Alison Velez Lane, Esquire

Attorney Alison Velez Lane first learned and practiced giving speeches as a teenager at Bethel A.M.E. Church. She had a great mentor and speech coach named Oprah Winfrey, a Channel 13 news reporter and talk show host. Alison gave joint dramatic presentations with Ms. Oprah, as she calls her.

During her years at Western High School, she and her sister repeatedly won the junior and senior levels in the Baltimore City Department of

Recreation "Speak Up" contests. She and her sister were interviewed on WEAA Radio. Alison won First Place awards in the NAACP ACT-SO contests for drama and creative writing.

Alison has earned certificates and awards from Toastmasters International, a organization which helps people to develop communication and leadership skills. After her facilitation of the Young Men With P.O.W.E.R. Public Speaking Workshops, she will complete her requirements to apply for Distinguished Toastmaster.

Ms. Lane gives speeches at corporations, conventions, churches and conferences throughout the United States. She reads, speaks and writes

Spanish and reads and writes French. Attorney Lane represents clients who own businesses and properties. She also advises political candidates and organization leaders. Alison

served as Councilman Nick Mosby’s Chair of Community Outreach for his successful election. Alison is a graduate of William H. Lemmel Junior High School, Western High School, Bryn Mawr College, Centro de Estudios Hispanicos (Madrid,

Spain) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
