First steps – what steps do we take
• Budget & Planning• Is it a Budget placeholder or a Quote
– Help us understand timelines & accuracy from the start
• Timelines– When do you want to do the work and go-live?
• Quote– Consider options to expedite movement forward
• Two to three part project vs. one Project
• My Goal - Get you active and engaged promptly– win – win for all

• Re-connect session• It's been a while• Casual system & operational discussion• Familiarizing myself with your operation• It's amazing what arises from a casual discussion• Discuss how far you are jumping• Personal discussions vs. forms initially
– Creates more comprehension on key data elements

• Deployment only - no cutover• Technical upgrade only• Technical + Evolution• Technical + Evolution + additional Software• Dev Environment first port to Production
• Let’s get the product into your site sooner than later• Upgrade interest and quote Queue is building quickly• Default position
– rollout initial Upgrade deployment to become production server
Project Approaches

• Technical upgrade - Apples to Apples• Goal is to get you certifying what you do today as fast as
possible• minimize change• Get me running - let me certify• Build knowledge about how it works on my timeline
• Go-live Cutover is handled as an additional Project
Deployment Only

• Apples to Apples• Certify in UI your used to• Training on Workspace Screens• UAT - User Acceptance Testing• CRP - Conference Room Pilot• Pre-cutover• Cutover• Go-live• Handoff to Support• Stand up test system
Technical upgrade

• Apples to Apples first • Training• UAT• Business Evolution - 360 / new logic• Pre-cutover• Cutover• Go-live• Handoff to Support• Stand up Test system
Technical Upgrade + Evolution
Or• Do Business evolution in test after go-live• Then port changes to productionOr• 360 Review first• Then do the upgrade work

• SOX compliance consideration• Deploy and prove in test• Deploy Production server apply change• Increased change management
– We need good logging on both sides of all changes
• Increased hours• Highly recommend pre-go-live cutover initiative• Increased risk at go-live
– More certification validation required

Smaller Leaps – 65.01 onwards
• Upgrade Test• Train, evolve & certify• Pre-Go live cutover on test system• Snapshot Production & DB’s• Deploy new release on Production as done in Pre-go live
cutover• Go live softly, certify and ramp up volumes*assumes no OS upgrading – Great thing is Platform 3.0 is already installed and working

• Would we do it the same way today?– Don’t assume we blindly port custom forward– Have some devil’s advocate position discussions– This is considered consulting if in-depth
• Impact considerations– Fixes have to be ported to your branch– Can't take general support releases– Forward porting consideration
• Custom can be logical, but we need to be sure it is required
Minimizing Custom

• Lbls3 to A1PM• Bartender to A1PM
– Drop license cost– Take advantage of growing Label Library
• Crystal to SSRS– Crystal was deprecated
• Ship System– A1Ship

New Upgrade Merge Scripts
• Avoid Destabilizing & Change Management– Create & Convert Test in initial phase– Prove and Evolve the system– Clear historical tables & test data– Retain key configuration tables – Backup, Trim and convert Limited Production data– Set orders to unallocated only– Script the Missing data (since original backup) into the Go-live DB– Go-live on a refreshed system that is configured exactly as it was
certified in CRP and UAT.
• Optionally – invest in detailed change management and completely re-convert & add time to system recertification

• Confirm the approach that best suits your operation• Understand the benefits of the SQL script
– Minimal change management– Certified environment– Decreased conversion time– Minimized change
• Leverage the Training hours included• Highly recommend a Test System

• Granular Project outline and scope presented• Spreadsheet format with line item menu like selection
– What we understand– What you understand– Scope defined to specific tasks– Share with you in editable format– Time Allocation completely transparent– Accountability maintained
• Casually review and lock down investment• Formalize and issue a WR in Docusign Format• Kickoff Project

Pre-Go live considerations
• Cutover Considerations– Leverage a script to minimize change– Must still convert production, but much smaller dataset.– Hard drive space is significant - one large transaction
• Purge and trim data before doing conversions– Purge for age
• Standard purge script based on months of retention
– Purge for possible actions that are not required• Granular actions• 1 million logs per month average

• Let us Deploy and convert the DB– We will pre-certify the environment
• Include Tech advisor assistance– New UI setup & Training– UAT/CRP assistance– Go-live Cutover assistance– Limited go-live assistance
• We want you to succeed – Shadow at first– Invest where it makes sense – post deployment
