What We Do What we do is very exact and direct: the identification and removal of your personally-identifiable public information from people search sites and major data brokers. This detailed work has been our sole specialty and focus over the last seven years, resulting in the most comprehensive privacy service available on the market. Our expertly-trained career staff (working out of Los Angeles) is committed to putting in the real time and real work for each client in order to achieve long-term privacy results that reflect on Google, Bing, and other search engines. Taking on hundreds of data companies with decades of records may seem like a daunting task, but it’s a completely achievable journey when given the proper time and attention. The Five Ports of Your Privacy Journey A proper approach to solving the privacy issue with people search sites and data brokers involves a progressive series of steps to ensure the end result is achieved in a responsible, timely, and effective manner. This takes time and effort that we’re well versed in - and we want to make sure you know what to expect as the process unfolds. We call these stages of your privacy journey “ports” - think of them as destinations that you’ll be arriving at as we go through the process.

Port One: Collecting Information & Identifying Additional Records Services begin with identifying any records tied to you on each website and in data broker databases. Our expertly-trained crew manually scours each site and company in search of your information. Our Initial Privacy Report includes custom research to discover old addresses, phone numbers, and emails associated with your name. This newly-discovered information is paired with what you provide to us during the sign-up process, ensuring we have every angle covered. Information discovered about you is marked on your Initial Privacy Report with an asterisk(*), indicating where we found the new information (in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CA State AB-375, Chapter 35) of 2019). Your Initial Privacy Report is emailed to you within 2-3 business days of information submission. A small handful of situations may cause the process to take a few days longer, including having a common name (i.e. John Smith), multiple name variations, or living locations.

Port Two: The Removal Processes To ensure each record tied to you is accounted for, multiple sweeps are executed in this initial stage. We never limit your number of name variations, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses that you may want us to search for. Upon identifying records based on the information you provide along with what we discover, we initiate the appropriate opt-out processes. Depending on the data company, the processes typically include a mix of manually submitting online forms, sending emails, mailing documentation packets, and making phone calls. These first sweeps are the most intense. We handle them in the most effective way possible, with manual navigation, creating real-world results, and focusing expert human eyes on even the smallest details.


Port Three: Removing Dead Links & Outdated Content from Search Engines PrivacyDuck incorporates a unique 'Google Clean-Up' service , which is the extra step that makes all the difference. When your information is deleted from a site, the reflection is not immediate on Google's search results and, when clicked on, it sometimes leads to a dead page. Without additional intervention, the dead links will automatically disappear from Google in a month or two. However, we submit each page to Google's Outdated Content tool and, in most cases, the page is removed in just a matter of days.

Port Four: Regular, Detailed, Site-by-Site Client Reports Beginning the first month of service, we assemble detailed privacy reports that update you on what is happening with your online data. The monthly reports detail site-by-site reviews of every place your information is found. On these regular updates, you will notice each site will be displayed in either red or black. Sites in black are those we did not find your data on or we were able to remove your information from immediately. Sites in red are those which still hold your information. We let you know exactly what we are doing to handle the situation and an estimated timeframe for removal.

Port Five: Repopulations, Follow-Ups, & Outstanding Data After sending you the first Privacy Report Update, we continue monitoring all sites to ensure compliance with all removal requests in the expected timeframes. We also address potential immediate repopulations, previously hidden partial records, and tech errors that may have arisen during the first sweeps. Repopulations sometimes happen in the first several weeks. This is common, but does not usually include all of the data that was initially removed. This may be due to sites scraping information from other sites. We monitor for this and remedy it immediately , as it is a normal and expected part of the process. Typically by the second month, all sites serviced by those programs are fully removed and repopulations are no longer appearing. To ensure this is the case, we continue monitoring and reporting back to you for the next year. Within the first 90-120 days of service, you may still see false advertisements for your name, or your name on family records - even though when clicked on, this will lead to a “page not found”. These types of records - the ads for your info and relatives’ association - are organized and sold on a quarterly basis by the data brokers, and will be resolved in the next sweep.


Professional Services We understand managing personal privacy can be a challenging endeavor. PrivacyDuck's professional services allow you to relax and step back as we handle it for you in an experienced, efficient, and responsible way. For your convenience, two packages are available for you to choose from.

Basic Privacy covers the most common people search sites and behind-the-scenes data companies and brokers. This includes many of the sites that openly display information and are not blocked by paywalls. VIP Privacy removes your data from every possible source, as well as any new sources that may come online within the year. In addition to the sites covered by Basic Privacy, we cover aggregate sites and behind-the-paywall non-FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) compliant sites. This option is the most effective personal privacy opt-out service available on the free market and it’s been our ever-evolving signature service since PrivacyDuck was founded.

With both options, we begin working on your service upon registration and submission of Information to Remove. Your first report is delivered within 3-5 days of receiving these documents. You’ll also receive a monthly customized PDF-based Privacy Report email which details the site-by-site progress.

Once your record is deleted from a site, it commonly takes 3-5 weeks for their systems to update the removal of your information from their advertisements and sister sites; and 2-3 months on your neighbors' and relatives' listings. While these sites do not allow anyone to speed up this timeframe, if someone tries to search for you or click on your name, they’ll still be brought to a “Page Not Found” in the interim.



All services come with a 100% Money-Back Guarantee if the data you initially provide us with are not removed from at least 90% of the sites within 160 days for Basic Privacy services or 190 days for VIP Privacy services. Services are in effect for one year from the date of purchase and are non-transferrable. Sites We Cover PrivacyDuck continually and carefully curates a complete list of sites to provide clients with the best protection the industry has to offer.

The year of 2017 marked a documented high point of 323 sites and we covered them all. Currently, there are over 190 sites showing Personally Identifiable Information (PII). There is no singular “grand master list” we can erase individuals from. What does exist is a relatively new and aggressively prolific data industry benefiting from decades of data collection about YOU amongst several hundred companies and sites with very little federal oversight and regulation (and none coming on the horizon).

Each data company/site is free to have their own opt-out process. They can make it however complicated or time-consuming as they like , within very elastic boundaries. This ranges from instant or near-instant deletion with a check-of-a-box (most of our Basic Privacy sites) to several months’ worth of repeated mail-in requests and legal demands to obtain opt-out compliance (many of our VIP Privacy sites). But no matter the difficulty, our expertly-trained career privacy staff is on top of it to the fullest extent.

We choose which sites fall under each of our services based largely on two things; how difficult they are to opt out and how much time it takes to complete the process. We also divide these sites up based on sites that scrape from other sites, so you can genuinely be off those databases at those service levels and feel confident they won't be excluded.

Although we are unable to offer alterations to our plans (substitutions, à la carte, or mixing and matching), we welcome you to check out the Free Resources section of our website. It is filled with how-to videos and guides. Keep in mind many sites scrape information from each other, so you may find yourself going into a rabbit hole of 25-50+ sites.

Step 1: All Aboard! To join, simply choose your preferred service and check out using the Services page on our website. Orders are processed via Square. We do not store your payment information , so there will be no surprise charges down the line. Once your payment is confirmed, you will soon receive confirmation emails from both Square and PrivacyDuck.

Step 2: Cast Off The email from PrivacyDuck will include details about your service, along with links to our ‘Information to Remove Form’ and ‘Client Authorization Form’. This is where you will submit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for yourself and one member of your household , if applicable. There are no extra costs for additional name variations addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or vehicle records. We will ask for a copy of your Driver’s License or state-issued identification card and any other records that may assist our efforts and provide much quicker results. However, we will never need your Social Security Number. Once we’ve received your completed forms, we will use what you provide as a jumping-off point to find any other discoverable information.

Step 3: Smooth Sailing Within a few days, we will send an Initial Report to confirm data we have found , the steps we have taken with each covered site to begin removing your information, and what our next steps are to further protect you. You will also receive monthly updates as your service is continued.
