The Christian understanding of the word vocation implies much more than the job or career we have—it deals with our very purpose in God’s plan.

Parenthood is indeed a vocation.

We are called to:

• Recognize the presence of God in our own lives.

• Discern the presence of God in all people and circumstances.

• Recognize the presence of God in our experiences of God’s creation.

• Live as people for others.
