COMPOSITE BRACKET - ESTHETYS® CLASSIC
DescriptionThe esthetys classic series offers the strength and esthetic features of ceramic in a qualitypolyurethane bracket.
CompositionEsthetys brackets are manufactured using the most advanced processes and the highestquality material to ensure maximum strength while providing a smooth friction-reduced finishresistant to discoloration.
Traditional composites brackets are manufactured with polycarbonate and include a ceramicpowder to further strengthen the material. The disadvantage of this material is that it is very brittleand it is necessary to add a metal insert to make the assembly rigid.Esthetys polyurethane brackets do not require this additional process and offer the highest level of strength while keeping an exceptional esthetic aspect.
Features:
• Classic version or with gold slot• A large choice of techniques• Integrated hooks• Ease of ligation• Anatomically contoured base for ease of placement• Incorporated angulation, torque and offsets• Increase in overall strength• Reduced friction, enhanced sliding properties• Silica treated base for superior bond strength
Techniques availables:
• In packages of 10• Edgewise (.018 and .022)• Roth (.018 and .022)• Bioprogressive (.0185)
Bracket identification:
Removable colour coded identification marking.

“Multi-PTM” is an effective and economic method specifically developed for early orthodontic treatment. The “Multi-PTM” guides erupting teethwith the help of the patient’s own muscle forces to an ideal position in the dental arches.A good occlusion is established and development of severe malocclusions avoided. “Multi-PTM” can be used in a wide variety of cases both indeciduous, mixed and permanent dentitions. The method has many advantages whether used independently or in combination with traditional treatment modalities and fixed appliances. The “Multi-PTM” is simple to use and requires less chair-side time. Treatment costs may also be reduced.

MULTI-PTM
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR PATIENT
The best way to measure the size of the appliance is to use the measuring tool. • Hold the handle of the measuring tool or attach it to the other end
of the orthodontic mirror handle (ECXPMANCHE). • The elevated marker on the right side of the measuring tool should be placed
between the maxillary or mandibular left second incisor and canine.• The size of the “Multi-PTM” is read from the contact point between the maxillary
or mandibular right second incisor and canine.• Take the expansion of the dental arch into account while treating mixed dentition
and use a “Multi-PTM” one to two sizes larger than measured.• Measuring tool can be sterilized in an autoclave.
Re-check the size when the maxillary and mandibular second incisors beginto erupt. It may be necessary to switch to a larger appliance. When determining the correct size, take the crowded or diastematic arch intoaccount and, if necessary, use a larger or smaller appliance.
Multi-PTM MEASURE TABLE
The enclosed table converts measurements obtained using other measuring methods into “MULTI-PTM” sizes.

• As active daytime use is a vital part of the treatment, the patient’s cooperation is therefore essential. The importance of regular use should be emphasized to the patient, because only regular use canlead to satisfying treatment results.• “MULTI-PTM” should be used in periods of 30 to 60 minutes for a total of two hours a day.• In case other daily routines of the patient do not allow for periodic use, the appliance can be usedfor one two-hour period just prior to bedtime.
NIGHT
• The appliance should be worn all night.• Once the treatment shows good progress, nighttime use is usually sufficient, making daytimeunnecessary. Knowing this will enhance the patient’s motivation.

What makes instruments from RMOSchweickhardt the better choice?
Superior quality maximizes satisfaction of our users.
Compared to other equipment used by dentists and labs, handinstruments represent a relatively small investment and canbe used for many years. In this environment, a top qualityinstrument offers two unbeatable advantages for its user:• Top quality instruments make the daily work more satisfying.
That's because they allow for a more precise and ergonomicwork process—which leads to better work results day to dayover years and years.
• Top quality instruments are the more economic choicedespite the higher price. The higher up front investment paysout two-fold: 1: Top quality instruments enable their users toachieve the same work result in less time (which reduceslabor cost) or a better work result in the same time (whichincreases customer satisfaction and, thus, turnover); 2: Topquality instruments last longer and therefore minimizeinvestments for replacement and repair.
Thus, a small initial investment upcharge for choosing topquality instruments compares to considerable daily advan-tages over thousands of working days. This makes top qualityinstruments the better choice. And that's why our philosophyis to deliver these top quality instruments.
103 years of experience and a strong personal commitmentenable us to deliver superior quality.
Adolf Schweickhardt GmbH & Co. has been producing dentalinstruments for 103 years, which makes them one of the mostexperienced manufacturers in the world. The company wasfounded by Mr. Adolf Schweickhardt back in 1896 and has beenfamily owned ever since. Currently, the third family generationis running the company and the fourth generation is starting toget into the business. Each generation brings in new ideas ofdeveloping and growing the heritage further, thus keeping thecompany on the leading edge in terms of technology, efficiencyand service.Only two things never change over generations: The deepbelief of the company owners that delivering top quality instru-ments at a reasonable price is the best we can do for our cus-tomers and the very strong personal commitment of eachowner to deliver this quality every day.Attention to detail ensures quality:• We choose the raw materials very carefully and only select
the highest quality steel. The material has a significantimpact on precision and durability of the final instrument.
• We take great care in optimizing treatment and productionprocesses to the specifics of our raw materials. Becauseeven the best material will still lead to a bad instrument iftreated in the wrong way.
• We are one of the very few manufacturers producing its com-plete line from raw material to final instrument only inGermany. We do that despite very high German salaries. However, German craftsmanship with its legacy of precisionproduces the best quality in the world.
• We invest heavily to support craftsmanship with state-of-the-art, high-tech machinery. Our computerized high preci-sion milling machines, for example, are accurate to 1/100 mm.This machinery helps us deliver every instrument in thesame outstanding quality, while controlling the cost of ourproduction process.
• We have a very strict quality control system which wasinstalled long before the discussion about quality control andthe ISO9001 norm came up. Additionally, every instrument isthoroughly examined by specially trained and experiencedpeople who are personally responsible for the quality of theinstruments they release.
What makes orthodontic pliers from RMO Schweickhardt thebetter choice? Our pliers offer some significant advantages for their users. Some of them are already visible on the new, unused plier.Others only become obvious when using the pliers over time.
All advantages are important for the doctor and the sum ofadvantages also justifies the slightly higher price. A userexpects two basics from any instrument: Perfect function overa long time and easy instrument care. For an orthodontic plierthis means:1. Precise, long lasting working ends for perfect holding,
bending and cutting results.2. Precise, long lasting plier lock for perfect guidance of work-
ing ends without jam and/or wobble.3. High corrosion resistance.4. All standard cleaning and sterilization procedures applicable.

Inserted Pliers
Especially for inserted pliers, fulfilling all four of the abovementioned requirements demands great care and expertise.
Why?Certain treatments of hard wires such as cutting and sharpbending of arch wires, specifically stress the working ends oforthodontic pliers. Therefore, these working ends need tobe equipped with hard inserts to ensure perfect functionand prevent them from being damaged by the wire. Theseinserts are applied to the plier via soldering. The challenge is to develop a combination of insertmaterial and soldering technique that:• Offer a high and even hardness of the insert to
the plier (to ensure perfect wire handling over along time).
• Guarantee a secure fixing of the insert to the plier(to prevent it from falling off during use).
• Allow for standard cleaning and sterilizationprocedures (to make instrument care easier).
• Has a high corrosion resistance (to ensure a long lifetime).
That is why inserts for RMO Schweickhardt pliers aremade from a special alloy and are applied to theplier with a highly sophisticated soldering technique. Our insert alloy combines hardness (around62 HRc) with a high corrosion resistance. Therefore our pliers do not need to be chromeplated. Consequently, except for chromeplated instruments, our pliers can be sub-ject to ultrasonic cleaning and disinfectionwith appropriate liquids as well as auto-clave sterilization. In addtion, our pliers don't have the riskof chrome plate peeling off. That couldpotentially endanger the patient'shealth if it happens during use of theplier in the patient's mouth. It wouldalso end the lifetime of the plier becauseif the chrome starts peeling off, the plier willcorrode quickly. Our insert soldering technique was especiallydeveloped for these pliers. The inserts are soldered to theplier with great care, which means effort… but this effort paysoff because the inserts stick safer to the beaks. Practically noRMO Schweickhardt plier ever loses its inserts during use, which is not always so for these sorts of pliers.
Having mastered the insert technique, three more require-ments have to be fulfilled to produce a top quality plier. Our beaks and inserts are milled on high precision machinesand additionally get final adjustment by expert craftsmen withlong experience. Because the best insert can only be as goodas the exactness of its shape.
Our locks are produced with great care to ensure a smoothand precise action over the whole working angle. That'sbecause precision of lock determines precision of plier. Ifthe lock is not tight enough, the plier will not allow forprecise work because the working ends will not close asprecisely as they are supposed to. If the lock is too tight, opening and closing will cause difficulties which inturn makes exact work very difficult (usually the jamwill arise in the first few millimeters of opening).A box lock—the gold standard of locks in terms of
long-term precision—is technically not possible forinserted pliers. But our screw locks ensure a precise
opening/closing procedure over a long time. This isbecause we fasten the screw into the body with a spe-cial procedure so that it won't become loose even afteryears of usage.
All edges of our pliers are carefully chamfered toincrease safety of patient and doctor (no pinching orwounding of gums). For less stressing wire treatments such as liga-
ture wires, bands, elastics and light wires, ortho-dontic pliers do not need inserts.
The advantage of these non-inserted pliers isthat they can be equipped with box locks.Still, for some procedures, an additionalprotection of the beaks is desirable for:• A better durability of beaks (the beaks
will hold their exact form longer).• A safer grip of the wire (the wire won'tslip off). Therefore, we protect those plierswith a tungsten carbide coating and we arethe only ones who do it. Apart from the coating
of the beaks, our non-inserted pliers are pro-duced with the same great care on beak form,
locks and edge chamfering as our inserted pliers.

Recommendation for Care and Maintenanceof RMO®/Schweickhardt InstrumentsThese Instruments are designed to provide long and faithfulservice. To protect your investment and ensure the reliableservice for a long time, please follow the recommended mainte-nance and care. All new instruments should be brushed with soap and water, rinsed, dried and run through the entire sterilization processprior to use.Disinfecting & CleaningAll instruments should be disinfected and cleaned immediatelyafter being used to remove debris, blood and to avoid drying ofthese contaminants on the surfaces of the pliers.
• Chemical Disinfection, if this method is the choice, we suggestusing a quality Alkaline product (Rust Inhibitor). The solutionneeds to be prepared every day exactly in the same concentra-tion. Make sure to dip the instrument into the solution only aftercomplete dissolution of the concentrated chemical. Scrub the
instrument tips with plastic brush if necessary. Don’t soak theinstrument for an extended period of time. The solution’s tem-perature should not exceed 25˚C (78˚F).• Ultrasonic Cleaning Device. Please use a high quality non-aggressive ultrasonic solution with rust inhibitors and PH neu-tral. Extended cleaning time with acidic chemicals will destroyyour valuable instruments very quickly.• Rinse the instruments with Water (the use of distilled or deion-ized water will provide further protection against rust and dis-coloration) immediately after disinfection and cleaning usingmethods above dry them carefully with towel or compressed airto avoid water staining. If these steps are not followed properly, the instruments may be subject to corrosion or discoloration inthe sterilizer.SterilizationSterilize the instrument in an open position. Follow the instruc-tions of the manufacturer of the units. Make sure that no mois-ture is sealed in the bag.• Autoclave Sterilization: Recommended to extend the lifetimeof the instrument.• Dry heat Sterilization:
- May shorten the life of the instrument especially with insert.
- Plastic handle may distort or discolor.• Cold Sterilization: refer to instructions of the Disinfection andCleaning section.Dry heat sterilization is acceptable up to 185˚C (395˚F); highertemperature may affect the hardness and lead to discoloration ofthe instrument.Maintenance and LubricationDefective and corroded instruments need to be eliminated; oth-erwise corrosion may be transferred to other instruments dur-ing sterilization. Joints, inserts and ratches of instruments haveto be treated with paraffin.Tips to lengthen the lifetime of your instrument:• Applying a light coating of silicone spray to the hinge areaevery few weeks is recommended. The silicone will help pro-mote smooth operation and clean appearance.• Don’t dry-heat sterilize the instruments with plastic handles,as it will tend to distort and discolor the plastic.• Ultrasonic devices tend to loosen-up the brazed parts (insert)and round-off sharp edges sooner due to the vibration gener-ated by the machine.• All cutters should be resharpened and reconditioned every6-9 months.• Warranty does not cover routine maintainence, sharpening orreconditioning.

For over fifty years, A. J. Wilcock® Australian Wire has been ahousehold name in orthodontics. The extraordinary properties ofthese wires are due to the research and fine engineering skillsemployed in the processing of the wires. Wilcock wires are wellknown for their resilience and ability to withstand masticatoryforces as well as being able to maintain their shape even whenauxiliaries and elastics are used. There is no other wire whichopens the bite as effectively as Wilcock wire. Although these wireshave been imitated by many manufacturers over the years, A. J.
Wilcock Scientific & Engineering remains the global market leaderin high tensile stainless steel archwires.

Move teeth rapidly and efficiently with RMO's Energy Chain
RMO®'s Energy Chain™ is a proven elastic chain materialleader. Numerous universities and clinical researchers haveshown that RMO's Energy Chain outperforms virtually all otherelastic chain available.
Energy Chain is a tough elastic chain material that is stainresistant, tasteless, and delivers a uniform continuous forceover significantly longer periods of time in comparison to mostother elastic chains.
• Patented formula provides light continuous forces for weeks• Independently tested and clinically proven performance may
reduce appointment intervals and save valuable chair-time• Less stress decay and less elongation over time compared to
virtually all other elastic chains available• Stain resistant and latex-free• Light-protective spool containers can extend shelf-life, and
snap together for stacking and storage efficiency• Available in 3 sizes and a variety of colors–plus Gray and
Clear• All Energy Chain colors perform similarly to Gray and Clear

Below are results from an independent study conducted by theDepartment of Orthodontics at the University of KentuckyCollege of Dentistry comparing Energy Chain with plasticchains. The following conclusions were made: “... EnergyChain appears to possess better properties than many otherconventional types of elastomeric chains. Although plasticchain had greater initial force, Energy Chain produced agreater force after eight weeks than other plastic chains didafter one day and maintained a higher percentage of its initialforce. Our clinical observations indicate that a single piece ofEnergy Chain may be used for six weeks or longer...”
Another study conducted by Dr. Jina Concetta Annello at theUniversity of the Pacific concluded that “Compared to othermanufacturers, Rocky Mountain Orthodontics’ elastomericchains displayed the most ideal force for physiologic toothmovement.”

DUAL-TOPTM & G SERIES* MINI IMPLANTS FOR ORTHODONTICS Order number
Orthodontic implants: Ortho-TopTM
The orthodontic micro implant has proven to be satisfactorily suitable for the solutions of different orthodonticcases such as extrusion or intrusion of single tooth or groups of teeth, anterior covered bite, malocclusionscaused by anterior crowding and dental asymmetry. Moreover, they are an optimum anchoring in the retractionphases of the frontal group after the extraction of premolars or the molar distalization. These micro implants allow also the anchoring of inter jaw elastics, thus avoiding the extrusive counter force onthe anchoring teeth. These micro implant can be successfully used not only to make the molar mesialization, but also the uprightingor the molar disclusion
Features:
• The implants are made of medical titanium, grade 5 (ASTMF136)• sold sterile, ready for use• surface is not treated • Passing hole (under the head): diameter 0.8 mm • Pitch: 0.6 mm• Crosswise cavity (on the head): depth 0.72 mm / width 0.55 mm• Applicable strength: 500 grams

Reverse Pull Face Crib
The Reverse-Pull Face Crib was initially designed for the correction of maxillaryinsufficiencies and mandibular prognathism. As orthodontists reported additionalapplications for the forward pull of the crib (class II and closing spaces), refine-ments were made. A chin cup was added to improve stability. The frame was modi-fied to prevent shifting even during sleep. The mouthbow was redesigned toincrease tension potential and optimal patient safety. Due to lightweight stainlesssteel construction and face fitting conformity the necessity of headstraps has beeneliminated.
Forehead Rest• Large size to ensure patient comfort • Snap on clips for easy placement• Moulded of light weight plastic • HydrasorbTM foam liner
Mouthbow• .075 gauge wire • May be used with choice of intra-oral anchors
Chin Cup• Moulded to frame to eliminate rotation • Large cup design to ensure patient comfort• Moulded light weight plastic • HydrasorbTM foam liner
Total Visibility• No visual obstructions • Can be worn with glasses
Function• Class III: Allows forward pull to bring the maxillary arch forward• Class II: Allows forward pull on the mandibular arch. Ideal for moving teeth

ORTHOPEDIC MASK
Adaptable Class III Mask (Dr Henri Petit) ECJ0298
The protocol for many orthopedic facial mask treatment of Class III cases requiresvery heavy forces to be applied to the craniofacial complex. In these cases, theAdaptable Class III mask is an ideal choice. Elastics with combined force levelsfrom 1 to 7 kilograms couple the face mask to an intraoral appliance(s) to elicitforward movement of the maxilla as a whole, rotation of the maxillary pyramid ormovement of both arches.
Forehead Rest• Patient comfort is maximized with ample coverage for stability and heavy force diffusion• HydrasorbTM foam liner• Shatter resistant Biocryl II construction
Chin Cup• Peripheral design offers laterally extended coverage to diffuse force over the mandible while avoiding the soft area near the lip and under the chin
• HydrasorbTM foam liner
Mouthbow• Looped ends for patient safety• Radial locking block is repeatedly adjustable from low to high pull• Welded crossbar
Main Frame• Arc of opening bend in lower portion simplifies adjustment• Length adjustable at both ends, utilizing the forehead rest Slide/Lok and chin cup
guide position• Adjustable Pedo size 7 1/2 in.• Adjustable Standard size 9 1/2 inElastics (16 oz 1/2 ”) Blue Replacement Pads (washable)

ORTHOPHEDIC MASK
The Langlade Reciprocal Arch and Mini Chin Cup (for class II corrections)
Developed by Dr Michel Langlade, the reciprocal arch and mini chin cup offer acomfortable, effective and safe alternative to headgear. Since the appliance ismore comfortable to wear, especially during the hours of sleep, patient com-pliance problems are minimized.
The reciprocal arch appliance is worn 24 hours per day with Class II elastics, applying a reciprocal force to both arches. It may be removable or ligated to theupper arch. The reciprocal chin cup is worn at home to protract the lower arch andincrease the maxillary headgear force making the dental correction faster andeasier.
Reciprocal arch:• Easy adjustment• Well tolerated (children & adults)• Invisable (under upper lips)• Patients wear the appliance 24 hours per day• Reinforces Class II elastics effect• Bumper effect• Avoid headgear use• Can be used with lateral 0.45 tube & reciprocal mini chin cup
The mini chin cup is recommended for the malocclusion of Class IIin the case of retrusive lower arch and lower retrusive cuspids and/or incisors with microdontie, anodonties, agenesies. • Easy to adjust• Well tolerated (children & adults)• Easy to wear (home hours & sleeping)• Efficient headgear effect• Very fast correction• Can avoid surgery in borderline skeletal adult cases• Very helpful in cases where you need to close/or to open spaces and to bring
the lower arch forward.
Reciprocal arch without headgear tubes ECJ0294
Reciprocal arch with headgear tubes welded at the level of the cuspids on the reciprocal arch. ECJ0295Recommended for use in combination with the mini chin cup
Mini Chin Cup ECJ0296Designed to be inserted into the headgear tubes on the reciprocalarch with Class II elastics of Class II fixed to the hooks of the mini chin cupand the mandibular vestibular tube onf the first molar

MANDIBULAR ADVANCEMENT SYSTEMS
Mandibular Advancer (by Dr. Michel Amoric)
Proposed with specific fixing parts allowing free lateral movements. The fixingparts can easily slide on the 070 x 036 flat wire to respect the desired advance-ment, being then blocked in the chosen placement through the bending of theauto-blocking screw.Once properly adjusted, the appliance is included into a thermoformed splint(using the Scheu Dental/Biostar thermoforming device). Manufacturing time andprocess is reduced to a minimum with no breakage risk.Mandibular advancer kit with fixing parts and screws (one pair) ECM3011Fixing parts kit with screws ECM3015072 x 036 FLAT wire (5 meters) ECM30142.35 mm pre-cut advancement sections (10 PKG) ECM30131mm pre-cut advancement sections (10 PKG) ECM3018Screws for attachment devices (10 PKG) ECM3017
