Your Wedding at The Lougheed House
Welcome to your beginning. To step into
Lougheed House is to step into a legacy of
diverse and vibrant celebrations. Our
beautifully restored Victorian house nestled
within the lush gardens provides the unique
and intimate setting to help curate your own
memorable moments.
Centrally located in the heart of
downtown Calgary and built in 1891 by
Senator James Alexander & Lady Isabella
Lougheed, this stunning 2.8-acre estate is a
National and Provincial Historical Site and
Museum. We invite you to begin your legacy in
our venue, ideal for your timeless love story.
From 1891—1936, the House and
Gardens were home to Senator James
Alexander and Lady Isabella Hardisty
Lougheed and their six children. They were
among Calgary’s most influential citizens.
Their home was a renowned social hub where
they welcomed princesses, princes, and stars
of stage and screen.
Today, your individually tailored, elegant
and intimate wedding will provide lasting
memories for you and your guests. Our
friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff
handle all your needs.

SENATOR’S STUDY
Originally used as the
Senator’s Office, this room serves
as the Bride’s room. Enjoy the
relaxed surroundings as you make
your last minute preparations.
BALLROOM
An event at the Lougheed House would not
be the same without music. The Ballroom on the
lower level provides a dance floor to celebrate
your special day with dance. This area is also
used as the exhibit area throughout the year.
GARDENS
The Beaulieu Gardens provide a
stunning backdrop to your wedding
ceremony. Your guests will witness your
intimate vows while being surrounded
by lush florals and vibrant greens.
LIBRARY
The Lougheed family had a great love
of reading, as illustrated by their extensive
library. The Groom and Groomsmen can
soak up the ambiance of the Library as
they prepare for the special day.
