because of Indian warriors that British could win against Germany. Even the women were great fi ghters since decades and history is a testimony to it. From Maharani Kaikai to Maharani Laxmi Bai, our history has seen many such great woman stalwarts. Indian women have been experts in operating arms with courage. Th e people, who ruled due to the transference of power made every possible eff ort to keep women away from arms training and to disarm them but did not succeed. In the fi eld of bravery and effi cient manpower we are far ahead, though eff orts were made to hide the truth and propagate the falsehood but all such attempts bit the dust. If our tradition of bravery is kept intact, no one can challenge us.

15. Areas related to aspects of life and worship: Th e diff erent forms of life and worshipping prevailing are unparallel. Indians have always been considered to be rich in heritage, living style and worshipping.

16. Area of religious independence: It is not exaggerated to say that Bharat is only one such place in the world, which has inclusive society, embracing all the religions. Th e people have liberty of religion. Albeit, the rulers made all eff orts to create diff erence with their narrow mindedness but to no avail. A well-oiled eff ort was made to transform and convert the Indian society. But still Bharat has religious independence in the general society and such example cannot be seen in any part of the world. Bharat is the lone country in the world, where religious freedom is in the culture.

Th us, it is clear that Bharat has been the leader in these 16 points and despite it, the fact that the country being the spiritual leader has been suppressed and pushed under the carpet. So-called leaders, offi cers, modern intellectuals and people holding prime positions in media have, knowingly or unknowingly, tried to put veil on the strength of the country. In fact, the present politics has been a major hurdle in establishing the country as a world leader. Now, aft er the political change, we are hopeful that Bharat will re-emerge as a strong state and re-gain its status of being the world leader. Under the present leadership, nobody can stop us being the global leader. It is the time that we all much join hands to uplift the country. Patanjali Yogpeeth is making eff orts in this connection.

Principles of health

Why worry for snoring, epilepsy or cataract?

is scared of the word disease. Th e formula prevalent is `more the fear of the disease, heavier is the medical expense`. Th e Patanjali Yogpeeth works on the concept that if the patient is freed from the fear of the disease,

trust that he is two third cured. Th ere are many such diseases, which have easy and usable treatments in Ayurveda, which includes use of natural herbals, yoga and pranayam. Th e present article carries some domestic treatments for epilepsy, eye related troubles, snoring, cataract, sputum and kidney related diseases.

Everybody

For the eye related troubles, `Drishti` eye-drop is benefi cial besides anulom-vilom. Papaya is rich in vitamin-A, which makes eyes healthy. Th e pigments, which help in the health of eyes are enough in red, green and yellow diets. Uses of such natural products are benefi cial for the health of eyes. Th e juice of spinach, radish leaf and carrot also benefi t in eye-related troubles.

Epilepsy disease

Yoga exercises like `anulom-vilom`, `bhramri`, `pranayam` and concentrating on breaths gives immense benefi t. It stops dizziness. Medhavati cures epilepsy comely. You can also go for natural treatment and use linseed and `Medhavati`, which cure epilepsy.

For platelets

Use wheat grass, aloevera and giloy, which are immensely useful in this purpose. Even the leaves of papaya are also useful. Th ey can be taken collectively. When platelets decrease in Dengue, the four items mentioned above are useful. Take their juice at the interval of 2-2 hours, which increase platelets. Pranayam, anulom-vilom, kapal bhati also help increasing platelets. For increasing platelets, pranayam is the best treatment.

Special

Take A i.e. aola (myrobalan) 100 grams, B i.e. beetroot (chukandar) 75 grams, C means carrot 250-300 grams, T i.e. turmeric means tender turmeric 20 grams, and G means ginger 4 grams – when all the products are mixed in juicy form and drunk, it gives miraculous eff ects.

Cataract

If the cataract is in the initial state, only pranayam could cure it, which normalize the pressure on glaucoma. For the better vision mix almonds and fennel in powder form and take with water in morning and evening, twice a day.

Snoring

Kapalbhati and Ujjaini pranayam when performed 7 to 11 and 21 times it relaxes trachea and larynx. But mind that `kapha` should not be increased. Obesity, kapha, larynx and trachea should be relaxed to get rid of snoring. Hence control obesity. Warm water is benefi cial, reduce use of cold water. Take `trikuta` powder with honey, half grams, which is helpful in the treatment of snoring.

Sputum

Banana, ground nut, milk, ghee, oil, curd and

roasted and fried items produce sputum. For the treatment, take juice of tender turmeric, basil and ginger and add one spoon-full of honey in an equal quantity of the juice, which gives immediate relief. If the problem is serious, use bran soup empty stomach. Th e patient vomits all the sputum deposition in the body. To prepare bran soup, take 50-100 grams of bran, mix 250-300 grams of water and boil. When it is reduced to half, fi lter and give to the patient. `Shvasari quath` cleans the lungs and treat the problem. If the ̀ kapha` of some person has dried due to Shvasari quath, then give him liquorice or sweet root juice. Besides, milk mixed in turmeric, saff ron (kesar) and shilajit gives strength to the lungs. When problem of sputum occurs don’t drink cold water. In dry cough problem, take `bafara` of `divya dhara` or eucalyptus leaf and celery seeds, mixed in warm water. In cough problem `kapal bhati` is the miracle.

Kidney related diseases

In kidney problem, perform kapalbhati and anulom-vilom regularly in the morning and evening. Reduce protein related diet in the food. To struggle weakness, take raisin. Take lentils, milk and whey in small quantity and when the creatinine level increases, limit the use of water. Hot, cold suppression is also benefi cial. Take 3 minutes hot and 1 minute cold suppression to the body. Perform kapalbhati and pranayam, regularly for half an hour each.

Fever

Th e best medicine available for fever in the clinical world is giloy. Better to have giloy, basil and aloe-vera in earthen pots at home.

Language-culture

the British came to India, they were totally unaware of Hindi language but anyhow, they made contact with the people and moved ahead in trade and business. Later, to rule the country properly and in the fi nal

phase of their infl uence, they made every eff ort to demoralize Indians and hence, made English an important language. Resultantly, our regional languages, including Hindi grew weak gradually. To establish the English language, falsehood was spread to establish the glory of English. British left the country but left their mentality here in the people left in the country. Ved Prakash Lamba made serious analysis of the facts to take the facts from the public to the Government.

When

Th e truth of English being the global languagen Ved Prakash Lamba

Due to the scientifi c pronunciation and spontane-ity, Hindi language has its own place in the global languages. But it is a fact that the extent of damage

done to Hindi language has been immense and not a small fraction of damage has been done by others. Observing Hindi week or Hindi fortnight once in a year is an insult to the lan-guage, same as Mothers day is observed once a year. Old peo-ple remember one weekly news based magazine Dinman and its cover page carried a picture of a demonstration held by Jan-sangh (the old avatar of Bhartiya Janata Party) in which two women, belonging to rural background were trying to save themselves from the scorching sun, with the help of a placard, on which it was written `We want Hindi`.

Th e so-called English supporters propagate English in such a manner that if English will not be there, the country will be nowhere. We should remember that Swami Ramdevji Maharaj, who has popularity at the global level, has visited the country on many occasions but he always addresses the people in Hindi. Even, when he visited foreign nations, he did not need interpreters.

Th e present TV channels are damaging Hindi and think that it is their birth right. Th e news is basically sent in English, which is then translated in Hindi language and what blun-ders are made in the translation, is another long and sorrow-ful story. Whenever the history of Hindi will be written, the present Hindi newspapers will be underlined as the biggest enemies of the language. Just go on reading from front page to the last page and every day you will fi nd experiments of some new English word, encroaching in Hindi vocabulary. In the language of general discussion, the regularly used words

are now mentioned in English. Th e press conference is abbreviated as PC and post mortem as PM. Not only this, the supple-ments being published on a daily basis are titled in English in Roman script.

It is a matter of shame for all of us that a Hindi language newspaper is teaching, how to pronounce English correctly in its weekly column.

Th e condition of the educational institutions is even worse. Today, the students attending classes in such institu-tions are not nationalistic or patriotic. Th e education, which is being granted to the students, is teaching them to consider their country, parents, family, country and religion as inferior. Th e situation is going to be explosive in near future. Th e news channels are clear examples of it. Th e anchors, with deep in-ane make-up and scanty cloths try to prove that they are the most intelligent person and they know each and every thing in this globe. Most of them are taught in English medium schools and are slaves of the language.

I want to remember you here that a German scientist did a surprising experiment. He designed scripts of all the im-portant languages of the world, with the help of clay. All the designs were hollow from inside and have holes at both the ends. Th e design was same as we get in our village fairs, having parrot and `maina` at two ends of a toy and when, you blow from one end, the other end will have whistling. Th en experi-ment began with diff erent languages and when the designs were blown from one end, it was only `Devnagari` script, which gave the same result at the other end, when blown at one end.

In fact two Indian youths, Satish and Prabhakar travelled the world, with not a single penny in their pocket and later, wrote their memoirs in the form of a book, titling the same. Th ey wrote that when they reached America, the President Kennedy was killed and when they returned to India, Nehruji

had died.In their memoirs, the youths also exposed the false

claim that English is a language with interna-tional repute. Th ey wrote that in many coun-

tries they found people, who not only speak but also understand Hindi. Furthermore, in European nations, they found many people, who were unaware of English language.

In fact language is the carrier of cul-ture (Sanskriti) and hence, it was identi-

fi ed as Sanskrit. Bible has clearly written that in entire world, a single language was

being spoken. Obviously, it would have been Sanskrit and no other language. Th e dialects at

the local level were diff erent. It is a scientifi c fact that if you could understand and speak Sanskrit, it is easy to con-

trol diff erent dialects. Th e Valmiki Ramayan has described that when Hanuman Ji appeared before Sita Ji in Ashoka Va-tika, he discussed in local dialects, which was spoken in and around Ayodhya. He did not talk in Sanskrit as Sita Ji should not feel that she is talking to some learned scholar and fur-thermore, the local dialect generates a feeling of congeniality.

Th ere was a period, when Hindi fi lms were considered as disseminator of Hindi language in the world. In that period, whichever fi lms were produced with story of an orphan boy, the person who will take care of his will be either Muslim or a Christian. And today, the language of the fi lms in Hindi is neither Hindi nor even Hindustani. Frankly, it is not even Hinglish as even in Hinglish, Hi of Hindi comes fi rst. Th e titles of the fi lms are in English. If some title is in Hindi, it will be explained in English as well. And why should it not hap-pen? Now the Hindi movies are not for the entertainment of the common man but it is produced by the English inclined people for the English inclined viewers.

Earlier, it was very much diffi cult to identify educational institutions, where education was imparted in English. But now even the primary school of a dusty village is giving edu-

cation in English language. Th e shameful and ironical situa-tion is that even the names of the hockey, cricket and football teams are placed in English like Rider, Blaster or Fighter. Th e logic given is that it will give new energy and fastness to the players. In fact, if such people are given all decision making powers, they will say all asses as donkeys and dogs as doggies.

Today even the protagonists of Hindi sign in English lan-guage. Th e name plate appearing before their house will be in English language. On any auspicious occasion at home, the invitation will be in English language. Th e hoardings, ban-ners of their shops, offi ces, ancillaries or industries remain in English although, they know it very well that their customers will be Indians, who have adequate knowledge of Devnagari script.

I am not an opponent of English but it is a common sense that the people living in this county should also think of our national language. But the fact is that when a person has men-tality of English language, expecting service to Hindi by such group is searching needle in the haystack. Just think how a few words of English could become a phrase? Is it not mental slavery of English and its culture?

Aft er independence, such scene has been created, where people speak of Hindi but practice English. Furthermore, in the mutual discussion, they support essentiality of English and its qualities. It is my advice that if you want to do some-thing for Hindi, remove the binding of English at the centre and in all the BJP-ruling states for Government jobs. Whatev-er information, the Government of India wants to share with public, advertise it in Hindi. Stop giving advertisements to English newspapers and mediums. Th e Government should ask the offi cial broadcaster Doordarshan to start news, giving priority to not only English but all the prominent languages of the world.

I fi rmly believe that such step is suffi cient and Hindi will re-gain its position. Th e Government will not have to spend additional budget on it and the biggest point that none will oppose such move.

Th us, I hope that the present Government will take the suggestions seriously and take fi rm steps. Mind it, it is associ-ated with the self-respect and dignity of millions of Indians and our nation i.e. Bharat. So, I hope the Prime Minister, who is taking many steps to restore the lost glory of the nation will take the issue very seriously.

Inspirational satire

When we gulp bottle of foreign brand cold drinks!

Every human being feels pride of the nation, in which he lives. We all also love our motherland and hence, people have given a slogan full of national self-re-

spect - Say with pride, we are Indians ( Garva se kahe hum Bhartiya hai).

We are born in India and we have every right to say ourself Indian. Repeatedly, we can say ourself Indian. Till we don’t feel tired, we will continue saying ̀ We are Indians`. And why not we should say it repeatedly? Our history is 5,000 years old. We invented zero, we gave the prime gift of Ayurveda and Yoga to the world. It is enough, as more had we given; the people would have taken it as extravagance.

Th e history is a testimony that we always stuck to the reli-gion of being an Indian. Th e wars of the border are meaning-less for us and we were busier in bettering our other world. To fi ght against invaders was just wastage of time for us. Yes, propagating non-violence was necessary for us. Blood shed-ding for just small pieces of land was a poor thought for us. But suddenly, what happened that our pride crushed to rock bottom. Since past 60-65 years, our beloved country was rat-ed as most backward nation, burdened with loans and debts.

In a nation, where 2.5 lakh farmers committed suicide, in the country, where number of deaths of mal-nutritious chil-dren is the highest and the country, where lakhs of people sleep hungrily, where is the point of pride? It is not just by

chance. Frankly speaking, we all are responsible for the state.Th e community, which do not learn lesson from the past

experience of slavery will be enslaved again for sure. We did not call Mougals, but they invaded us and ruled for over 600 years. British people came to India and rules for good 200 years. We can’t imagine, how many years, the multi-nationals we are inviting, will rule on us in future.

Extreme poverty, poor living standard and fearsome peo-ple of the country can’t say that they are proud of being an India in the present circumstances. Very clearly and frankly, the Governments, political leaders and the bureaucracy are responsible for the poor state of situation, which have always been more than eager to sell the nation shamelessly and in full swing. When we gulp one bottle of international company produce cold drink, 7 rupees goes to foreign nation. Means, we gulp lakhs of tones of cold drinks and make ourself poor. We prefer mineral water, made by foreign brands and hence, when Indians drink water, the richer becomes America.

Our food style, living style, imagination style, almost eve-rything has been captured from the foreign countries and sur-prising fact is that entire media and system is standing with them. Th e industrialists of our country are taking their side. If we really want to say ourself a true Bhartiya, start from own house. Just shut the door for the foreign company products. When the supply line will be blocked, it will be easier to won the battle. Another important aspect is if we want to won the battle, we will have to glorify the place, where such decisions are being taken. Th e political parties play an important role in such decisions. We should always support, the party which declares to drive multi-national companies out of the country, whether the election held at panchayat, state or national level.

Today, the name of East India Company has changed, which has become Eat India Company. In a recently held seminar in New Delhi, a senior offi ce bearer of an Interna-tional Trade organization said – We are thankful to the peo-ple of India that over 4,000 multi-national companies are working here. Had the people of India not supported us, it was not possible to achieve such a milestone. Now just see the number, it is 4,000 foreign companies.

Although, out administrators are not going to listen but still, here is a couplet –

``Barbad gulita karne ko, bas ek hi ullu kafi tha,Har shakh pe ullu baitha hai, ab legulista kya hoga``.

He also said that Swami ji's pledge to serve people has destroyed inertia, deprivation, stubbornness, etc from people's life and filled a new kind of confidence in people's life. He also said that if UNO is impressed by India's divinity, there is the efforts of many sages behind it and Swami ji's contribution in all this has been of paramount impor-tance. He also said that Swami ji is a driving force who makes the whole world function with him.

Awadheshanand ji also said that if in the eyes of crores of people is looked, it will be known that it is Swami ji who made a record by serving humanity. He, through his workshops, yoga camps, food march, etc has done amazing work. Awadheshanand ji also called Swami ji a voice to make people wake up early in the morning. He said that it is Swami ji who made people wake up in the morning and improve their quality of life. This is the reason why Swami ji stays in the heart of people across the world.

By pointing at Acharya ji , Awadheshanand ji said that he is such a closed person to Swami ji who worked in a very tough and adverse circumstances and his creative thinking, behaviour, played a vital role in executing creative ideas. Awadheshanand ji saw in him a divine soul who along with Swami ji has done revolutionary works all around. They will continue to transform the world.

He also called Patanjali Ashram as a centre of divinity , adding that he sees divine qualities turning into a reality here. He said that here has been simplicity, divinity, best human qualities, selflessness, thought process, good behaviour etc. Here one can have a realisation of divinity. The patients who visit here are impressed by

the efforts of Swami ji and Acharya ji as the two have touched the hearts of the people directly. And they were naturally drawn towards them. He has towards these patients a view of considering them an amalgamation of sensitivity. He said that there is a huge concept working behind the concept of Patanjali, a network, a team-work, a resolution of success works into it.

Awadheshanand ji also said that as the army of Lord Ram comprising of monkeys was not a simple army against Ravan but a force inspired by resolution, discipline, and a pledge for victory , the same way a force is there working at Patanjali Ashram and it it just a beginning. And in future, the dreams of great sages like Acharya Sri Ram Sharma who wished to establish Indian culture and traditions at its zenith, will be fulfilled through Patanjali.

By again pointing at Swami ji and Acharya ji , he said that the sages have not only to ensure revolution but they will ensure complete transformation in the world and they will destroy evasive and devil forces, they will make the whole world happy and permanent solution to the country's problems will be found out.

He compared Patanjali Ashram with the ancient centres of education like Taxila and Nalanda that when there will be no successor, Patanjali will provide them. He said he is seeing new India's future being born here. Those students read Mahabhashya here are amazing kids, When the world will not have scholars to lead the humanity, they will be produced at Patanjali. It is producing the leaders for all walks of life like trade, politics, national security, etc. The two great sages are producing leaders to build a new world. Here one can see both - Charak and Patanjali working together in the form of Acharya ji and Swami ji. One of them is a thinking power, another is a vocal power. One is visible power, second is hidden power. One is Vyavahar satta, second one is yoga power. They are resolute and working together. Both aspects are complementary towards each other. He said that all of us are involved in teachings and imparting knowledge, but whenever anyone will ask me that where is our ideological movement, our answer will be that it lies in Acharya ji and Swami ji. It lies in the experiments of Patanjali Yogpeeth. Their joint voice is the voice of India. He added that a time will come when sages will conduct research on the works and achievements of the two. Here is the future of India.

Swami ji is like Maharshi Patanjali and Acharya ji like Charak

Dr Pranav Pandya (chief of Shanti Kun Haridwar and Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Uni-versity), expressed his feelings on divine achievements and experiments of Swami ji and Acharya ji. He said, "The way Swami ji 's impact is growing all around, our views regard-ing his movement gradually changed. In both the experiments we saw greatness and di-vinity. It is not only us, but the whole world society is greatly impressed by their works and contributions." He added that when Lord Ram came, a revolution took place, when

Krishna came, a revolution took place, now both the Ram-Krishna are here and in this situation, a big revolution is bound to happen. By expressing his interest in herbs , Dr Pandya said that such works are demand of time and dedication and Acharya ji dedicated himself to find the medicinal qualities of herbs for the wellness of humanity and this way he has given greatest peace to my heart. Dr Pandya also added that the kind of work is being done by Swamy ji in the field of yoga, similar work is being executed by Acharya ji in the field of plant world. In this way, one is Maharshi Patanjali and another is Charak.Pandya ji called Patanjali Yogpeeth as a medical hub, spiritual hub, knowledge hub, centre of education.

He also said that the way Patanjali Yogpeeth has attained success all around is really stunning. He said that Haridwar is the spiritual capital of the world. He expressed for a cooperation between Gayatri Pari-war and Patanjali Yogpeeth. He said that Prime Minister Modi is working on making smart city in the country while it is more im-

portant to develop spiritual cities in the country.

No surprise if herbs day in future will be celebrated as world herbs day:

Swami Chidanand ji Maharaj (chief of Parmarth Ashram, Haridwar), said that Swami ji en-sured reach of yoga Vidya in every household while it was until recent decades a mistry for many of them. By understanding the pulse of the people, a chemistry was established with a sage, though such a connection was set up by our ancient sages but in the mid time, there ap-

peared a gap and people forgot about yoga but it was Swami ji who as a great sage introduced yoga among people. He said that it was for the first time that UN had a few days ago officially mourned the death of our former

President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and his birth anniversary is celebrated as World Student day.He added that when energetic Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed UN General Assembly, the world

accepted his call and began to do yoga. Speaking on the specialities of the book- Ayurved Siddhant Rahasya he said that the book has been published in 12 languages and with this it is hoped that in future the herbs day will be celebrated as World Herbs Day or World Ayurved Day. I have no doubt in it, he concluded. He further said that there are two main forces in the country- Rishi Shakti and Krishi Shakti. Krishi Shakti produced grains to feed our people while Rishi Shakti uncovered the vast secrets. The tribals have preserved the vast treasures of our culture in the form of herbs.

He also said that today infrastructure is build and broken but intra-structure is never destroyed. This country need vast intra-structure. This country has not developed itself through internet but through inner-net. Both the great souls are able to establish a connection between the two.

He also said that this way the nation needs the herbal medicine of patriotism. More over the nation also needs the realisation of self-pride as it strengthens patriotism. With self-pride, a person does not only live for himself but the whole nation becomes his own. By indicating towards Swami ji and Acharya ji, Muni ji said that Patanjali is strengthening the roots of the nation. The two have lived for the nation and the world. They are simply great. They are working for the sake of their motherland.

30 medicinal plants and 20 `yogasans` useful in diabetes

Diabetes disease is caused by lack of insulin hor-mone in the body. Th is hormone is being released by the `Agnashaya` gland, which is located just

below the stomach and above the duodenum. Its beta cells produce insulin, which controls glucose in the blood. Ac-cording to the World Health Organization (WHO) an estimate of 18 crore people in the world are aff ected due to diabetes. Diabetes disease exist since decades and its description is found in `prahmeh` and Ayurvedic doctors were aware of the disease around 3000 years ago.

Diabetes Mellitus word has been derived from the Greek word diabetes, which means siphoning i.e.fl owing and mel-litus means sweet.

Types of diabetesType one is Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus: Th is cat-

egory of diabetes attacks mostly children and tender-aged children. In this category, the percentage of insulin in the blood is negligible and hence, the sugar percentage increases in the blood, to control which insulin injections are needed or the patient falls unconscious and later slip into coma. Th is condition is said to be diabetic coma. Its original rea-son is still not known.

Type two is non-Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus: Th is disease is less serious as compared to Insulin depend-ent diabetes mellitus. It is mostly found in adults. Among all diabetes patients, non-Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus is found in 2/3rd of the total patients. Th e chief reason is insuffi cient insulin hormone availability in the body or de-spite its adequate presence cells are unable to use it.

Reasons of diabetes1. Obesity and lavish life style2. Hereditary problem descending to children from the

parents3. Excessive mental tension4. Excessive use of anti-pregnancy tablets, steroids and

other such medicines.

Symptoms of diabetesRepeated urination, excessive thirst, more hunger, de-

crease in weight, laxity and tiredness, dryness of the mouth, time taking healing of the injuries, blurred vision, increase in the lens power, itching around private parts, numbness in hands, legs and sometimes feeling the movement of ants, problem in skin and jaws, collection of ants near urine, sexu-al weakness and impotency, unconsciousness and gangrene trouble.

Principles of health

Naturopathy of Patanjali Yoggram

The naturopathy means expel-ling toxic material from the body, thus giving strength

to the body parts. Also, fi ght out im-pure thoughts and have purity in diet. In our body, some parts get week due to toxic, oxidants and negative energy and the diseases related to the that particular part attack the body. In Pa-tanjali yogpeeth, many exercises based on naturopathy are being performed to keep the body pure. Th e fi rst one is `shat karma`, which includes `dhaiti` process. `Dhaiti` is much useful in cough and respiratory problems. `Neti` is another process to clean the body. In `neti, jal neti, sutra neti, tel neti` and `ghrit neti` are prominent. Take the water inside from one nostril and expel from the other af-ter taking deep breath from the mouth, is jalneti. In sutra neti, fi rst day mustard oil, almonds `rogan` or cow’s ghee is put in little quantity in the nose. It opens-up the nose, which treats cold and cough. People with mucus or sinus problem, should put a little almonds rogan or cow’s milk with dropper, which keeps mind and brain healthy. Th is is `shatkarma`. Alike is `panchkarma`.

`Panchkarma experiment`In `panchkarma`, it is lubrication, dia-

phoresis, purgation and emesis. These

activities are being performed at `Panchkarma` department of Pa-tanjali Yogpeth and Yoggram, both the places. For the health of eyes, ` Akshaya tarpan` is the best rem-edy. If the impurity increases in the body, massage is also an option. Dry massage, oil massage, hot and cold compression and steam of different herbals are given. As for skin diseas-es, different medicines will be ap-plied. For joint pain and for swell-

ing, separate medicines and steam bath is given, with the help of different herbs. The persons, with critical problems could be immensely beneficial with the above activities.

Besides `shankh abstersion` is much useful for the people, suffering with old constipation, obesity, sug-ar, skin diseases and stomach related ailments. In this exercise, lemon water is drunk, following which five `asans` are asked to perform. The people, suffering with Asthma and have problem with lemon are asked to take warm water, empty stomach. The BP patients are not given salt and are asked to drink warm water.

50 Ð SeptemberU 2015

Page 51: ys-sep-2015-eng

51 Ð SeptemberU 2015

They are asked to perform asans, which start cleaning of stomach. Light food like mush or fruits is provided in the dinner.

People, who have serious constipation are provided `trifla` or `harad` powder so that the stomach starts cleaning-up. It takes 3-4 hours, which washes-up all the impurities deposited since years. The water of myroba-lan is also useful here, which gives immense benefits and ahs no side-effects.

For Migraine, anulom-vilom, pranayam, jalneti or sutraneti are beneficial. Medhavati, almonds rogan, anulom-vilom pranayam give 100 percent benefits. In case of heart enlargement, pranayam gives 100 percent benefits. `Hirdayamrit` and Arjun bark are also benefi-cial. We all know it very well that every herbal or diet has immense power to keep a human body health. In fruits, cereals, medicines, vegetables, why there is differ-ent scent? The source of scent is this earth. All juices come from water. All forms emerge from fire. The seers investigated each and every element and gave the prin-ciple that every element has energy, power, strength and also proved that in vegetables and medicines, same pow-ers exist.

Patanjali Yogpeeth worked on the same concept and associated patient with the herbals and gave miracu-lous results. Patanjali Ayurveda claims regarding some of the medicines that if given in proper proportion, the departure of the disease is for sure. For the dis-eases related to brain, use of Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Ashvagandha medicines, myrobalan for eyes, aloevera, brasil and neem for skin, neem and other medicines for teeth, Arjuna for heart, for liver brown myroba-lan, McCoy, Nishodh and Punarnava are useful. For kidney bunions and varun bark are helpful. Thus, for heart, lungs, bones different medicines are used. In the Patanjali yogpeeth expert docutrs perform the treat-ment. Pranayam is also an integral part of Ayurveda and totally in accordance with the science. Whatever strengths medicines and herbals receive, is from `pra-na`. The source of all powers is `prana`. If a human be-

ing uses `prana` properly, there is no need to eat medi-cines or for the strength of `prana`, medicines, herbals are useful. The yog-gram cell of Patanjali works on the same principle.

World Building

Th e world on the way of reconstruction

An effective decision on the way of women's empowerment

Th e Supreme Court of India has given a path break-ing decision according to which the child of an unmar-ried woman can get the name of his or her mother at the time of school admission instead of father's name. Such children are not required to be identifi ed by the name of their father. Aft er reading this verdict, it came to my mind that why not every one should always write his or mother's name instead of father's name. Of course, those who want to write their father's name for offi cial pur-poses should be allowed to do so but why not mother's name? For a child, both his or her mother and father's name are important but it is also important to note that mother is a reality, however, father's name is just a specu-lation.

Why should one give more importance to specula-tions than reality? Is it so because we come from a pa-triarchal society? Th is highlights the mind set that every mother is a woman and a woman is the door way to hale. It is this mentality which considers her as the assets or property of men. She has no rights but duty. Whether it be the western world or eastern world all are having the same sick mentality to have a child recognised by his or her father's name. However, if we go in past, brave men in the society were know by the names of their moth-er. Kunti's sons were called Kanutey and Sumitra's son Lakshman ji was also known as Saumitra. Jabala's son Satyakam was known as Jabal. Why do we call Sita-Ram

or Radha - Krishna? It is so because this was the great-ness of Indian culture. People of India don't call their country as their fatherland but they prefer to call it their motherland. In Vedas, earth has been termed as mother. Mata Bhumih, Putroaham Prithivyah I Among teachers of a child, mother is counted before his or her Guru and father. "Matriman, Pitriman, Acharyavan Purusho Ved". Why did we put our mothers on back burner like that of western culture.

When every citizen of India will start writing the names of their mother, it will mark the beginning of a new revolution. I will try to move a petition in the Su-preme Court seeking to make it necessary for every citi-zen to use the name of his mother instead of his father.

Signs of India's new global role:Iran's nuclear deal with fi ver Security Council mem-

bers and Germany is such a development which will be remembered for longest period of time owing to nu-merous reasons. First, Iran is the fi rst brave nation of which supreme leader Ayatullah Khomaini was termed by Americans as world's biggest demon and Russia as world's small demon. Such courage was not shown by any other country of the world. Th e US would call it the axis of evil. Jimmy Carter Government had once tried to interfere into the aff airs of Iran and rumour was rife that Israel was preparing for nuclear attack on Iran. Despite all such instances of distrust the two countries have agreed to settle all their issue and normalise their

n Dr. Ved Pratap Vedic

Page 53: ys-sep-2015-eng

53 Ð SeptemberU 2015

relationship. It is most likely that with recent accord be-tween the two sides, the era of 40-year old tension will be over. Another major development is that Iran has agreed international monitoring on its nuclear installa-tions hence it won't be able to develop nuclear weapons henceforth. Th e kind of pressure Iran incurred in the re-cent years due to sanctions by the six nations, the other countries of the world will learn a lesson and they will desist from nuclear adventure. It is a great development in the direction of nuclear disarmament. Fourth, with normalisation of relation between the US and Iran, now it will be possible that the whole south Asia, Iran, In-dia and the US will work together. Th ey will share joint strategy, joint trade tax, etc. With normalisation of Iran and the US, now India will have even wider opportuni-ties for its own development in all sectors. India is devel-oping Iran's Chahbahar port, from where there will be a direct route to Central Asia, and hence the US will now help India even more to enhance its infl uence.

Sixth, now India, Iran, the US, and other countries of the world can even more eff ectively deal with Taliban, they can build a stronger Afghanistan. Seventh, India has now a much better relation with Saudi Arabia, Israel and Iran, now India is required to develop a new three-pronged strategy. Th e duty which is to be executed by the US is now to be done by India itself. Eighth, now Ira-nian oil will help reduce the price of oil in international market. India imports 80 percent of the oil of its needs. Now it will have benefi t of billions of rupees. Moreover,

it will be easier to bring gas from Turkmenistan and Iran to India. Ninth, with lift ing of international sanction from Iran , its economy is set to grow exponentially, it is expected to rise as a new economic power, its activeness in the West Asian countries like Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and others is expected to increase, internal confl ict will rise, in this situation India has a vital role to play as a media-tor in relation among these countries.

India-Pakistan can move in the direction of normalis-ing their relations: Th e meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Russia recently is being criticised by opposition in both the countries, fi rst and foremost, let us take a view of the reaction of Pakistani political parties, media- TV and Print. Th ey are not talking of Modi's invitation to Sharif to visit India, they have mainly focused on triv-ial issues like the size of room where the two leaders met and Sharif had to walk more to meet Modi.

Th ey ignored the reality that the moment Modi saw Nawaz entering into the room, he got up and welcomed him warmly. It is refl ection of Modi's sincerity that 45-minute scheduled meeting lasted for 1 hour 30 min-utes. It is my request to Pakistani politicians and media that they should display a little bit of patience and wait for further developments.

Th ey another contention is that why the issue of Kash-mir was not included in the joint statement of the two leaders. Th ough the answer to this question was rightly given by Sartaz Aziz, Pakistani NSA. He said that the issues like this will be discussed under track 2 diplo-macy in the presence of the experts. Even in India it is being questioned that why Modi did not raise the issue of Pak Occupied Kashmir. It is important to note that just making a statement on one or other issue will not fi nd a foolproof solution to this issue. Th ese issues are almost seven decades old and no one knows when they will be settled. At present it will be better to confi ne bi-lateral talks to tackling terrorism. Focus should be given on increasing bilateral talks. People should be allowed to go to other countries through each-other's territories. When the two sides will arrive at conclusion over these issues, it will pave the ways for resolution of Kashmir is-sue permanently.

Village Matters

For the best scale of rural development, appropriate vision is necessaryn Vaidhya Rajesh Kapoor

of our population, still lives in village and the development of India means, the develop-ment of the villages. But the problem is that we want to adopt Western culture for the

development of the villages. We should not forget that the civilization of the Western period is just 200-300 years old. Th e society and the culture are still experimenting. Th ey could not develop any model system or arrangement, which can be followed for the benefi t of the society. Th eir system and arrangements are proving detrimental for themselves. From socialism to capitalism, they have been proved to be miserable failure and passed through the phase of confusion thus fi nding some proper solution for them itself. In fact all the philosophers of the world are fi nding solution of their problem in Indian culture, tradition and ideology. Th us for the all-round development and self dependency of the villages, we will have to rely on the decades-tested `swadeshi` formula and traditions, which have to be mould in accordance with the modern era so that our own model could be developed.

Majority

Page 55: ys-sep-2015-eng

55 Ð SeptemberU 2015

Failure of the Government development model Th e incomplete vision towards development has given very bad results and every social worker is aware of it. One IIT holder social worker Somdev Tyagi brought economical re-forms in a tribal village with sustained eff orts of 2-3 years but the result was that the village men started consuming In-dian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) replacing country made liquor. Th e society became drunkard, poor character with regular complaints of mutual fi ghts. Tyagi ji had a very bitter experience in it, which amended his thoughts too. Economi-cal development is not the only scale of development as it could improve GDP but the society falls further. It has to be understood as what are the reasons behind failure of the Government run development models and even if, they suc-ceed in improving a segment of the society economically, the society sees fall on social scale, with more criminal activities coming-up. Hence, it has to be understood that as long as we do not develop good culture, the dream of a better soci-ety can’t become a reality. If we think of happy, civilized and prosper civil society and plan in this direction, we will have to plan to develop culture among them.

We will have to teach them yoga, pranayam, ideal stories of big personalities, cultural stories, constructive art, mu-sic, plays and all aspects, which makes them culturally rich and if possible arrangement of `Bhajan` group and regular `bhajans` recitation should also be made. Of course for dif-ferent followers of diff erent religions, separate guidelines could be developed. But in the name of culture, vulgar or obscene dance, songs should not be promoted at any cost. In fact, aft er making arrangements for values in the society, other aspects of rural development could be taken in hands, which could be as follows -

Agriculture related development: We could make immense development on the economi-

cal and industrial level but everyone needs food. And food should be toxin free, chemical free and only then the dream of healthy society could be realized. Th us, when we think of economical development of the villages, we will have to take agriculture at the top-most priority. And agriculture without cow is impossible. Or else, the farming will be toxic and with chemicals, the dangerous results of which, entire

country is facing currently. Th us, it is important that focus is on toxin-free domestic fertilizer so that the concept of agri-culture improves.

Indigenous fertilizer: If we use fertilizer prepared of cow dung and vegetable

waste, the country could save lakhs, crores of rupees, which is being used in chemical fertilizers. Experiments in many countries, including India have proved that such domestic fertilizer increases productivity and not decreases.

Supply of fuel: Methane gas, which is prepared of cow dung could easily

fulfi ll the need of fuel of more than half of the population. In world, at many places, the gas production plants in plastic tubes are running successfully, which could easily save lakhs, crores of rupees, spent on fuel. Th e domestic plant could be installed for just Rs 5-10,000 and is not unsuccessful like cow dung gas plant of cement. At little large scale, with small gen-erators, power could be generated, which is being used at some places in our country. 8-10 cows are suffi cient for the purpose.

Seed Bank is also necessary:Without seeds proper farming is not possible. Th us, in

every village seed bank (One big and another small room)

Page 56: ys-sep-2015-eng

56 Ð SeptemberU 2015

could be set-up with proper training to the village men. Th e poor eff ects of GM seeds have already been observed and almost all the countries have rejected them. Only India is an exception. But of late, we will have to rely on domestic seeds as impotence seeds are making our youths impotent, is what many people presume. Th us, without protecting domestic seeds, village and national growth is not possible.

Water management: India had been the best in water management including

collection and conservation. A book on this subject `Abhi bhi khare hai talab` and discussion with Ravidra Guru give adequate guidelines in this connection. If we properly im-plement such technologies with intelligence at village level, for sure good results will come.

`Panchgavya` products:A two-day workshop on Panchgavya, arranged under

the aegis of AYUSH department i.e. Central Ayurveda and Research Council of Government of India, held in New Delhi, recently. On the occasion, a research tract of 500 pages, titled `Panchgavya chikitsa` was released. Accord-ing to medical experts, complete treatment with the help of `Panchgavya` is possible. Th e medicines could be prepared at village level. In fact, a farmer could produce medicines at the corner of his house for his family thus, saving his belov-ed ones with the ill-eff ects of medicines besides unnecessary spending money, eff orts and time.

Th e use of cow dung incense sticks is also gaining popu-larity and anybody could easily learn the technique and pre-pare incense sticks. Apart from the domestic use, it could be sold in the urban areas. Th e demand of cow urine infusion, `ghanvati` is also on rise. Cow dung, cow urine and cow’s ghee safeguard a person from the risk of cancer and re-searches have certifi ed it. America and other countries have patent some of the ̀ Panchgavya` products. Th us, till license permission and selling system, they could experiment it at their home so that the health of their beloved ones is saved.

Only domestic cow:Many researches have proved that foreign breed cows

give products having A-1 toxic proteins, which cause many incurable diseases. In contrast, Indian domestic cows have

A-2 protein means the product is highly healthy. Th us, es-sentially we should shelter and protect domestic cows and its rearing should be promoted. Th e Ayurveda Research Council and Karnal located NBAGRK scientists have the same opinion.

Solar energy related experiments: In the rural households in Nepal, many people use solar

cookers, with the help of cardboard and aluminum foils or metallic paper and prepare food in the sun-light. In many countries, many societies are using solar energy for domes-tic applications. Under sunlight it saves energy and fuel.

Agnihotra: Peru, Chile, Poland, Germany, France and many other

countries of the world are relying on `agnihotra` to improve production and treatment of incurable diseases of crops. On December 16, 2012, an MD doctor, who had come from Peru gave presentation on agnihotra in Patanjali Yogpeeth and said that in his farms, he is taking production of 84 tons of mangoes per acre, due to the use of agnihotra, which was just 10 tons previously. We have, using chemical fertilizers taken 15 tones of mangoes, per acre of land. Most of the people from diff erent countries can’t pronounce agnihotra properly and hence, they re-named it as homa.

Th is process of 5-10 minutes time can be easily taught to the farmers. Th e process is much easy and result-oriented. It treats the pollution of water, soil, air and increase the productivity manifolds.

In Maharashtra, farmers started production of grapes. Th e germination of seeds was taking place in 6-9 months but with agnihotra, seeds germinated in just 21-28 days. In Maharashtra, many farmers are still utilizing the technique.

Many experiments, held world-wide proved that ag-nihotra generates positive energy. Drug addicts leave the habit and become peaceful and good character person. So, the need is to train groups of good values. Following the above said principles, we could develop some of the villages as model villages, so that other people could also be motivated and inspired and the country starts growing faster on agriculture based economy. I am hopeful that the common man will understand the facts and move ahead in this direction to contribute in the growth of the nation.

control pests. Take extract of 2 kg pumpkin seeds and mix it in 200 litre water to be sprinkled in one acre of land. This will protect the crops of tomato, chilly, little finger and gram.

l Make paste of 2-5 kg garlic and soak it in 500 litre water. Filter it with the help of cotton and sprinkle on the crops. It will also be an effective protection.

1955, only 2000 mt pesticides were used in In-dia, now 8300 mt is used in the country. Th ey

adversely impact the environment. Various fruits, vegetables, cattle food, etc are mediums which carry harmful chemicals inside the human and animal body and drastically hit their health. Given these realities, it is important to use more and more domestic stuff s to control pests and Patanjali has launched an intense research drive in this direction. Other institutes too have started moving in this direction, but it is equally important to spread awareness among farmers. Th e aim is to promote the use of herbal fertilisers so that they could be prepared at domestic levels and with this the whole agricultural world would benefi ted.

Patanjali toxin-free farming – 17

Take maximum production of chilli with Patanjali process

is an old saying that when any problem assumes serious di-mensions, return to the basics. Many farmers are commit-

ting suicide in India and the incidents are sufficient to say – return to the basics. When chemical and toxic fertilizers were not available, still farming was done and the produce was better. The farmer was happy. Azadirachta indica or neem, insecticides made-up of cow urine were playing efficient role in controlling the diseases. But as the use of chemi-cal, poisonous fertilizers increased, the problems of the farmers too in-creased in the same proportion. In such adverse circumstances, the drive for toxin-free farming being launched by Patanjali Yogpeeth will defi-nitely show the light.

Today, chilli is at the top among the products, which are high-quality and with-

out chemicals. But here too, toxic chemicals are being used. So, Pa-tanjali toxin free Agriculture cell is presenting the process of producing toxin free chilli farming.

Although, chilli is produced in tropicopolitan area normally but now it is being produced in diff er-ent regions of the country including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil-nadu and Karnataka, where the cli-mate is appropriate for its produc-tion.

Climate for the chilli cropChilli is the crop of warm and

could be saved from excessive water and moisture. Put 200 liters of Sanjee-vak fertilizer of biogas slurry one week before sowing. For one acre of land, 100 square meters of area and 450 grams of chilli seeds are suffi cient for sowing chilli seeds. But before sowing the seeds in the nursery, its purifi ca-tion is necessary. Now for the purifi cation, take 2 liters bitter butter-milk and mix 10 grams of asafetida in 5 liters of water to prepare a solution. Dip chilli seeds in the solution for 30 minutes and then take it out and dry in shadow. Following this process, sow the seeds.

During sowing, make lines at the distance of 5-6 cms. Aft er sowing, cover the lines with thin layer of rotten cow manure and put light layer of straw. When the plats germinate, remove straw layer.

Transplantation of plantsTh e plants of chilli prepare

in 25-28 days in summer and 50-55 days in winter. Th e plants should be sown at distance of 45x30 cms.

Prominent species of chilli1. LG 1 (Pusa Sadabahar)2. Bhagya Laxmi3. Jawahar chilli 1284. X-2355. K-54526. Pusa Jwala7. Pant-C 18. Punjab Gucchedar

semi-warm areas but for its produc-tion warm and humid climate is the best. Area having around 700 mm of annual rainfall is the best region for its production.

Soil and farm preparation

For the production of chilli, loam soil with proper drainage of water is the best option. Th e PH of the soil should be around 6-7. Th e acidic soil is not good for the production. For the production of chilli, take 2000 liter of biogas slurry or Sanjeevak fertilizer for every acre of land and do deep plowing. Later pour 25 kgs of Patanjali granular fertilizer. Th ere-aft er, perform light double plowing and then divide the farm in small seed-plot. Th e area should not be more than 10X10 meters.

The nursery of chilliIn the farming of chilli, the most

important point is the preparation of the nursery. In monsoon season, the beds should be prepared 20 cms above the ground so that the plants

Page 64: ys-sep-2015-eng

Patanjali toxin-free farming – 17

Nutrition and managementTh e nutritious elements should essentially remain available in the chilli

crop. For the purpose, aft er 20 days of transplantation, use 1000 liters of Sanjee-

vak fertilizer or bio-gas slurry or 20 kgs of Patanjali granule fertilizer per acre.Second time, when buds start coming out, again use 1500 liter Sanjeevak

fertilizer of bio-gas slurry during irrigation.Th ird time, when the chilli is plucked of, put 1000 liters of Sajeevak or

Patanjali NPK 5 Kg, at the rate of per acre, which increases the produce and also life-cycle of the plant is extended.

Diseases and pest controlPrips: Th ese pests suck the juice of the tender leaves so that its growth

stops and the quantity of the produce is also decreased. Treatment: For the safety of the crops take 10 liters of sour `lassi` and add

1 kgs of old jiggery. Mix it in 20 liters of water. Repeat the process aft er 3 days and the crop will be free from the pests.

Chempa: Th e moths suck tender parts of the plants including leaves, mak-ing plants too weak. Th ey also spread virus on the plants and hence, they should be destroyed for the better production.

Treatment: To counter this problem, Abhimanyu of Patanjali Bio-Re-search Institute is much eff ective. Add 60 ml of Patanjali Abhimanyu in 40 liters of water, which is suffi cient to sprinkle on one acre of the area.

White fl ies: Th e insects are much dangerous for the crops. Th eir attack reduces the production drastically. Th e size of the pod also decreases.

Treatment: For the prevention, Patanjali Nimbadi insecticide should be used. Add 5 liters of Nimbadi in 30 liters of water and sprinkle on the crop, which saves the produce from white fl ies.

Fusarium wilt: It is a common vascular wilt fungal disease, exhibiting symptoms similar to Verticillium wilt. Th e pathogen that causes Fusarium wilt is Fusarium oxysporum (F. oxysporum). Th e species is further divided into forma specialis based on host plant. Th e leaves turn yellow and take cur-vature shape.

Treatment: For the prevention of this disease add sour `lassi` in Patanjali Abhimanyu and sprinkle on the crop every week for three or four weeks. For one acre of the area add 5 litres of sour `lassi` in 100 ml of Abhimanyu in 30 litres of water.

Fruit rottenness: Th is disease excessively damages the crop. Th is disease is caused by Colletorichum Capsici.

Treatment: To keep the crop free from the disease keep sour `lassi` in cop-

per vessel for 40 days. Th en add 2 liters of sour buttermilk in 20 grams of asafetida in 20 liters of water. Sprinkle it on every week, which saves the crop.

Plucking of chilli : Th e plucking of the fruits depends on its ripening condition, quality and the purpose of production. When the fruit at-tains its natural development, then only it should be plucked. For dry-ing, the produce should be plucked, when it turns red chilli. For veg-etable the crop gets readied in 2.5 months.

Produce: If the above said sug-gestions are followed properly, per acre produce of 40-50 quintals could be taken.
