Scenario

You have recently started working as a business advisor at Solutions for Business Limited. The organisation provides advice and support for small and medium sized businesses throughout the United Kingdom. The firm specialises in offering advice to new firms, and people thinking of setting up a new business.

Scenario

The organisation’s contact information is as follows:

Solutions for Business Limited Solutions House York YO1 5GG

041904 247999

Scenario

Your job role is to work with clients to produce a range of business support materials; the documents should be produced and distributed using ICT.

Some documents should be designed to be printed whilst others should be to be viewed on screen.

First task..

Sort out your user area so you’re Ready For Anything!

Follow SOP, defined in the Model Assignment as -

Standard Operating Procedure The company policy is:

to organise your work using appropriate folder/file structures that make it easy for a third party to navigate and locate files

that version numbers must be included in your filenames, where appropriate;

to create weekly backup copies to a removable medium

to password protect files to prevent unauthorised viewing and editing of files

to protect documents that contain confidential information by the use of permissions.

‘House Style’

Solutions for Business Limited would like a consistent house-style for all its documents. Company documents will have common

elements of house-style. Consider: position of logo colours font graphic elements e.g. lines and borders.

Even McDonalds (bleah)

Notice the subtle rebranding – they’re going for the coffee house market now, not the kids!

Or blinkin’ nike...

This is a FLASH site, so it would limit access for some

Or HSBC

So for our company you must... Create a logo Decide the position of logo of

page/website colours of the logo and anything like a

border or header/footer font used in the header, footer and

body graphic elements e.g. lines and

borders.

My sad idea...

Yeah, I know, you can do better... At Level 3, so you should!
