And thank you for partnering with us for this special offering as we meet the ever-growing and critical needs of children and make an impact that will last for all eternity! Mother’s Day is a joyful time to uplift and honor all that mothers do and to celebrate the love of family. Unfortunately, not all children experience the nurturing love and care they need. At Florida Baptist Children’s Homes we are privileged to minister and care for hurting children who crave belonging, security, acceptance and love. In 2013, we were able to impact the lives of more than 74,000 hurting children in Florida and throughout the developing world – helping to meet their physical needs while showing them the deep and life-changing love of Christ. This was possible because of friends like you and the churches who came beside us to stand in the gap for children in need. In 2014, as we celebrate 110 years of min- istry, we are tirelessly continuing our quest to help ONE MORE CHILD. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Cor 5:17 NIV) We live in a cultural period in the US where the vast majority of people without Christ are not just neutral to the local church and its messages, but they are actually leaning away from the church and away from Christians. We also live in a period in the life of American churches where it has become normative to not share one’s faith. What then can cause the lost to be more open to hearing the gospel and lean in toward Christians and their churches? LOVE. What then can cause the Christians to push past their own fears and personal concerns and begin to lean in toward lost people? LOVE. We, the church, may have lots of problems, but the solution lies in correcting the LOVE problem. Learn more about our LOVE problem Thursday, May 8, 6:30 pm at First Baptist, Garden City. This can be one of the most exciting adventures we have ever had as the body of Christ.

MAPPING CENTER FOR EVANGELISM AND CHURCH GROWTH

Now your church can have the following information on persons and families in your area: names and addresses, age groups, mari-tal status, children’s ages, education level, length of residence, and more. You can know this before you visit prospective families.

How can we get this information? By subscribing to Mapping Center.

The Association will subscribe to this program for every zip code in north Okaloosa County for $1,000 per year. Ten churches could each contribute $100 each to pay for this. If your church will assist in this subscription, contact the OBA Office.

When the subscription begins, prospective families will be divided among the churches by “neighborhoods.” Churches in a particular area could then work together to visit and to bear a positive Christian witness to persons who need to know Jesus.
