Instructor-Led
Equivalent in instructional rigor and scope to a course that is provided in a traditional classroom setting
Courses
A student is eligible to enroll in a course provided by the TxVSN only if the student
• is younger than 21 years of age on September 1 of the school year
• has not graduated from high school
• is otherwise eligible to enroll in public school in Texas
Eligible Students
Maximum of 2 courses per semester
Each course must fill a graduation requirement for the student

Research indicates mentoring and monitoring students engaged in online learning is crucial to student success!
Parents play a key role in mentoring and monitoring their student throughout online courses.
Support for online learners
Site Coordinator’s (counselor) responsibilities
• Review READI Survey results with student before enrollment in course
• Enroll student in course(s)
• Facilitate student drops or adds
• Receive student’s final grade
Support for online learners
Student and parent responsibilities
• Student will complete the READI Survey and review results with parent and Site Coordinator (student email address required)
• Parent will:• Monitor/mentor the student to ensure progress• Communicate with the instructor at regular
intervals or as needed• Ensure online access and supplemental materials

Must be taken under the supervision of a school district proctor not related to the student
Dates and locations of proctored exams will be available on the campus website
Examinations
Commitment to success
Student Success Defined:
• All required course activities and assessments completed
• A final grade of 70 or better
To help ensure student success:
• A contract describing the time commitment and other expectations necessary for online course success will be signed by the student and parent

Decide what course(s) will benefit your graduation plan
Contact your Site Coordinator (counselor) for enrollment
Sign commitment contract (parent and student) prior to enrollment
