BIG TREE has launched its latest out-of-home (“OOH”) solution, Big+, a suite of offerings bridging its OOH me- dia with cutting-edge online capabilities. This new solution targets business partners, adver- tisers and media agencies. Big+ prompts consumers via OOH advertisements and further targets them on mobile devices. Consumers would be able to immediately take ac- tion on advertisements upon viewing advertised prod- ucts or services on static or digital OOH media. The launch was officiated by Big Tree’s chief execu- tive officer, Shukor Ariffin, who said advertisers will ex- perience a revolutionised way of buying OOH media. Big+’s suite of digital solutions include: Big Capture: A geofence technology that serves online banners upon entering a designated geofence Big Scan: An image scanning technology of OOH static and digital visuals with smart devices, which leads to online activation and engagement Big Effects: Dynamic digital content where brand messages are customised with real-time in- fluences. BIG TREE has launched its latest out-of-home (“OOH”) solution, Big+, a suite of offerings bridging its OOH me-dia with cutting-edge online capabilities. E! NEWS NOW AVAILABLE ACROSS MEDIA PRIMA PLATFORMS MEDIA PRIMA TELEVISION NETWORKS (“MPTN”) has launched its own version of E! News called E! Media Prima TV Networks. Unlike traditional television pro-grammes, the Malaysian edition of E! News airs on YouTube and is curated into bite-sized, ten- minute episodes. According to MPTN CEO, Johan Ishak, the new programme is part of Media Prima’s aim to democratise content on its digital platforms by giving entertainment fans easy access to the latest celebrity news and gossip with the click of a button. Each day of the week will also feature different interests with Monday episodes focusing on beauty and fashion tips from celebrities. Thursday episodes will feature tech-savvy artistes sharing their love for the latest gadgets.

IFLIX PARTNERS WITH MEDIA PRIMA TO BOOST PREMIUM LOCAL CONTENT OFFERING MEDIA PRIMA’S CONTENT has been made available on iflix for free, one hour following their linear TV broadcast, to offer all viewers a rich on-demand experience. More than 1,000 hours of con-tent will be made available on iflix via a tonton branded channel This partnership will provide easy access for consumers and open greater content monetisation opportunities for Media Prima through iflix’s ad-supported tier, iflixFREE.

KEJOHANAN E SUKAN CAMPUS FINAL

UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH was crowned as the overall champi-on for Kejohanan E Sukan Kampus. They received a RM25,000 scholarship sponsored by XPAX, for their efforts to empower the local eSports industry. NSTP BAGGED 15 WINS

FOR JOURNALISM AWARDS NSTP won a total of 15 awards at the MPI-Petronas Malaysian Journal-ism Awards 2018. The big winners at the 2018 awards were Harian Metro which bagged a total of eight awards. Berita Harian also won a total of six awards at the event. The MPI received a total 267 en-tries for 20 categories from media practitioners for the 2018 awards. As part of the deal, REV Asia will be representing the online news portal as the Exclusive Advertising Reselling partner. TanTanNews is a Chinese language social news media and content portal that pri-marily focuses on the latest news and trendiest stories on entertainment, travel, fashion, and lifestyle. Launched in 2013, it has grown into a prominent brand and source for many visitors from Malaysia and across the region. According to Google Analytics, TanTanNews rec-orded a total of 2.8 million page views and 1 million users in November 2018.

MPB INSTALLS SEVEN SOLAR PANELS FOR

KAMPUNG PULAU CHE SOH

The installation of seven solar panels, donated by Tabung Bencana Media Prima, has benefitted more than 30 residents at Kampung Pulau Che Soh, Kelantan. The solar panels were much needed by the nine families in the village which previously had only two pillars of

lights to illuminate the street at night.

The installation of the solar panels was conducted through a collaboration between Briged Sukarelawan Media Prima-NSTP and volun-teers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (“UKM”) in conjunction with UKM’s community service programme.

NATIONAL NOD FROM ASIAN ACADEMY

Ejen Ali was crowned the Malaysia winner in the Best 3D Animated Programme or Series category of the Asian Academy Creative Awards (“AAA”). The win was announced by the awards committee at a special industry event in Cannes, France last October.

The Asian Academy Creative Awards is a competition first launched in 2018 with 49 categories that aims to give recognition and honor excellence in quality of broadcast and other forms of media content. The awards are open to countries across Asia Pacific, including Malaysia, Singapore, Australia,

China, and South Korea.
