This exciting Journey begins with a guide in Irkutsk, (Siberia), where we will participate in the Ice World Golf Cup and experience our Frozen Beauty adventure at Lake Baikal. Each ambassador will be responsible for making their own air travel arrangements to Istanbul. May 9, 2020 – May 12: Tokyo, Japan. Accommodations at Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku with breakfast buffet. On May 10th take a full day coach tour of Tokyo that includes a visit to Asakusa (Tokyo’s old town), Sensoji (Tokyo’s oldest temple), a water bus ride on the Sumida River, a visit to the Hamarikyu garden, and a walk down the Omotesando shopping street. May 11 is a free day. spend time visiting other popular Tokyo sites including the Senso-ji Buddhist Temple, meander around Asakusa, Enjoy Yoyogi Park, visit the Meiji Shrine, Eat on Nakamise Street, eat sushi (or make your own.)
May 12 to 19: Homestay with the Ota-Gunma Friendship Force Club.
● Enjoy a welcome dinner. ● Take a one-day tour of the city including a courtesy call on the
mayor. ● Visit Nikko, a world heritage site featuring the Toshogu, a famed
Shinto shrine established in 1617. ● Tour the Subaru Auto Factory. There is an amazing car assembly
process to see here, which includes frame welding and finish assembly until the whole car goes out. There is also a museum of SUBARU historic cars.
● Take a day trip to the mountain/lake area north of Ota. The soaring-crane shaped Gunma Prefecture is packed with interesting sights to visit. Scenic areas with elegant mountains and grand natural vistas, flowers blooming beautifully, shrines, temples, and other cultural assets.
● Spend some time with the Ota FF members for a cooking exchange.
● End the visit with a grand farewell dinner.

FF of Memphis will journey to Tuxtla, Chiapas, Mexico, May 11-17 to be hosted by the Mundo Maya club. The program will feature visits to Sumidero Canyon, the colonial cities of Chiapa de Corzo and San Cristobal de las Casas, and the Mayan ruins at Palenque among other sites. The program will feature wildlife preserves, spectacular scenery, historical and archaeological sites and museums. An optional extension will be offered in the region.

This Journey provides ambassadors with the opportunity to experience a little of the natural beauty of Maranhão: it’s beaches, culture, cuisine, history, in the cities of São Luís and Barreirinhas, while being hosted by member of FF São Luis! Go on a city tour by foot through the historic center of São Luis, visit museums, a local market, a government palace, and the Artur Azevedo theater. In Barreirinhas, we will visit Lençóis (“sheets”), where the ambassadors will have the opportunity to bathe in the transparent waters of the lagoons and tour Preguiças, the lighthouse of the Mandacaru, and Caburé.
