The  2015  Interna0onal  Youth  Day  theme  is  Youth  Civic  Engagement.    Youth  Civic  Engagement,  a  main  goal  of  the  United  Na0ons  seeks  to  promote  young  people’s  effec0ve  inclusive  civic  engagement  at  all  levels.      There  has  been  recent  increasing  aJen0on  and  policy  and  programming  focus  on  youth  civic  engagement  by  governments,  UN  en00es,  regional  and  mul0lateral  organiza0ons,  CSOs,  youth  and  researchers.        Interna0onal  Youth  Day  2015  Online  Campaign  #YOUTHDAY  The  engagement  and  par0cipa0on  of  youth  is  essen0al  to  achieve  sustainable  human  development.  Yet  oQen  the  opportuni0es  for  youth  to  engage  poli0cally,  economically  and  socially  are  low  or  non-­‐existent.  More  efforts  are  needed  to  raise  awareness  about  the  importance  of  youth  civic  engagement  and  its  benefits  to  the  individual  and  to  society,  including  for  sustainable  development  as  well  as  resilience  and  wellbeing.      The  Interna0onal  Youth  Day  2015  campaign  aims  at  promo0ng  civic  engagement  and  par0cipa0on  of  youth  in  poli0cs  and  public  life,  so  that  young  people  can  be  empowered  and  bring  a  full  contribu0on  to  society,  development  and  peace.    You  can  be  part  of  these  efforts!    

Twi$er  Chat:  Reimagine  the  Future  of  Work  in  the  Digital  Economy

What  is  a  Twi*er  chat?  A  Twi$er  chat  is  where  a  group  of  Twi$er  users  meet  at  a  pre-­‐determined  0me  to  discuss  a  certain  topic,  using  a  designated  hashtag  (#)  for  each  tweet  contributed.  A  host  or  moderator  will  pose  ques0ons  (designated  with  Q1,  Q2…)  to  prompt  responses  from  par0cipants  (using  A1,  A2…)  and  encourage  interac0on  among  the  group.      How  to  par2cipate  in  #SAPYouthChat  Twi*er  chat?    It’s  very  simple.  First  you  need  to  have  a  Twi$er  account.  Then  log  on  to  Twi$er  and  search  #SAPYouthChat.  On  the  search  page,  click  LIVE  and  you’ll  see  all  the  ongoing  conversa0ons  in  a  chronological  way.      @SAP_UA  will  be  the  moderator  to  welcome  par0cipants,  ask  ques0ons  and  generally  keep  the  conversa0on  on  track.    •  Start  tweet  with  A<ques0on  number><a,  b,  c,  etc.  if  you  need  to  split  your  answer>  #SAPYouthChat  SAP_UA  Q1:  <ques0on>  #SAPYouthChat  Par0cipant  A1:  <answer>  or  A1a  <answer>  followed  by    A1b:  <con0nue>  #SAPYouthChat    •  Feel  free  to  share  tweets  from  within  the  chat  with  your  network,  by  re-­‐twee0ng  posts  of  another  user.  Re-­‐twee0ng  in  the  chat  is  a  common  way  to  support  statements  from  other  tweeters  and  share  them  with  your  own  networks.    •  Most  importantly,  ALWAYS  use  the  hashtag  #SAPYouthChat  so  people  can  follow  along
