I. About Sumec Marine

Technical orientation identifies Sumec from the others. The technical and engineering department teamed up by experienced naval architects, engineers and electricians that assure the professional and reliable performance of every commitment of the company. Aiming to strengthen and upgrade its engineering management, the company, together with the other four partners, set up Jiangsu Modern Shipbuilding Technology Co., Ltd. in 2004.

With its professional and active project management team, the company has been working intensively together with over 20 shipyards for various merchant ships ranging from 3,000 DWT to 90,000 DWT, or super-sized barge with beam over 50 meters. For time being, the company has over 40 ships ordered in 11 ship yards that will be delivered in next couple of years.

Sumec Marine Co., Ltd. (a member of SUMEC Group) started its shipbuilding activity in 1986. Backing on its in-house technical team and expertise in engineering and project management, the company offers a complete solution to ship-owners for shipbuilding in China integrating safe operation, quality assurance and cost optimization.

PROFILE

As the seller in the shipbuilding contract, the company has delivered more than 140 various ships over the years, and earned the place as one of the leading shipbuilding contractors in China. The quality management system of the company was audited and certificated by BVQI to ISO9001 since 2002.

Aiming to strengthen and upgrade its engineering management, the company, together with other four partners, set up Jiangsu Modern Shipbuilding Technology Co., Ltd. in 2004.

During the construction of the ship, we join in the production management on site to coordinate among the ship-owner, shipyard, designer and classification society. Any deviation from the planned program will be detected immediately and corrected in time. In time procurement, in time construction and in time delivery will be always concerned by our site project management team supported by our technical and financial expertise behind.

Furthermore, we may supply the spare parts to the ship in her life time at request.

I.E.

Upon the requirement of the shipyard or the buyer, we may act as the agent of the shipyard for the selling of the ship, which may include commercial operation of the contract, bank guarantee, bridge financing to the shipyard in the period when the ship is constructed, etc.

II. Recommended Design

II.A.

The vessel is designed for the carriage of general dry cargoes, hot coils and steel plates. Two cargo holds are equipped with hydraulic folding hatch covers for easy operation. The vessel is driven by a four-stroke slow speed marine diesel engine with MCR of 3600HP at 240RPM and fixed pitch propeller. The service speed at designed draft is 12.3Knots and cruising range can reach 7840 nautical miles. The deadweight of the vessel is 6150 tons at designed draft of 6.7m .

II.B.

The vessel is designed for the carriage of product oil of flash point less than 60℃. Twelve cargo tanks and two slop tanks are constructed with double skin and double bottom, and coated with pure epoxy and are clear of any structure inside of cargo tanks for easy tank washing. Two screw type cargo pumps with capacity of 750M3/H each are driven by electric motor. Two different grades of cargo oil can be loaded or discharged simultaneously without contamination

by double valve segregation

7,000DWT PRODUCT OIL TANKER

The vessel is driven by one medium speed diesel engine and a fixed pitch propeller through a gear box. The main engine can burn HFO up to 180Cst/50℃.

One (1) electric motor driven controllable pitch propeller bow thrasher with 200kW is installed in the fore body to improve the ship's manoeuvring.

The vessel is designed for carrying grain in bulk or sack, coal, iron ore, steel coil, steel pipe and other dry cargoes. Five cargo holds are constructed with single skin and double bottom, and equipped with hydraulic folding hatch covers. Four sets of 36 tons S. W. L electro-hydraulic cargo cranes are installed on main deck and capable of working with motor grabs.

The vessel is driven by a slow speed reversible engine with CSR of 8532Kw at 122.6 RPM and a fixed pitch propeller. The endurance of the vessel is about 18000 N. Mile based on designed draft of 11.30m at service speed of 14.2 Knots.

The design of the vessel meets the Common Structure Rules and the new requirement of MEPC. 141 (54), 12A for protection of Fuel Oil tanks.
