Step 1Preparation and safety checkA: Safety first. Please turn off your telly, and set top box at the wall. Keep your cables plugged into your box, and leave the smartcard in the box.

B: Clear some space. Make sure you have some room to move around your telly, so you can easily access all of the cables and sockets.

C: Unpack your new box. Carefully remove your new set top box from the packaging, and place it close to your existing box...as you’ll soon be swapping over the cables, one by one.

D: Record your details. Note down the serial number of your new set top box and also your existing smartcard number. You’ll need them when you call to activate your new box. To access your smartcard open the door in the front panel of your set top box.

Serial Number (new iQHD box): Existing Smartcard Number:

This is your smartcard

Your set top box serial number is located on the bottom of the set top box and is 11 numbers long. The Smartcard serial number is the 12 digit number on the back of the card above the barcode

Step 2Swap your cables and smartcardFirst put your new set top box on top of (or close to) your old set top box.

Now, just remove your cables from the old set top box, and connect them into the same socket on your new set top box, one by one. The signal input cable needs to be unscrewed and screwed in, it does not pull out.

If you have more connections than these, you might like to give our friendly customer service team a call on 1300 732 681 and they’ll be able to help you 7 days a week. A full list of our operating hours can be found on foxtel.com.au.

Finally, take the smartcard out of your old set top box, and place it into your new set top box. The smartcard can be inserted into the front panel of the set top box. Make sure you insert it the right way by following the arrow on the card.

For your connection, you should have the following cables connected:

1. Cable/Satellite Signal Input

2. HDMI Connection

3. Power lead: The final connection

Other connections you may be currently using are listed below. Make sure these are also swapped over.

A: RCA

D: Ethernet

B: SCART

E: Telephone Lead

C: S-Video
